One of my favorite places to be :) RECYCLE, RECYCLE, RECYCLE! I would do anything for them to bring back the styrofoam recycling though. I'm always happy when I see how busy this place is - love how many people in our town recycle! Wish they would add plastic bag recycling to save me that extra stop.
This place is a joke. They close for wind, rain, cold weather, snow, or any other excuse they can use. They don’t update if they are closed or open on Google and the phone number is just a County number. I drive here all the time with a car full of recycling just to have to go back home and unload it all. Rather not recycle than deal with this place.
I appreciate this place and the workers who keep everyone recycling correctly. I've learned a lot. I take care of my own trash and recyclables now because I've caught some companies dump recyclables in with the regular trash, and because we were deceived by Whitetail when they said the price would'nt go up and it doubled in a few years.
Worst recycling center! The staff is rude. They are unhelpful. They are quick to bark at people. They do not offer shredding service any longer-even though Bethlehem-PA website page is still up-but has a small disclaimer indicating they aren't doing shredding any longer. Just take the entire page down then. They don't take Styrofoam any longer- with same disclaimer posting. Went to the recycling center today with car fully loaded with card board. Checked their website and indicated they were open. Drove past and their gates were open. I arrive to the staff lined-up on outside and directing people away- saying they "might not open today." They didn't know and could not provide a time of when they might make a decision. It was already 1.5 hrs after they're scheduled opening time of 10am. Terrible place and poorly managed.
Helpful volunteers there, and the center handles a wide variety of recyclables. I feel better about dropping stuff off here than co-mingling in the garbage truck that serves our neighborhood!
I had some sensitive materials that I needed to have shredded and I found Theis/Cornfeld Recycling Center online and decided to make the drive out; the center is about an hour from my home.
When I got there, I went in the second entrance after the turn, as instructed by the signage, to enter the parking for shredding. I met a lovely gentlemen that worked there who gave a detailed run-down of how to sort my items to make for an easy trip. I plan to tackle my grandparents home and take all of their old magazines and papers to the recycling center later this month.
One thing that I loved, is that if you’re a private person, you can actually make an appointment to bring in your sensitive documents for shredding, and you can actually watch them shred all of your documents.
So glad that I found Theis/Cornfeld Recycling Center online. I’m referring all of my friends and family to take them up on the service.
Very helpful and friendly staff .they're also knowledgeable and will let you know if an item is not suitable for recycling, especially styrofoam and it's varieties. I'm hoping this service can generate a little revenue for the city and they can put some sort of roof over the recycling stations where the workers have to stand all day and provide them some protection from the elements.
The employees here are so nice! It was my first trip here and I didn't know where the entrance was. I almost went in on the exit side but they yelled for me to stop and then came up to me to redirect me. If it's your first time there, make sure to keep an eye on which area is marked for exit or entrance since it can be confusing if you're coming from the monocacy park direction. 👍
We bring a lot of cardboard here and when I mean a lot, it’s A LOT. They normally offer to give us a hand but we normally do it ourselves so not to bother them even more. Very cool recycling center and lots of options. Would love to see something for bicycle tires. 👀
My last visit was in November, 2019. Workers were hard working helpful (i.e. carrying some items to the proper disposal site, etc.) They even separated some items for me.

Staff is friendly and helpful.
Recycle paper, books, newspaper,cardboard and other items.
Facility is clean and well maintained.
They also do shredding, call to make a appointment. FREE.
Do Not have to be a local resident, open to all.
The service is horrible and the workers rude. they look like they do not want to work, I was supposed to drop off 10 boxes of paper from my business at 11 am and because I was 15 minutes late Due to helping a costumer get their road side assistance.they only took 4. Not even half of the amount and Again from a business not just anyone. this is how they expect people to want to go out of their way and recycle... will never go there again
Just went by recycling center and it has changed its closing time to 4:00 pm instead of 5:00 pm. I would not have ridden out there had I known. Please update website.
It’s a great center. It is not a place to dump trash, and call ahead about shredding, which is for office paper not magazines or trash.
See the website. Most plastic is not recyclable, this place takes mainly food and drink plastic jars marked 1 through 7.
Toys, dvds, CDs and their containers are for your trash. They are not recyclable. The same for car parts.
I have been taking items here for years, best recycling around. Staff is always friendly and helpful! Yes, sometimes they close during extreme weather conditions, small inconvenience, but not a big deal....I usually check the website or call ahead if weather is bad!
The personnel are friendly and mostly helpful. Easy to use and take most recyclables. Good location for most residents.
TWO CAUTIONS 1). people speed along Illick's Mill Road which is in a park area. Be careful pulling out of the center .If you go the speed limit, cars may pass you despite no passing zone.(this happened to me twice even though I was going the speed limit. 2). The center closes in hot weather if it gets over 90 degrees. You may want to call to see if they're open on those days.
Pretty good center. They have staff there to help with recycling under normal business hours. They take cardboard, steel, aluminum, textiles, telephone books etc.
