I am not longer welcome here because of a clerical mistake they made years ago with no evidense. Not a good look.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! Anytime I am there this place is ALWAYS busy a trashy mess and disorganized and prices are always screwed up somehow. Bad rotten customer service with no direction.Witnessed some poor girl who probs knows nothing about scrap confused by the wait getting yelled at by the scale window lady. Rude workers. Who seem to know nothing about pricing or what is what. Weird road closure by scrap yard and have to NOW GO ALL THE WAY AROUND THE BLOCK which is inconvenience, especially on a SATURDAY!! Hours and rules not clearly posted either.Seems like they make up their own rules and pricing. Done with this dump trash. WONT be back!

They not only underpay but they do slimey stuff to screw you out of money. I had a full aluminum radiator yet they classified it as "irony aluminum" which it's not. It was a brand new full aluminum radiator that had a pin hole leak. Also the price of irony aluminum is .25 cents yet they only payed .11 cents. Find another scrap yard. Mayers is trash anymore.

Great place best prices in the area. Lady at the scale is always nice polite. Guys in warehouse are always friendly and will always give me a hand with the heavier stuff. Never had an issue with this place. Been going there since the late 80s with my dad. I hate going anywhere else.

If you have Food Grade trailer, avoid this place!!! Freight Brokers sell. But they will misinform carriers about the important details. This shipper In Pottstown PA. loads only Bailed Scrap. While Brokers tell you "it is Aluminum Sheets on Skids".

I went to the Pottstown location. Worst customer service I've seen in years. The girl running the pay scale was excellent. The guys in the back where you unload the small scrap (across the street from pay scale) are miserable and have an attitude. It's not the customer's fault that you hate your job. I took my business elsewhere.

Had an old cast iron heater to recycle. Only got around $30 for it, but it beats paying $300 for someone to remove it. Was quick and easy to process. They did not help unload.

Went to this location for the first time (used phoenixville before it closed) Lady at the scale was very nice and I believe I got a fair price.

Great staff, always quick, efficient and helpful. Some of the best pricing around.

Used to bring aluminum cans with my grandfather back in the day and always loved the hustle bustle. Been there 3 times as an adult to trade in scrap and it was an awesome experience in and out. If you know what you have and you are organized they get you your money quick and back on the road.

I have brought tons & tons of scrap metal (ferrous & non ferrouse) to this yard on a weekly basis for years . I pulled in line on a Saturday 20 minutes before closing and when I got to the window the lady @ the scale turned the sign to close on me .I was stuck with a stake body load of metal on a holiday weekend . I have never returned to this yard since .. ???

Had a great experience! The lady at the window was kind and thoughtful! Show her respect and like anyone else she will return it! The guys working the yard were just as nice!

* this review is for the pottstown location* Where do I begin...I am a regular at the Phoenixville location my family and I have been going since they first opened and I have nothing but good things to say about them. My line of work creates an abundance of scrap metal that I take on a weekly basis. Today however was my first time st the pottstown yard. Being that both yards are owned by the same company, one would assume that the procedures would be relatively the same if not identical. I couldn’t have been more wrong. For starters they use a different way of getting on and off the scale, which I must admit is 5x better than Phoenixville. Where they fail is the incredible lack of signage and street markings. I’m getting ahead of myself here because inefficiencies of the fancy scale loading and unloading system are superficial compared to the complete disregard for polite human interaction. Ipulled on to the scale with my window about even with the building window. The woman opens the window and I quickly greeted her only, she did not greet me back. I had a feeling this would be a game of speak when spoken to where she thinks she holds all the cards. She said “pull up”, “off the scale?” I questioned, “no, so I can see what you have back there” she snapped back. Again I complied because this is a new system I am. It used to. In the nicest tone of voice I asked where the light iron pile was because that is what I had with me. Without any response she just held out her hand and looked at me. At this point I was standing next to my truck with one foot on and one off. There was a moment of silence before I clearly explained to her that I’ve been going to the Phoenixville yard my entire life almost on a weekly basis and that this was my first time at the pottstown yard. Her response “I need your drivers license”. This being all new to me I complied, I tried to joke saying that I never had to do this before. All she had to say way “yeah because they aren’t doing stuff right over there. And this is the about all the interaction until I got back on to weigh. WHICH OF COURSE I GOT SHORTCHANGED. Moral of the story is that this scrap location I’d by far the worst lIf you want to be treated like dirt and have tour your pay. I’ll never go there again after today.

Pulled up to have truck weighed with scrap metal to drop off... office lady was having a personal conversation with a friend who was on the scale, and instead of telling the friend "pam" (the one who gave them such a "good review below) to move off the scale to let other people be weighed and keep things moving, they just kept talking while we sat and waited, so I pulled up right behind her (not on the scale, just pulled forward to show that we had been waiting for awhile) and the office lady stuck her head out the window after her friend gave us a weird look as if we were in the wrong, and she told us to back off, well after not backing up the friend finally got into her truck (almost 15 min. Now) and pulled out. As we pulled up the office lady then told us to get behind the 4-5 car line that now formed because they wanted to talk and we did the wrong thing in waiting... we left and went to a better, cleaner scrap yard, and had way better service at "reliable" in pottstown

I'm done with this place. Do yourself a favor, do not sell your scrap here. I have sold my non-ferrous scrap metal here for years. Probably tons of copper and brass over that time. So, I'm no amateur. Today I pull up to the window to check in and the old woman with the buzz cut starts into me about waiting till the previous truck clears the scale before pulling up. I explained that I was watching and did not drive on the scale before the other truck left. She quickly told I me could leave if I was going to argue. I have been here many times and have dealt with the same woman's rude and disrespectful attitude many times. But today was over the top. I guess since I don't have a trailer load I'm not worth the bother. She should not be working at the window and being the face of this company. I wonder how many customers she has turned off. Yes, I will take her advice and leave, someone else can profit from my metal. Reliable Auto is right down the street and a joy to work with compared to this.

Woman who works the scale window is one of the most incredibly ignorant individuals I have ever had to do business with! I own an HVAC Co. which is based right around the corner, so using them for lunch money was nice. However, what they pay won't come close to covering the attorney fee's if I continue to recycle my scrap metal at their facility! The woman lacks the intellectual intelligence required for that type of position.

We have been bringing scrap metal and old appliances here for years. Getting paid definitely beats paying your garbage man $10 per item to haul away something or getting zip for your scrap from your recycle pickup. You need to realize this is an industrial facility that accepts consumers. They don't have people to remove your stuff. You won't be coddled. You have to go to the designated area and off load yourself. If it has rained recently, be prepared for mud. Their hours are 7:30 to 3:30 M-Th, 7:30-3:00 F and 8:00 to Noon on Sat. If you get in line too late for your transaction to be completed before closing, you will be turned away. The scrap value of your dishwasher isn't worth the overtime. So plan to be in line at least 30 minutes before closing. We are lucky to have them.

Not very friendly service. They also turned a away customers 15 minutes before their actual closing time after they make you wait in line for 20 minutes to get to the window to be served. Only place I know of where the customer is always wrong .

Went scrap yard in Pottstown. Women at scale was rude and ignorant. Told me as soon as she opened window they are not taking new customers. I have been to same yard many times. Will take my business elsewhere from now on.

They are used to dealing with experienced customers but I never found them to be anything less than courteous. It's a great way to recycle old appliances and scrap.
