This place is a total joke. My car was in the shop for four months due to needing a new engine. When I would call to get updates on the car, I would never get a response or they just wouldn’t answer the phone. I think they tried to take advantage of me because I was a woman, And I even spoke to the owner once or twice. When I would question the front desk guy Marvin, he was completely rude and so unprofessional that I don’t even know how he still has a job there. My car was out of there and within a week it was back in another garage. Please, please do not take your car here. I don’t feel like the men who work here know what they’re talking about.
Very efficient, professional and friendly. I went in for both inspections and oil change and had an appointment for a 2 hour window. They completed all within an hour, and let me know I needed a door handle fixed to pass inspection. Marvin and Landon at the front office immediately scheduled me for an appointment to fix the door. Marvin had already ordered a door handle and quoted me a price that was very reasonable and much less than the dealership would have charged. Everything was completed within 2 days. Thank you to all.. working on car!
Went there for the first time for state inspection. In and out in a very reasonable amount of time. One of the only places that has an area for you to wait while your car is being serviced.
Over $300.00 diagnostic fee just to tell me I needed a new clutch. Come on!! Total rip-off- 1.8 hours to hook it up to a machine and take it for a test drive? Absolutely ridiculous for a diagnostic fee. I was not followed up with- they would contact the dealership or warranty company and SIT ON IT- I had to call myself to get feedback! Very poor communication to the point where the CUSTOMER had to follow up with phone calls, take the bull by the horns and call the warranty company themselves after a FULL WEEK of waiting for an answer (but they will blame it on the warranty company even though I called myself and got an answer). Then to add insult to injury- I waited 15 minutes for them to bring the car to me after I told them I didn't want the repair!
Had our transmission was replaced here and Marvin was super helpful through out the whole process. We had a difficult aftermarket warranty that most shops wouldnt even accept but AAMCO was one of the few shops willing. The technician team worked very quickly and got our car finished as soon as they had the opportunity. AAMCO went way beyond my expectations and definitely would recommend getting your vehicle serviced here
I have a Carshield warranty, and a lot of places don't accept them. But these guys did. They explained the whole process to me and got the work done early. My car has been running great.
I took my car in for oil, change, alignment and brakes. I had a really great experience. The mechanic was extremely nice and professional. I feel confident that they Did a good job with my car
They were able to look at my car in a very timely manner, and we're understanding when I needed a few days to pick up my car. A little while after my experience they were able to email me a copy of my visit upon request. The people were very friendly and professional.
The guys did an excellent job, everything was explained very clearly there were no gotchas and in all the experience that I've had with having worked on on my vehicles by them they have always advised me correctly. I'd like to call out Marvin particularly for communicating well and having excellent customer service skills.

I called for an appointment, was in the next morning, had my car back within a couple hours. I went in for inspection & emission, went ahead and got an oil change and new air filter. They called prior to doing the oil change or air filter even though i mentioned needing both when I dropped my car off to be inspected. I also hadn't realized I didn't print my new insurance card, so I emailed it to them and they printed it for me right then.
AMAZING SERVICE and CARE! My journey with AAMCO Pottstown started in August 2023, I had recently had a diagnosis from the dealer that my transmission was shot and they weren’t able to perform a teardown requested by my extended warranty company. I figured it would be a fairly easy process since the claim was already open. Aamco did exactly that and a month or so later I was advised the auditor determined that the salvage in the transmission was caused by customer neglect/it was a pre-existing problem and I was then responsible for the teardown and repair/replacement. Aamco was willing to fight the determination to best help me with the cost of teardown, replacement/repair. After a few months the warranty company refused to budge. The total cost would’ve been close to $10k. I was so stressed trying to figure out how to get the funds to repair my car. The team looked into every resource that would assist me in replacing my transmission. In the end they were able to work it out and my car was fixed. I have never been so grateful for a team of people who barely knew me but cared enough to help me get my car fixed. Trust me they care about not only your vehicle, but you as well!! I will recommend them to anyone who asks!
BEWARE: DO NOT GO HERE. This location is beyond dishonest and they put my life at risk due to negligence. I would never recommend this location to anyone. Let me explain, I went in to get my brakes and rotors replaced. After receiving my vehicle I noticed that there was a loud (almost rubbing like) noise coming from one of my wheels when I accelerated. I then called in to ask about this new noise and the front desk clerk who was the main the point of contact throughout this entire process told me that I was informed of worn wheel bearings when I picked up my car after getting my brakes replaced (this was a flat out lie as it wasn't on any paperwork nor noted. I certainly would've scheduled an appointment at that time if that was the case). This front desk clerk then quoted me $1,500+ to replace both wheel bearings. I decided that was ridiculous as my car is in great condition and only needed new brakes and rotors. So, I went to get a second opinion and was told that my wheel bearing were perfectly fine (they would've charged $900 for both wheel bearings) and informed me that I was missing a LUGNUT from one of my tires. I was literally driving around with a missing lug nut. This not only neglect and poor care but it was also extremely dangerous. I'm just thankful it wasn't my mother or grandmother as they would've went through with a $1,500 repair they didn't need while driving around with a missing lug nut. (I just hope the old lady in front of me was treated with respect and honesty as I certainly was not). Moral of the story DO NOT GO HERE and always get a second opinion. Flat out horrible!
Just had my jeeps CVT transmission overhauled. One of FEW shops too even consider performing this type of service. Awesome experience, quick and timely service, price point was great and the Jeep has never run better!! A plus… they do all aspects of automotive repair!! My new one stop shop!!
My car went in for transmission issues.4000.00 later We picked up the car, tried to drive it home, which is two hours away. The car was shaking, never did this before. Within an hour of driving home we had to pull over because the transmission was over heating, never an issue before. So, we took it back. They said it was covered by warranty. Ok Car gets fixed, but it's still shaking, like something is loose. There is no warning lights or codes to scan, just now the engine is shaking. I was told that it is misfiring from the spark plugs and that it would be 700 plus to fix, and if that isn't the issue making the car shake, they will look further into it. I had a mechanic, look at the sparkplug, he said everything is fine with them. So now I have to pay 700 to get Aamco to fix an issue, that may not be an issue just to get them to find the problem of the shaking that didn't happen until they worked on my car. Or I take my car somewhere else, and then the warranty they provide is void. Let's not forget the 4000.00 I was charged for the original bill just to get a car back that isn't running correctly.
After moving to PA, I needed to find a new AAMCO to perform an annual inspection on my classic car's transmission for the warranty to stay current and valid.
After a few issues and runaround from another AAMCO shop I brought it to Joe and Marvin. They addressed the issues and got me back on the road. One of the visits took all day but it wasn't their fault. Just waiting on parts. These guys were patient, HONEST and super professional. This year's visit took less than 30 minutes! I'd bring any future trans work to this shop in a heartbeat. Thanks!
Hands down the best experience I have ever had at a mechanic. Every place I’ve ever been to in the past has taken advantage of the fact that I knew nothing about cars and would say a million things were wrong, turning a $30 oil change into a $1600 repair that most likely wasn’t needed. I brought my car in because it was riding rough and having trouble accelerating, and through a google search I determined it was most likely something to do with the exhaust leaking. I also needed my inspection done so I looked up places that had financing available in case it was an expensive repair. Through the whole process they would call me with updates, and gave me a breakdown of everything that needed repair and the cost for each part individually. Unfortunately my entire exhaust system needed replaced, but the pricing was, in my opinion, very fair, as with those previous places I’ve paid just about as much for much less work. They ordered my parts and got started as soon as I got approved for the financing, and it was ready to go just 3 days later. The awesome guys at AAMCO have made this the only place I will take my car from now on! Thank you guys so much!
After buying a lemon I brought my car to Joe and Marvin. They were always up front and polite. They never did or recommended unneeded work. Estimates for work were pretty close to the actual price. They never did any work before calling and having me approve it first. They also stand behind their work. I 100% would recommend them to anyone and will continue to use them as my new mechanics.

Great experience with this location! When my transmission failed I probably reached out to 10+ independent local garages and 3 dealers. No one could even look at my truck for 3 weeks. Both Marvin & Joe were responsive and proactive throughout the process in order to help me get my truck repaired. After weighing all the options, it was decided a full trans replacement was the best course of action. My vehicle was returned to me within 3 weeks total, very satisfied!

I had a great experience! Marvin was nice and made sure it got done. I had an oil change done right when they opened and it was finished under the 30 mins estimate. He honored the coupon pricing with no issues, run around, or mysteriously it costs more because of my car. I will always come back here and hope it can be my new shop for maintenance. I also like that a woman was working in the back and did my oil change. You don't see it a lot and I love to see it! And finally a place that didn't turn off my auto headlights and they reset the maintenance reminder.
I recently had a few issues with my vehicle. Now I’m new to the whole get your car fixed world so I’ve never been to a mechanic and always have anxiety about trying to find one I can TRUST and AFFORD. Well needless to say AAMCO is the one. Not only did they take me in a heartbeat with no call ahead or anything but all THREE times I went I received phenomenal customer service. Answered every question I asked and fixed my car and had it back to me within the same exact day of dropping it off. She runs better then when I first bought her. NOT ONLY ALL THAT but they are in my personal opinion affordable. Especially since I was paying out of pocket and not through insurance. They were more then willing to work with me payment wise which was amazing since I’m a single father it helped so much! I will without question or a single doubt in my mind will be going back if my car needs some TLC again. Shout out to the whole aamco crew y’all earned yourselves a loyal repeat customer!
Every problem that I needed to be addressed was addressed. The correct parts were ordered. All parts were properly installed. My car is running smoothly after the repairs were completed. Joe the owner was friendly and engaging. Marvin, Office Manager was on point with which repairs were necessary. My schedule is very busy but he made time to get the work done at my convenience. The mechanic did a great job fixing my vehicle which is a 2008 (older vehicle). I wish to extend my thanks to the team at Aamco Pottstown for keeping a one car family's vehicle up and running on the road!
