My whole family has been going to Wilkie for years, he's a good honest man and a good mechanic. Let me know when stuff is starting to wear out before it's worn out, fair pricing, quick turnaround, always available when I need him. Will communicate via text if that's your preference, otherwise will call. A few years ago my (now) husband went to another mechanic, they called and gave him a quote for work, and when he said he wanted to take it somewhere else they said 'oops too bad, we already started and your car is all disassembled.' - Never happened to me with Wilkie. Sorry to wax poetic but your mechanic should be someone you trust. You're handing them a machine worth thousands of dollars, hoping they do right by you and your vehicle. A shady mechanic is going to overcharge, take too long, do poor work, possibly endanger your life, possibly drain your wallet. If I had to pick anyone outside of my family and friend group to trust with some major medical/life decision, I'd gladly pick Wilkie. Dude even drove to the shop after hours to give me back my keys because I'm a dummy. He's got a vending machine out front where you can buy a drink for a dollar, NBD but it's almost impossible to buy a drink from a vending machine for less than $1.50 nowadays. If you're a repeat customer he'll dispose of your car batteries or used oil for you. It's the little ways he treats you like family.
My typical mechanic was out this week. He recommend Wilkinsons' Tire & Auto. Called once, no answer. Called the second time and an older gentleman answered the phone with an impatient tone. I answered by saying, "How are you doing today?" After saying 'what' a couple of times, he said, "what do you want?" I promptly hung up.
I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps he thought I was a telemarketer. If so, I'd be happy to change my review rating. Until then, it is what it is. I was unable to use their service, so that was not taken into consideration. -- Update: The owner replied below, which I appreciate. I will keep the original post up, but have updated my review. It is at 4 stars because I was still unable to use their services. I trust my mechanic, and if he recommends them in his absence, then they are worth giving your business to. Check them out.
Efficient . Didn't have to wait long. Not exactly what I would call "friendly", but that's ok. They're not in the business to make friends evidently. At $30, they probably charged me more than what a simple changing of a tire should be.
Staff was friendly. I needed new tires and I brought my car in. They changed them right away for me. I appreciate good service. I’ll be back for my inspection next month. Thank you
My tire blew out while driving. I searched for services in the area and found them. AAA towed my car there and I wasn't expecting it to be done until the next day. They were done in a couple hours. Great service and a reasonable price!!! They were awesome!
Very straightforward job, diagnosing a leaking tire and then replacing it when the leak couldn't be fixed. Very fast and accommodating service set them apart, even with a relatively simple job. Wilkonsons will definitely be the first place I'll go next time my car needs something done.
I had to take my daughter to the hospital up the street and came out to TWO VERY close to flat tires. GPS showed this was the closest tire shop to the hospital. I went in, spoke with one of the mechanics/technicians and asked if they could plug my tire(s). He Never even came out to assess my situation, but said "we can! But we can't for another hour or so. Come back in an hour!" If my tires are flat and I am asking for flat tire service, how can I leave and come back in an hour?! Well, due to that, I will NEVER be back, let alone in an hour!
