Very helpful staff. They carry a wide selection of beautiful lumber products. They even have some odds and ends pieces for small projects.

Great selection and knowledgeable staff! Large hardwood selection… I ended up buying this funky sycamore log instead.

Today was my first time in. I am absolutely amazed! This place is massive they have every kind of wood under the sun. The quality of the material they carry is top-notch. And on top of that the friendliest bunch of people you will ever meet. I will definitely be back in the future.

Favorite lumber yard around! Service is always great and prices are always fair. I never have trouble picking out what I need. The selection of exotic woods and slabs is incredible as well. Just got to use the new online ordering for a piece I was in a pinch for, shipping was fast and fair. Nice to know I don't always have to make the long drive for the small stuff.

Excellent selection and pricing. The staff are also very knowledgeable and very pleasant. I have nothing but good things to say about this place and have no reason to go anywhere else when I need good lumber for a project. I’ll be going for some maple tomorrow!

We had a custom woodworking project and needed around 1500 feet of soft maple and we tried Groff and Groff rather than our usual wood supplier. We were very happy with the quality and service at Groff and Groff. My client couldn't be happier and that makes me happy. Thanks to the team at Groff and Groff.

Groff & Groff is amazing! We've been ordering from them for a few years, and they're always incredibly friendly and helpful. Their prices are great, and their ship times are very fast. Couldn't ask for more, they're just such a pleasure to work with!

I love it here, and I am very lucky to have a place like this near Lancaster. I have been coming here for years and is my go-to for all of my lumber.

Came in for a long (12’) live edge slab for a home project. I was blown away by the selection, prices, and service. Ended up getting a plank just shy of 12’; milled and cut in half for a straight edge. Incredible quality and a great price. Shout out to Luke, who was amazing - he helped me through the entire process, and even helped me load both pieces. I’ll definitely be back for more projects in the future.

Normally I would recommend Groff Lumber but recently the last few visits have been unpleasant, especially if John isn’t around. I usually have smaller projects and I purchase a wide array of rough sawn lumber. I have a smaller SUV and cant haul 12’ stock. I asked for some reasonable 5’-8’ cuts and which amounted to $200-300 total and gentleman that helped me looked annoyed that I wanted something cut, I would have happily taken shorter existing pieces but there were none in the racks of the species I wanted. There also seems to be some “good ol boy” unspoken rules that Im not aware of. I didn’t realize buying lumber had special etiquette rules…its very intimidating for people who are new to wood working.

THIS IS THE PLACE. Hi, hello. I’m a wood carver and plan to start selling my work online @roo.k.arvings on Instagram, and it’s all thanks to Groff & Groff. When my grandfather approached me saying there was a lumber warehouse I needed to check out, I think I laughed. “Okay, whatever.” We drove a bit to get there, but oh, was it worth is. Groff & Groff Lumber doesn’t look like much from the outside looking in. Gravel, trucks, the sound of power tools—you get the gist. But once you get inside and ask to see their wood for sale…sweet Jesus. Wood wood everywhere, and not one un-unique. If you could think up some exotic wood—bloodwood, snakewood, veria wood—it was there, and lots of it. Hardwood and softwood in bulk. It was beautiful. I had no idea wood came in so many different colors. But the big slabs of wood aren’t my forte, see, I carve on a budget. I’m a broke high school student who doesn’t like spending too much and looking at the price tags on the wood made me a little nauseous (they weren’t /that/ bad, in fact they were quite good). But it was no problem because, low and behold, there was a bin in the corner full of sticks of wood (maybe a yard each?) sold for $1. While I wasn’t initially impressed with the width and variety, I grabbed three and checked out. I got home and my grandfather popped out the jigsaw and sand belt, gave a little tutorial on how to not cut off all of my fingers, and left me be to see what I could do. Surprisingly enough, I didn’t cut off all of my fingers, and, surprisingly enough, that “cheap” scrap wood let me carve the cutest little steggies. The dark walnut made me want to CRY, it was such a pleasure working with. My grandfather came out and asked if I was alright, and I said yeah, that I was just really giddy and excited. It’s just that good-wood vibe—carvers, you get what I mean. I plan on opening an online shop in September but, until then, I need to buy more wood. And you better believe I’m going back to Groff & Groff.

Great selection of good quality hardwoods at fair prices. I have made many, many pieces from their stock for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. Friendly, helpful staff. Ever growing selection including slabs.

We stopped by looking for materials to make a wedding arch for our wedding. Everyone there was really polite and super helpful! They ended up giving us some old lumber that wasn’t useful to them anymore for free. Yet it was perfect for our little home made project. God bless them and the little things in life!

They have an incredible selection and an abundant amount of each. I saw some very rare woods that would be great for knife handles and other tools. The prices are very good,, lots of live edge selections too at an incredible price. I will definitely be going down there more.

Worth the 3 hour round-trip ride. Was a newbie at buying hardwood; they were understanding and helpful...they answered all my questions. I brought about 50bf of Walnut this past friday, totally satisfied how everything turned out.Their milling service is flawless. All their employees were friendly. Definitely will be back.

Good selection. Good prices. Overall a great way to spend a morning. Today I picked up some ash, butternut and sapele. Service was handy but not intrusive. I'll be back for sure.

Groff & Groff is the only place I'll buy hardwood lumber. These folks are great to work with, and the quality of their lumber is matched by the quality of their customer service. There are other sawmills and lumber dealers closer much closer to me, but the product, service, and price at Groff's makes it worth the drive every time.

Top notch business with helpful and friendly staff. Selection and quality of lumber is excellent. A woodworkers paradise. Prices are more than fair and easily available on their website. They offer milling which I've found indispensable. The guys on the floor are happy to help. Not too far from Philadelphia and a lovely drive through Amish country. Go pick through the piles and make some furniture.

Great hardwood and exotic wood selection. They are very accommodating and helpful. I was able to sort through 2 units of Walnut to find pieces that were suitable for my needs. The employees seem to genuinely enjoy what they do!

Was directed here by my local saw mill, Frank Thomas in Fallston, because he did not carry black walnut. Apparently this wood has strict guidelines about where it is cut down and cant be carried across state lines. Something to do with an invasive insect they are trying to control. Regardless the staff and facility are top notch at Groff and Groff!! They were very helpful and patient in finding what I needed when I explained my project to them. The final product they delivered was outstanding. I made a custom pantry for a customer and also some cutting boards. Their whole showroom and sales floor is amazing to look at even if you are not buying anything. worth the stopin if you are in the area.

I don't know much about wood myself, but the employees were really helpful and friendly without being in your face. The selection seemed to be really good too, even slightly overwhelming to someone new to woodworking.

I absolutely love this place. So many different kinds of wood to choose from for any kind of project. I come several times a month to see what's new. The staff here are very helpful and friendly. I can't say enough good things about this place. In fact, I'm heading there again today.
