It's usually busy when we take in our stuff but if you have time to wait.. 10 minutes or so the process goes pretty fast and the easy convenient machine spits out your money after you scan the bar code off the receipt and on the way you go. Since it's summer time the bay door is always open and if you have to be weighed you might have to sit in your car for a few if they are busy but no big deal if you want to wait if not the other side is now open for steel. That side has to be accessed from buffalo road but is also AIM. The guys that work the window on both sides are friendly and approachable and make our trips easy.

The new side off of Buffalo Rd runs pretty smoothly and is in full swing. If you follow "Mr. Bowtie's" directions at the window when you pull up on the scale, things go the way they are supposed to go and you will be in and out in no time. Everyone is very nice and respectful! They keep the grounds free of metal where the public drives in to the steel pile or over to the building where you have other metal weighed out like copper, aluminum cans and siding or whatever you bring in that isn't steel. The prices are usually competitive and fair. My husband and I are repeat customers. They also run specials and if you sign up they send texts to let you know what and when like last Wednesday, I believe it was $10 more a ton for steel and hey $10 is more than I went there with.
Everyone that I dealt with was very friendly, knowledgeable and willing to go the extra step to help out a customer. Maybe the look of confusion on my face gave it away, but someone there can always tell when you need a direction or advice, and jump in to help.
My first time using AIM, not my first time recycling metals. The signs were good for pointing me into the building and someone helped get to the right place to unload. Processing was quick and payment a little slower the first time than it will be in the future since I will be in their system. I was a little pleasantly surprised that my small pile was worth as much as it was. More than I figured it would be.
I would go there again.
There are mostly different employees. The once familiar system keeps.changing each time we go. Might start going to the other place...Haven't decided yet
I honestly don’t understand how this place can get any good reviews. My 84-year old dad went there today to drop off a big load of aluminum cans. He went into an open door where he saw a sign indicating “cans only.” It was dark and no one was to be seen so he called out, “Hello…” After a few more minutes, he called out again. After more time and another “Hello…” a guy yelled with clear irritation, “I’m coming!” After several more minutes, a guy turned up on a jitney. With more irritation, he told my Dad that they “don’t do that here anymore” and he would have to “drive around the side and wait in line.” OK…no signs anywhere except where my dad stood…and only one open door. Dad drove around and got behind 2 vehicles. After 15 minutes, there was still no movement or activity so he left. What a TERRIBLE way to do business! And the nasty guy on the jitney should be taught some respect for senior citizens. Contrast this with Lincoln Recycling, which is where Dad went next. Pleasant, smooth transaction AND they paid more per pound than Aim. Do yourself a favor, save time and just go straight to Lincoln Recycling.
Condescending cashier (with bowtie). At least pretend to try to be professional. Also, dude...youre a CASHIER. Tons of papers to fill out for $5 of aluminum. On the plus side, they rounded up from $4.64 to $5.
I've came here a lot over the last or more. The office guy is always genuine, courteous, and professional. I've enjoyed coming here and usually don't have to wait more than 20 minutes. It's actually been a really decent experience every time. Employees are friendly enough I mean it's not exactly a people person job. Lol. But it's up front and honest. Just beware if driving your vehicle in. The middle bay door is the main entrance, don't drive or walk in the through the 1st bay door. Also, this is a scrap yard and there may be nails, or screws on floor. Tires can get punctured and they're not liable for damages. So, use caution. Great place, good prices, and awesome staff. I love it. After 2 years, still love this place and visit it frequently.
Everyone is nice and respectful and professional and service is always good and prices are always fair I don't go anywhere else to turn scrap in put here
Employees are very pleasant and helpful! I wasn’t sure what to do when I arrived and the employees were informative and great about unloading my recyclables. Definitely worth the trip there to recycle!
The service very prompt and the staff is very helpful! The yard.was very clean and the prices were fantastic! I would definitely refer AIiM Recycling of Erie to anyone that may need their services!
Price for cans was fair, like normal. First time I've been there since Covid restrictions. Don't really like the new procedures hopefully they change back after June 28th when the governor has canceled all restrictions.
