The driver of tow truck 78, license plate 13163, 81 speed limit is 70mph not 85-90mph. DOT should do some poking with these guys, obviously they are wreckless. Don't trust this company, they take risks.
On a recent road trip my converted van popped a brake line. These guys fixed it up quickly to get us home. They could've kept us much longer and made more money with more permanent repairs ordering new parts and such but they knew we were out of state and far from home and didn't take advantage of that fact. The mechanic actually apologized the initial band aid fix didn't work and I'd have to stay overnight at a nearby hotel (that they drove us to as well without being asked).
I wasn't sure if it was rude to say so I didn't say anything to him but prior to calling John's Mobile repair I had called 18 other auto repair places in Carlisle, ranging from one man garages to corporate chains. I had actually skipped over calling John's Mobile repair because the preview image and name made it seem like they only service trucks. All of the other auto repair places said the van could possibly maybe be seen that day if we were lucky but mostly likely it'd be checked out the next day, and the repairs themselves would begin a week later assuming it was a simply fix. I got desperate and called John's Mobile repair anyway who ended up both looking at and making first attempts same day. The mechanic was knowledgeable and could quickly and concisely explain what was wrong and why the first attempt didn't work and why the repair he'd attempt when his shift started next day would most likely be successful. Which it was and got the last 6 hour leg of the return trip without incident.
This review is exactly one week after getting home. If I had gone with any of the other auto repair places in carlisle, repairs would have been completed around this time.
They were super nice and polite too but I'm not sure if that's the norm in PA, in Massachusetts that's rare and it'd be a massive plus. So I figured I'd make note of it.
Ran up a $6,000 tab only to get my truck towed out of their yard to a different shop. After weeks of trial and error and using my truck as a diagnosis experiment they still had no answers. 0/10.
Got truck towed for being out of service and got state inspection done,these guys are professional,reasonable,quick and very cooperative. I'm greatfull to Tiff K (front desk) Bob& Brad of thier excellent service. God Bless
So, was heading to my new home, taking the turnpike and right after I left it, car shuts off! My truck, attached to my home, sat out there and everyone else was shutting down for a Friday. But then, I was redirected to here. Took me in Friday at closing, let me and my partner with our pets stay in the trailer and they provided electricity. A job I thought was gonna cost a couple thousand turned out to be just under $500. Excellent service start to finish. Even helped after they lost one of the balancing arms for the hitch hookup. I fully recommend them!
Avoid this shop at all cost , they do not know what they are doing and the will continue to run up a bill and keep guessing until hopefully they find the problem. Left with a 3 thousand dollar bill and my truck had to be towed. What a waste of time and money
Terrible Service – Stay Away!
This shop is dishonest and unprofessional. We asked if they had the Tech Tool software before they came out, and they said yes. When they arrived, they didn’t have it and couldn’t fix the truck, yet they still charged us $399.09 for nothing. They even threatened my driver, saying they’d tow the truck and charge more. Avoid this place at all costs!
They are most polite, nice, kind scammers I’ve ever seen.
By my understanding “police officers” who very close friend of them take(force) trucks to their shop ( no one goes by choice) and they charge whatever they want , but do almost nothing. Am I wrong?

I door dash part time and had just dropped off a food delivery to this establishment and then ironically, locked my keys in my car 1.3 miles away from their shop. The gentleman that came was quick, professional and friendly. The cost was $191.99
They charge me $325 for towing my sedan car for less than one mile. My car broke down and the police called them. I had to pay that out of pocket. They hid my keys to force me let it in their location so they can add more storage fees.
Do not have confidence in this place.. left my truck at their shop not running and returned a week later with the truck still not running and a $2600 bill.. claim they put 20hrs of labor.. yeah right!!! ripped me off ..had to be towed to Freightliner .. truck was fixed in 5hrs.. their guess work will cost you
This is a scam company. When you call and collect your credit card information, they will not send any mechanic to your place, You didn't even see anyone show up and you were charged $194 !It's just robbery! Believe me, such a low rating is proof. I hope it helps you, don't be robbed like me.
Nick and Lori at John’s Mobile Repair were amazing! Lori was so helpful and professional when I called, and Nick fixed our truck quickly and explained everything clearly. I highly recommend them!
I was thoroughly impressed that I received a call back from John's Mobile Repair Service on a Saturday. I would have used them for my repair but I needed it to happen right away. The phone call from them was completely respectful and would have served my purpose if I wouldn't have needed immediate service.
Brian got to my car with its flat tire within 45 minutes, and towed it and me right to a garage that he knew would have the type of tire I needed. Fast, super-friendly service. Highly recommend!
You don’t get any better than this place. I broke down in my 18 wheeler, needed a tow and repairs I called them at 7am they came and towed my truck to their shop replaced the starter and had me back on the road by noon and the prices for all the services, towing, parts and labor were all extremely fair. No way I could have gotten a better deal anywhere else. I thank the whole crew for helping me get back to work because of all you my delivery will still be on time. We need more shops like this one. I recommend this shop to anyone needing services.
I am not recommend anyone to call this people for road service. I called them because my tire blows and they send me some slow dude with bad attitude and it took him 3 hr to change two Trucktor tire . Then they charged me 3 hr labor which is not more than an hr work . The price they tell you over then phone and the price they charge at the end of service is way different. This place is scam .
Car trouble on the turnpike at a rest station far from home. Travis (our driver) got to us quicker than promised, very friendly and professional. Towed my car 80 miles home and stayed in communication with us when he arrived with the car. They took the stress out of an inconvenient situation. Would definitely recommend. Trunk of the car won't close. I was on the way from NJ to VA when that happened. I called my insurance to provide a tow-truck and John's service fixed it at least temporarily so that I can continue my journey. Very positive experience overall and I highly recommend them. They provide towing services as well. Thank you guys!
I'm not one for writing reviews, but I felt the service I received after having car trouble on the Turn Pike needed mentioning. Pleasantly surprised that my tow arrived less than 20 minutes after I placed my call. The driver (Brian) was the BEST!. Taking with him seemed to ease my burdens during a normally stressful event. He offered the services of their shop but it being Saturday I would have to wait until Monday to get work done and I wanted to get to my loved ones only a hour away so he dropped me at Auto Zone for a battery and I was one my way. Can't thank Brian enough for everything...... Give that man a raise :) Let Brian know that I made it to Lancaster and had the alternator put in there on Monday.
Had facility put a hole in our trailer roof. Johns mobile came out in a more then timely manner and had me back on the road. Everyone including the mechanic was very pleasant. Only reason it’s not 5 stars is because I felt the price was a bit steep for the type of patch that was installed, but I’d definitely call them again
I usually don't review places but since Dave asked me to write a review if we made it home safely, here it is. We needed towed on the Turnpike for a flat tire. Service was fast and the driver was great. Expensive but I suppose that’s to be expected. We were able to get back on the road and make it home safely, which of course is the most important factor. Three star rating is due to the cost of service and the repair itself. We were charged over $100 for a valve stem replacement and by the time we returned home and went to our local tire shop the same problem was already reoccurring. We made it home safely, but the cause of the problem wasn’t fixed properly.
Just wanted to send my compliments to both Justin and Davey. We worked with them a couple weeks ago when an RV we rented broke down with 6 hours left in our journey home, and they took care of sourcing and installing the part we needed on a Saturday no less to get us back on the road and safely home. The work queue seemed quite busy at the time with a car show going on in the area and these gentlemen were very sympathetic to our being stuck during the previous night and for several hours the next day with no vacancy in any of the local hotels and a family of 4 and our dog essentially "living" out of the waiting room for most of the day. Thanks again for your great service John's!
On a 7 hour trip across state boarders our car got a flat. We called John’s Mobile Repair and in no time Brian was there to pick us up. Extremely kind and understanding to our situation, he drove us to a place to fix the car and then dropped us at a hotel. He was very interesting to talk to and all around a great guy, he helped us so much in such a stressful situation I would happily recommend him to anyone in need.
A.C. in truck stopped working. Wednesday John's repair came to where I was at to troubleshoot which I wanted to ensure nothing was wrong with the engine. Great service and very professional.
On Monday after the show repair to ac made at the shop. After they where done I seen that I also had broken trailer Spring bracket with out hesitation John's crew was on it.
One more night in the parking lot camping and we were done.

I felt the price paid was more than fair on both repairs.
We had one of our drivers get the front end of her tractor stuck in a ditch. Our owner operator couldn’t find anyone to pull her out so she allowed the state trooper to call this place. One truck came out and in that truck was the driver and a teenager. In under 30 minutes time the tow truck was able to pull us out 5 feet(mind you the teenager just stood there and watched). They asked if we wanted them to tow us to their shop to fix a brake chamber. We told them no and drove the truck to the shop by ourselves instead. Rob told my driver that the cost for the tow AND the brake chamber repair would be $1120 total. The mechanic Clay could not get to the brake chamber today, but then told the driver it would still be $1120 just for the tow. Obviously very confused I called and spoke to Clay myself. His explanation was $350 per hour for the one truck (minimum of 2 hours) but then said there is a separate charge of $105 per person that arrived on the truck (also a minimum of 2 hours). Making $700 for the truck that came out but then having to pay an extra $420 for the driver and teenager. NEVER in this business have I heard of any tow company charging me for the people in the truck on top of the truck itself. One guy(kid) just stood there and watched!! When a tow company gives you an hourly rate that is always the rate with the driver included. That’s the rate that pays the driver! I asked multiple times to speak with Rob but Clay said he was no longer there. I asked for his phone number, for the owners number, for anyone else’s phone number and Clay kept telling me flat out no. I have no way of knowing if he was pocketing the extra $420 or not. Horrible customer service! I would not recommend this place to anyone. STAY AWAY FROM this place. Completely unprofessional and a rip off. They take advantage of truck drivers. A 30 minute job(if that) costs $1120 dollars. Especially during all of this Covid stuff going on when people are already struggling to make money.
This is an awesome place to have work done. Our 40’ motor home had to be towed from Dillsburg on a Saturday and no one was open to do it. Advised to call John’s and they called someone out. We stayed in their parking lot until Monday. They were quick to find the cause and repair it. Everyone was so nice. The day after we left they called to inform us we left our ladders there and they delivered them to us. They are efficient and go the extra mile for service. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Excellent service and very knowledgeable mechanics, the best of the best, they charge a $105 per hour which is a very good labor rate for quality work. Dealerships charge upwards of a $140 per hour, they work on all makes and models, a lot of shops won’t work on your Mack or Volvo, John’s Mobile repair shop will and have your tractor back up and running without a lot of downtime, a very honest shop, some local shops only charge $60-80 per hour but just keep in mind cheap work isn’t good and good work isn’t cheap. You get what you pay for, I wouldn’t take my truck anywhere else.
