Customer service good as always. But doubling the prices in your electronics/appliance section (I'm assuming to match the ridiculous prices at Union Deposit Rd.) People aren't even buying it at half price. Same overpriced stuff sitting on the shelves for weeks. One would think the goal is to keep the stuff moving out the door so you can put new stuff on the shelves. Look I get it... Salvation Army is struggling.. and there's more hopeless drug addiction than ever to support because times are pretty desperate. I suppose we have different theories on how to raise those funds.
Went to this thrift on a whim, never having been before. Was very pleasantly surprised how clean and orderly items were. Clothes are organized by type, then color. Not size. So plan on spending extra time looking, if youre after clothing. Womens section was a goldmine for us & we left with many items. Most shirts were 3-5$, some with half off tags. Staff was kind and cashiers were efficiently working through the line at registers. Hangers are asked to be removed before checkout.
this place is a joke, the staff is very unhelpful won't let me pick up my couch i already paid for after renting a trailer I go there at 530 store don't close till 7 then they tell me I can't take it I have to be there from 9 to 3 this place is a joke an I will never buy anything here again
I am a new mom with a six month old. I had my baby in one hand and was pushing my cart with the other. I brought my clothes to the counter and instead of helping me get the hangers off the clothe to ring me up, because obviously my hands were full, the clerk told I needed to remove the hangers myself. Obviously this is a new store policy, but a little kindness to a new mom would have gone a long way. He just stood there and watched me struggle. :/ I might go to a different thrift store next time where I don’t have to remove all the hangers myself to purchase an item.

Found an actually pissed pair of pants here once. Not a joke. They will sell actual trash to you. Customer service is terrible, prices are bad too. They do have some good furniture sometimes. I got a nice small couch for $80, clean, comfortable, with a lot of life left. Can always find some decent CDs if you're willing to look. Electronics section is always a skip, they always have total junk. Did I mention customer service is terrible? Not a single friendly person works here.
Older man at the counter I thought must have been on break… there was a line of customers and he was just reading a newspaper instead of taking the next customer. Eventually after like 5-10 minutes of casually flipping through the pages, he took a customer. Very odd. Zero sense of urgency… was running late for work. Otherwise love this store and the rest of the staff for the most part. This particular cashier I’ve seen similar issues with in the past treating customers this way.
I was at the store this past Saturday 10/19/24. The store was filthy, the selection was lacking (saw some awesome stuff for a 1970/80s party), but the worst part of my time there was deplorable customer service, or should I say lack there of. The manager of the store was yelling/screeching through the intercom, slamming carts, snarling at customers, complaining about customers (with in ear shot of said customers), was attempting to intimate the customers that were shopping and not moving up to her expectations. The absloute worst part of my experience was when I watched a customer come to the counter and ask "can you please help me?" And this rude, and I would even say crude woman (aka the manager) looked him in the eye and said "no, I don't have time to deal with you." The poor guy looked defeated and a customer in Line attempted to assist him. I was appalled by the way she treated the customers. Upon being rung up,I asked the cashier if the manager was there and he then informed me it was her, I said oh boy Ms. Personality? When we made reference to her being happy we are the last customers of the night and she'll be happy to see us gone the kind and sweet older gentleman cashier expressed how she "probably wishes I wasn't here either. What a sad, disappointing trip! I pray that this corporation doesn't treat the ones who need their help are treated better than we were. I hate padding the top tier of a company, but at least the competitor shows respect. Can't imagine having this as an only option. 1 star because I couldn't give it a negative star rating. I really hope the owner actually sees this and does something about this! No one should be treated like this. I am not usually the one to report businesses, but the BBB definately knows about this.
I just walked out of the store and am appalled at my overall experience and will not return.
The store manager, older lady, blonde hair and nasty attitude was yelling, more like screaming across the store for people to stay away from the dressing rooms. There were children in the store at the time and they were horrified. The store is nasty and the selection was awful however That is out of control most of the time. The manager of this store does not, I repeat, does not need to work with the general public. Slamming carts, screaming in the intercom system, and rudely smirking when making eye contact.
I HAVE NEVER EVER BEEN IN A STORE THAT HAD SO MUCH TENSION AND HATEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE!
I will never return- this needs to be addressed ASAP by the store owner!!!!!
The BBB will be following up on this situation! To think that this is an organization that assist others who are in need is the epitome of sad. I hope this situation is addressed appropriately and swiftly.
We had a bad experience here. I can over look a thrift store being dirty but this one was gross! The items on the shelves were dirty and broken! While I can get over those things, I cannot get over how rude the clerk was at the counter! She made us bag our own items, which I am fine with if you ask me nicely but there was nothing nice about this lady. She often rolled her eyes and was just miserable! Even though I was bagging my own items, she was trying to tell me how to do it and when I didn't do it like she wanted, she rolled her eyes and sighed! Very unprofessional.
This store is an amazing place to find some great deals. I come regularly and always get so lost in all the items they have and the prices are nothing short of amazing and some days they have amazing sales. Love this gem of a place
These people do not have tactics to work with people, they are disrespectful, I had some vouchers for clothes and they made me feel terrible, the lady who charged me even told me that that is why she did not like to do that for the simple fact of that the clothes went beyond what the voucher did, when I very kindly told him that I was going to pay for the difference. look for people with a desire to work and who are not so undesirable, put young people with a desire to work and who are agile. I went to pay something else and another cashier told me I can't help you because I don't charge with a voucher and in a very ugly tone.
This location is small when compared to many other locations but that doesn't take away from the selection that you can find. I shop here to save money on my young daughters (3 and 5 years old) clothing and books. I am able to get quality name brand clothes and educational books for a fraction of the cost. Just like with any discount or thrift store you must spend some extra time to sift through all the items but it's worth it.
Found some cool tees and they had a bin with plush for 2 for $0.99 ? the staff was super friendly and the store was very clean . I will definitely stop here next time I’m in town.
First time visit. Easy access and ample parking. The store was clean and had a wide selection of all types of clothing. Also had a selection of shoes dishes and furniture items. Employees were friendly and helpful. Who knows they may just have what your looking for. Would return if in the area again.
Huge store with lots of selection. The only thing I dont care for is all Salvation Army stores have clothes by color and not size. Found some designer clothing for little cost. Cashiers were friendly and checkout was efficient and quick. Would definitely go back.
Probably the nicest salvation army I've ever been to. They had so many options along with some newer items. If your looking for jeans they have such a wide selection. I came out with some pretty good finds and I'm satisfied with everything. Definitely would shop there again.
Has a great selection of clothing. I always find cute clothes in good condition. One day I went and got a Zara jacket from their warehouse sale for $30 that was originally $128. The cashiers aren't always friendly, but the item selection makes up for it.
Prices are a little higher than expected. I went looking for mixing bowls and some other stuff for my kitchen and was pleasantly surprised at the selection. The shelves could use a little more organization and order things are kind of just thrown on a shelf and there is no organization to any of the shelves really.
I love going to this Salvation Army location and go almost every week. I've gotten many great deals there, furniture, kitchen items, clothes, kids' things, sheets and towels, and costume jewelry. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful; the only names I know are Nancy, David, Joanne, and Keith. I would appreciate more special days (e.g. senior half off), but the prices are low enough that that doesn't matter too much. The store is fairly well organized and reasonably clean - can't expect more than that for a second-hand store. There is plenty of parking too.
Tried to donate no longer used items using their pickup service. Skiis and bike were taken. Dresser was turned away due to incredibly minor scratches (see photo). Artificial Christmas tree (fully functioning) was turned away due to it not being October or November. Note the date of this review (September 16). Writing this to let others know to be ready for extremely picky pick-up service. (Also- had to call to find these reasons out. No explanation was left behind).
Very organized, clean and easy to get through the aisles. Lots of clothes, shoes and accessories. However be warned that most items have been sorted by color first. Lots of books, DVDS, records, appliances, and kitchen items. Furniture and exercise equipment too. Seems like they have everything! Personnel polite and friendly.
