What a great idea this was for everyday residents to participate in composting and mulching. But it's now "circling the drain." Ten years ago we could drop off paper bags full of lawn or hedge clippings straight to a designated pile. A few years back, they changed it to dump out your paper bags and throw those paper bags into these 2 cans and Mascaro will pick them up. Two days ago, got scolded by some new guy who yells don't put your empty paper lawn bags in those Mascaro trash cans, and insists they have NEVER taken trash here. Baloney. Guy won't answer any question about the procedure changes, just walks into his shed and shuts the door. What a shame.
It's great the township has a facility for composting because its more sustainable for the environment. I visited this compost site three times within the past three months after lining and loading the back of my SUV with yard brush. It was extremely frustrating to drive up only to find the gates locked two of those three times I went there. I even checked their website each time before loading my SUV to make sure they would be open. They list their hours of operation until 3:00 on Saturdays, but the gates were closed at 1:45 today and once on another Saturday last month. It would be nice if you would post any early closing or holidays on yor website.
