Another 5-star rating that is well deserved, the ice cream and BLT’s hit the spot for their portion size and kindness of the little lady who served us. All for under $25 to eat for the two of us. Don’t miss out on Amish hospitality.
Although I rated a 2 star, I have had good ice cream in the past. The last milkshake I had was so excessive with malt. Terrible taste, and, in fact, made me sick.
The ice cream are so good! And you get a huge cup for just $3! The burgers are very good too (forgot to take pictures) - very juice patties with very fresh lettuce and tomato.
Fantastic, wish we had more cash on us.

We stopped here for ice cream on our way to Kane, PA to visit family. What a great stop! The ice cream is incredible and the prices are amazing. If you find yourself in this area, do yourself a favor and make the detour — you won’t be disappointed!
Really good ice-cream, also cool that you can see them making it through the windows. Definitely will return when im in the area again. The cashier is also very professional at such a young age.
This place is on a country road several miles from the nearest I-80 interchange. It has great ice cream, only serves food (hot dogs & hamburgers) on Friday & Saturday, and is cash only. Well worth the detour off the highway!
So excited to go to a local creamery. The ice cream tasted good but started looking at the ingredients and became very disappointed. I thought there would be healthy whole ingredients without the preservatives and additives. There is locust bean gum, guar gum, carrageenan added to the ice cream. Might as well get it at a grocery store.
Just got milk from them and it went bad in 3 days. The date on the jug was a sell by date and had not even passed yet. when I was their I asked about getting a flavor in a bigger jug and he gave some bull answer saying it would mess up production . Meaning they want to charge u more for less .
Very cute barn right on Jacksonville Road. We stopped on the way home from Lock Haven. 2 sundaes and a waffle cone was $12. Good ice cream and friendly service. Plus they have goats out back that you can feed and pet. Will return for sure.
All 6 of us loved our ice cream from The Dairy Barn! And we were so impressed with the kindness of the employees. My kids loved the goats and playing games. We also got some delicious flavored milks for later, eggs, cream and energy balls and it was all delicious. We’ll be back with our out-of-town visitors for sure!
Delicious ice cream at a very good price! This is my favorite ice cream along the Scooped Ice Cream Trail so far! Definitely one to try. The Java Jolt is incredible! ?

This is an amazing local ice cream spot! We came a few minutes before closing time and they were super friendly and willing to serve us! Our order was complicated, but they served us with grace, and it was such an enjoyable experience! We go here fairly frequently now, and all their flavors and creations are amazing! The milkshakes and sundaes are the best we’ve ever had, and the ice cream flavors are out of this world! I definitely recommend this!
I always tell my husband stories of car rides with my dad to have ice cream with the Amish. I’m so happy to have run into this shop with him and shared a cherished childhood memory. The ice cream is fantastic, scenery beautiful and goats….who doesn’t like mini goats. Pennsylvania flavors like tea berry and maple walnut are available.
You’d have to be insane to not like this place. The ice cream was creative and awfully tasty. I wish I would have had a cooler with me - they had frozen beef at some amazing prices, in addition to fresh milk and other dairy products. It’s worth remembering that most of us are visiting a different culture when we come here, and there are some legitimate language and body language hurdles. I saw a PA Dutch / Amish family come in and order some ice cream, and could see the kid who was running the store completely relax when they started talking.
Cash only place, so leave your cards at home, it’s worth your cash to be sure!
Lovely Amish creamery right on their farm. Easy 20 min drive from state college through beautiful Amish countryside. Please be careful driving as many of the Amish children are out on their scooters on the weekend. Really tasty Java jolt coffee with chocolate swirl. Salted caramel is excellent and the cherry and vanilla had fresh dark cherry halves folded into delicious vanilla. Cash only!

Saw this on the map and decided to stop. Thought it was the Pennstate creamery. I pull in the parking lot, no cars there and no lights on. Didn't see anyone inside.
Google said it was open, the door said "open come in", and there was a sign outside with summer hours indicating it was open. Disappointed they abandoned working for the day, I took a picture of the sign and for fun, tried opening the door.
They are amish!
So... if it looks closed, don't leave !
As for the ice cream, I got the cookies and cream/oreo and was impressed. I grew up next to a dairy farm and their cookies and cream is unlike any I've ever had. The ice cream is darker and the cookies are mixed in. Well this place was like that and that's the first time I've had it elsewhere.
As good as it was, the ice cream was very hard and not melting well. I got a pint of cookies and cream milk for $1.30, and carageenan was an ingredient... so maybe they add to the ice cream as well.
Absolutely wonderful experience and fantastic products. The ice cream was super creamy, even better than some of the other local brands we had. Best egg nog we have ever had. And, even though our family aren't milk drinkers, the chocolate peanut butter milk is to die for.
Levi and the other young ladies serving us were very kind and engaging. We had a great time learning about their culture and talking about their farm and their new creamery business.
