The only mechanic I ever heard that doesnt install parts you bought from a parts store. You know what that tells me. He marks up the parts he sells you most likely 3xs the price and or he isn't confident in his work.

The people at Fosters have been fantastic! My husband and I have been taking our vehicles there for tires, oil changes, inspections for years. They are always so very accommodating in getting an appointment when you need it. Efficient and cost effective. They are helpful, affordable, accommodating and overall just generally nice people.
Most recently they made my day with their sense of humor!
As a full time working mom of boys, my car can get a bit messy with toys, candy wrappers, clowns, you name it….you never know what you’re gonna find! I do my best to clean up the clutter before taking it in, but it’s still an eyesore of embarrassment. However, after seeing Fosters show care and concern for the “clown baby doll” that’s been hanging around by buckling him up in the front seat, I can let go of some of the embarrassment of a messy care. They really normalized my chaotic life and I feel like I can trust them with ALL of my car needs! Even down to buckling up clown!

I had a disappointing experience at Foster’s. I’ve been a customer for 10+ years. They told me I needed an engine rebuild, which would’ve been an incredibly expensive repair for a 2012 car. As a single mom, this was out of the question. Even with this diagnosis, they still replaced my coolant hose, which did burst and was the reason for the visit to begin with. I’m still confused why they would continue with any repairs at all when they felt I needed a new engine rebuild. In the past, they would ask if I wanted to continue with repairs. This time, I was quoted $2,000 for the engine repair and paid $250 for the coolant hose replacement on a car that they said I shouldn’t drive.
This didn’t feel right to me so I decided to get a second opinion elsewhere. Long story short, it turned out that there was nothing wrong with the engine. While this was getting sorted out, I sourced another vehicle for my son even though the other mechanic said this one was fine. The amount of stress and worry this all caused is immeasurable.
I expect honesty and integrity when dealing with auto repair services. I didn’t get that this time and decided that I won’t be coming back.

My car decided that it didn't want to start after class today. After a quick jump from a tow company the lady on the phone recommended, I came in for an emergency checkup and oil fill-up. Their schedule was packed but they accommodated me, got me the oil I needed, and let me know about a minor oil leak that I didn't even notice. Cheap too, only about $30 for three quarts of oil. Thank you, Foster's Auto, for helping me out on such short notice and not giving me any bs you might get from a dealership shop!
Issue with fuel injection and and exhaust system
I called Foster’s for an appointment concerning my engine light being on and an irregular power. After call to Foster’s and appointment scheduled it was found my fuel injector was faulty and was replaced. While my Ford was there I then asked to have my exhaust system checked due to a suspected issue of increased sound. Alan quickly resolved that issue also. Work was completed in a timely manner and pricing was reasonable. Kaitlin kept me abreast of the causes and repair costs. I am pleased with the quality of service and I highly recommend Foster Automotive Repair for your vehicle issues!
Honest and reliable. Always! If the work is needed it will get done right! Coming by myself as a women I’ve never felt taken advantage of in anyway shape or form. They are all around just wonderful people. I won’t go anywhere else for my inspection and emissions. Thank you guys.
Our car developed an unexpected loss of power on a Sunday afternoon while we were visiting our son in Monaca PA. I found Foster's Automotive close to his place when searching online, with good reviews. I took the car to them first thing Monday morning. Alan took it in right away and started his diagnosis. It turned out to need some pretty extensive repair, but Alan stayed late to complete it that day, so that we could drive back to eastern PA that night. We really appreciate his knowledge, dedication and reasonable pricing.

As a non car savvy female I’m always skeptical of car shops. I took a gamble and randomly chose Foster’s and I’m so glad that I did. I felt comfortable the entire time. They’re friendly, and transparent about their (very fair) pricing and give recommendations without making you feel forced. I have no reason to go to any other shop. I’ll be a customer for life.

I never thought I would feel comfortable in an auto repair shop and walk out believing what they said, so this is an exceptional review that I need to write. I came to this shop a year and a half ago when I was visiting home and 2 weeks ago was my second time. I don't think I will go anywhere else in the area from now on. This is a small business with down to earth people that I don't feel like are trying to take advantage of me. They even brought me into the garage to show me the issues I was concerned about. No shop has ever done that for me before.
This is my go-to garage for all five of our vehicles. They've always done a great job with her Hondas, Subaru, Saab, and Volvo. Their charges are fair and I never feel like I'm paying for something that I don't need.
Alan and his team are top notch. Very truthful and honest. They will not give you false repair claims like some other shops. My invoice was less than what was quoted. Thank you for being a family friendly shop. I will definitely be coming back!
By far the best costumer service I have ever received in a shop. Here they won't just try and make money off of you, they are honest and won't do work that you don't need. Wish more honest people like the ones in this establishment existed across our country.

I came in for issues with loosing coolant..they took me in even while they were super busy, tested everything and took time to look at everything, at the end they told me everything was running good... they could have ripped me off if they wanted to but they didn't and did NOT charge me one bit.

I picked my car up last week and just want to thank allen and his staff. The work they do amazes me and the way Allen works with the customer just shows how much he and his staff care about the customer with the work they do. And they go out of their way to save the customer money.Ive been going to Fosters Automotive for a few years now and the quality work and professionalism they show still amazes me. Absolutely fantastic experience. I was about to make a trip to Michigan when my check engine light came on. They were able to get me in last minute and thankfully ease my fears. Answered some questions for me and really went above and beyond to make sure I was safe for this trip. Incredibly friendly and efficient service.
Top Shop in the Monaca area. NEVER gives you a runaround and will be as lenient as possible where possible on all services offered. Wow! This is by far the best auto repair shop in Western Pa.! If you're looking for an honest, reasonably priced, quality repair shop, look no further! Alan Foster, the owner, has proven to go above and beyond to ensure the satisfaction of his customers. I took my car to him for some work and a State inspection. Unfortunately, one of my wheels fell off in Ohio and I expected a fight: denial, excuses, and shifted blame. Instead, what I received was a sincere apology, concern for my well being, reimbursement for a tip I gave to a random mechanic that came to me rescue, a free oil change coupon, an explanation of why this occurred siting a faulty piece of equipment he promptly returned to the manufacturer, another sincere apology, and an immediate inspection of all four wheels. He had an employee take me home while he repaired it, then dropped the vehicle off at my house afterward. I'm blown away by his ability to take full responsibility, his honesty, but most importantly, his INTEGRITY! Again, I was expecting excuses, denial, shifted blame, and an argument! He promised it would never happen again which he definitely didn't need to verbalize! His actions and integrity said it all! He's done work for me prior to this incident and did an amazing job for a fair price. Things happen and I'm sure this was a one off. I understand that this could have happened at any repair shop. However, I doubt that most (if any) shops would have humbly admitted to the issue, showed sincere concern for my well being, sincerely apologized, took care of the issue adding extra benefits and reimbursement for the tip I gave the mechanic. Alan Foster is more than a business owner, he is a man of remarkable integrity, honesty, and compassion. I'm not one to write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience with everyone because remarkable auto repair service just isn't easy to find.
