I have shopped at the Glassport Thrift Store for many years! The staff is friendly, hard working, and merchandise is priced to sell. There is always a variety of new treasures to find. The store is very clean and organized. If you are looking for a great thrifting place I highly recommend Glassport Thrift and the sister store American Thrift Center. You will not be disappointed.
A thrift store should never price their items at MSRP or even remotely close to retail. When everybody knows you get all of your used products donated to you, high prices turn away customers, it doesn't matter if they're like new, people go to thrift stores for good deals and discounted goods, you're forgetting your place as a second-hand store. If I wanted to get an $80 pair of designer jeans I'd go to a retail store not a thrift store. Nobody is going to spend full price at a thrift store, period. Get your act together if you need to make a bottom line move product I've seen items in there that are still there two years later sneakily move stuff around to try and trick people into thinking you've got a new stuff. They get all their products for free there's no reason why it shouldn't be priced to move, if their bottom line is an issue. Though on a more positive note the cashiers are very helpful and attentive and likely deserve a raise.
Prices have SHOT UP here. Used to love it here but now it turns me away from purchases because of the pricing. This is a thrift store. Yeah you can find good things here just hope that it’s under a discount. If I buy anything from here it’s under a discount. I completely understand being fair and not having dirt low prices, I get you need to keep the lights on and pay employees but some things in here are just as much as a brand new item if not more. Hopefully this will change soon when they can’t move items or pay people.
Nice selection but that's it. Very overpriced! When they want $50 for a used Walmart Steelers jersey it's not a "thrift" store, even with the half off. It's a shame that they get this stuff donated to them and ask for those kind of prices.
Almost everything is over priced in the store. DVDs seemed like a good price but if it's a season they charge a $1 a DVD so if there are 6 discs your looking at $6 for a season of a show which can get pricey.
This store is sooooo overpriced! Seems like they try to go off eBay prices. These items are donated to them and yet they still charge a lot! Can’t even afford to go to a thrift store anymore. Also the 2 for a dollar bins need to be marked “MUST BUY 2” I took up 3 toys and she still charged me a whole $1 instead of .50 cents!! She could’ve at least told me to grab another toy instead of charging me the full $1. I won’t be back.
Pretty good selection you can still find some good common items at a decent price but they price some things up so high they’re above retail. They’re not worth it even on half off days. There are things I don’t think will ever sell at the prices they have them at. $80-130 for used shoes and jackets is wild.
Overpriced! I grew up in a generation where the thrift store was a place to shop for CHEAPER items. These items are DONATED to you why CHARGE so much for them. I missed going to thrift store finding deals now the deals are at your REGULAR stores or thrift stores out of town are even much cheaper and reasonable. It’s ridiculous. The girls are overpricing stop looking up what you would get if it was brand new. We take the risk of buying the product used and then you INFLATE us with the high prices for an USED item. It just doesn’t make sense. I don’t go as much anymore. I go every once in a while and it’s horrible. I have found better deals shopping online.i gave it 2 stars because one of the ladies amid supper nice and friendly.
love helping people and giving stuff away for new home one mans trash another mans treasure especially when it comes to bulk items and friendly service. Everybody works there so awesome. when it comes to donate or thrift shopping, I’ll recommend you guys even when it’s clean out season from a school or neighbors ? which means I like to go to kennywood or sandcastle water park when I’m having fun like this after a hard day at work and helping others
Food was fabulous and the server was great. List of beers will delight everyone. Will definitely be going again. I highly recommend to everyone to go there
I have been going to that thrift store 35 30 35 years I'm not sure but it's probably one of them for the stories I like the most is the glassport store it's awesome there and the people are nice
As a member of the Glassport community I am so happy to have this thrift store close by! Great place, great people! The only draw back, albeit a minor one is they have a no return policy. Happy shopping!
Upon arrival, we were never greeted. The pricing there was odd. The clothing was priced high along with tote style purses. Everything else was priced average. However, the store was very clean.
We rarely find anything here however yesterday was an exception. My daughter found lots of new clothes in her size that were half off however we left without making a purchase because an employee yelled at my daughter that she wasn’t allowed in the toy department without an adult. Now, my daughter is 11 years old and was not being destructive or pulling toys off the shelves. She was being respectful sooo....they did not or will not get my money.
Half of the employees were NOT WEARING MASKS!!! Unacceptable in today's atmosphere, and not even legal. Also, they still demand 10 dollars minimum to use a card, during a national cash shortage. Unbelievable.

Thrifting is something I do to decrease my carbon footprint. Of all the stores I visit, this wound't be my favorite. First there is an odor that permeates the room and clothing. Then there is the pricing. It is inconsistent. Some pieces are underpriced( only a few) and some are way overpriced. If something has tags on it is considered new and way way overpriced. At times there is a dress marked new with a high price and looking at it, it is at least twenty years out of fashion. The tags are yellow and barely legible yet it is priced as though it was still in fashion. I find the staff friendly, though not involved in assisting you unless asked. I am fine with this as I don't like people hovering over me. Every now and again you find a treasure which is why I continue to visit this store.
There is no better value in thrift stores. Often, everything is 50% off except for one color as opposed to most other stores who only discount 1 tag color. Merchandise is well selected so you won't find crappy junk like Goodwill. Also friendly people, air conditioned, plenty of parking.
The prices are very high for what they have. The store is cluttered and you have to sort through piles of stuff on shelves. The older woman who works there is consistently rude every time we come in (which is rarely). On our most recent visit, we were informed by this woman that we were not allowed to try on any of the clothes (I was trying on a shirt over my clothes in front of an end cap mirror). She said we should know what our sizes are and not have to try anything on. Also note that there are no signs in the store indicating this policy at all.
I gave it two stars because it seems like the people who work in that back of the store are working very hard.
Friendly staff. Hard to find if not familiar with the town. It shares a building with the magistrate near a backstreet Fire station. I find decent things here from time to time.
