Go to josh scrap yard 6th street in braddock pa. and double you price per lb. For aluminum scrap.
I know from experience, trust me scrappers!
I have had 3 roll offs out of there , filled them with scrap and always got great price and driver who is owners son , is always great, he very nice , get there when he says he'll be there.
Can't say enough about him .

Love this yard. They get you in and out quick with no hassle. Workers are very nice. Started coming here vs other yards that were more of a pain in the butt. And they are open all the time!
Love going to this scrap yard they do have best prices staff is very friendly, everything is very neat and clean considering it is a scrap yard, what I mean is they keep it together there, everything is very orderly and in its place, great place, five stars!
I went to this scrap yard many years ago when I lived in Pittsburgh and worked in the McKeesport Monroeville area. I was here visiting in town and helping my father clean up his house and I took some used engine parts that were metal that he and I had in the basement of our house or his house that I used to live in . I see they made the yard a lot more neater and cleaned up the yard quite a bit and moved the office and the scale. Like I said I was probably last down here in 2009 or 2010. I like what they did with the yard. And the office lady was very pleasant! And and the main Pathways were clear of debris so you wouldn't get anything in your tires. A five-star establishment. Robbie Casturo and his family have done a wonderful with this scrapyard.
I used to love them. Now this dude working there is calling pure copper red brass. It was not true it was a new fitting copper fitting that was not used on a job. He argued with me about it. Also a 6 Foot of corroded 2 inch pipe was number 2. Lol there was so many more issues. The other guys number 2 was not acceptable due to some white on it. 15 mins later after banging it it was number 1. When is red brass so thin like copper all this pipe of mine came from the same scrap lol. Watch the amount you bring bigger the more he tries to get you. Lol next time I know lol. OFFICE LADY WAS GREAT, NICE AND THE NEW GUY WAS NICE, THE CRANE GUYS WAS GREAT ALSO A SURGEON WITH THAT THING. TO BAD I COULD NOT TIP THE NICE LADY. I JUST THINK 80 BUCKS IS NOT WORTH LOSING BUSINESS AND A BAD REVIEW. BUT ONE BAD APPLE SPOILS THE BUNCH.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would, I should have read the Reviews before going to this place. The staff were very rude not helpful and and ripped me off at least 20 pounds in copper.
I've have taken scrap to casturos for 11 years now, even when it's out of the way. They are honest, kind, and they're prices are always good. Thank you Casturo's, for everything that you do.
First and last time they're these people were rude call people names gave me number two prices for clearly number one copper that was burned Clean and Free dibris did not show the actual weight on the scale lady in the office was rude no customer service for satisfaction do not go here if you can help it.
The people were very nice they help you if you don't know where ur going . You unload ur own vehicle then go back around to get you vehicle weights then she tells you were to park and bring ur license into the office you might just have to wait a few minutes she my have someone in there helping them..
I would have left a negative rating if possible because unless you can talk to the boss they can't price the converters and if you live a distance away there is nothing discussed over the phone not even a estimated price guess this company thinks there to big to do business the old fashion way
Lady in the office was very nice, but the guy on the copper scale tried to stiff me on around 18 lbs of #2 copper and 3lbs of wire. I told the. This and they said they would check the cameras... haven't heard anything yet but I don't expect to... make sure u take pictures of your scales if u go, that was my mistake.
I cant understand anything bad being said about this business. I travel an hour to go here. I'm from eastern la and moved here a year ago. I've been to all the surrounding scrap yards and truthfully they are ALL crooks. I was amazed at the prices, and professionalism here. I seperate all my copper and brass. He took all the # 2 copper I had seperated and told me no its #1 unless it has paint and or brass ends on it. I also weigh my scrap before going anywhere and his scale was more then accurate. I recommend this business to anyone I know who scraps.
My name is John Mikolay Casturo is good to most scrappers only Im banned for taking tail lights I wanted to buy from a junked mustang turned out it was the owners sons part car told them that should be another business for ebay selling car taillights still banned though there good because there open 7 days
I've been to all the scrap yard around Pittsburgh multiple times and this is without a doubt the best one I've been to. I have nothing bad to say about this place
Best yard I have dealt with out of many. Prices are very fair. Will drive out of my way to deal with them instead of enduring the hassle of most of the competitors
One worker just started yelling at a customer and the sign when you first pull up contains profanity. Not a very professional site but they definitely get the job done quickly and correctly. The precious metals workers were understanding of me not knowing the slightest thing about what I was doing as it was my first time.
By far the best scrap yard experience I've ever had. made 20 bucks which was a little more than I thought it was gonna get. I scrapped an ac unit shell no copper, a muffler I replaced on my Silverado, 4 rotors and a little bit of scrap I had around my house. When I went inside to collect they offered me a hot dogs, chips fruit and soda which was definitely an unexpected treat . If you compare that to the yard in Braddock that told me I couldn't scrap there because I was an individual and not a business... still scratching my head over that one??? I've gotta give Casturo Iron & Metal 5 stars. and would definitely refer them to anyone looking to scrap stuff
They are a great scrap yard. There prices are higher then others at times. Ignorance of the customers is why they might have a bad name and location might play a role but they treat me well!!
Worst place to take scraps!!!! They just work to get their money, they don't care about the customer, I don't recommend anyone to go this casturo irom & metal!! You will be unsatified!!!! Take my word for it... they also rip you off....
