This company… who uses third party customer service center, had been charging my company for non pickups for over a year when the town had beeen picking up my garbage. You may ask why I didn’t know this… I own an office that was closed on the day of said service. Then they wanted to charge me over 700 to cancel when they had already collected on 600 in unused pick ups. Aweful.

The online payment experience is pitiful. Why is it so hard to link my “account” when I log on to pay my bill? I have an account but it acts like I’m not logged in whenever I select “bill pay”. I’m told to link it again but it never works and the website just sends me in circles, providing conflicting information. It shouldn’t be that difficult. This is the online experience I expect from a government site so please make some improvements immediately. I also don’t like that I can’t select the payment date. What if I don’t want funds withdrawn tomorrow but I also don’t want to forget that it’s due next week? I guess I could setup autopay for a specific date but during signup I was told it was a quarterly cost and yet I’ve received a bill two months in a row. That kind of false promise or miscommunication doesn’t make me confident in not receiving unexpected charges in the future so I’m holding off for now. The one good thing I can say is the customer service agent who setup my account was very personable and informative. That experience was pleasant but it was all downhill afterwards unfortunately.

My local township switched to this company and it’s been horrendous. They only take full bagged garbage and don’t pick up any cans they don’t empty your can. If animals get into your garbage overnight you’re screwed. Very sloppy work. The whole neighborhood is upset. They leave garbage in the street. Maybe get some stronger workers that can lift the cans. I’m not sure what we are paying for.

We are in shady side and for several weeks now you have dispatched a truck to come pick up a container at 330am. That is unacceptable. The driver is an amateur at best and takes 45 minutes to over an hour each time to swap one box. City of Pittsburgh ordinances indicate that noise of that level is not legal until 8am. Stop sending your trucks out on pick ups when the rest of us are trying to sleep. It’s disturbing and disrespectful. I’m sure I’m speaking for several people who are feeling the same way. Just stop.

Horrible company. Their driver’s negligence left my parked car dented. Their insurance company, CCMSI, is even worse and has yet to help me (it’s been almost 4 months). Would not recommend, especially for apartment complexes.

This is the worst company do not contract with them what started off as not lose garbage the contractor claims it was loose garbage over two weeks when there was only a box in there from Sam’s Club now that I have put more boxes and containers in there than other people has put trash in there it’s considered loose trash and they will not pick it up do not work with this company you pay for trash pick up and I refused to pick it up. If I could give them zero stars I wouldn’t give them a zero

We have not had our recycling picked up for well over a month. I have called on 3 seperate occasions and each time I am assured a recovery truck will be out. The recovery truck has shown up ZERO of the three times they claimed one was on the way. The cans are in clear view and not obstructed in any way. A missed pickup or two is understandable but at least show up when you say you will.

These guys do a great job removing the municipal waste from our hospital. They follow their assigned pick up schedule, their drivers are friendly, and our customer rep, Barb, does a great job at coordinating any type of special service. Check them out if you need service!

Our rep Barb B, and our last rep, have been outstanding. It sounds so simple: picking up and dropping off trash bins. How mundane! But the reality is that picking up the trash is a complex ballet of maneuvering around cars, other contractors, neighbors, dogs, and the government. And of course, the cantankerous truck driver. Republic does it well. I was a lifelong customer of the other company until Republic came knocking with an unbelievable price. The other company told me the price was too low--that I would have problems throughout the entire contract and would beg them back. It's been close to 7 years and I haven't regretted the decision to switch to Republic yet. I still have one account with the other company, in a different state, and regret not switching over that one to Republic, too.

What a Wonderful company-and amazing employees- this company took the time out of their day to recognize an autistic child on his birthday! What a difference it made in this child’s life! Something so small made such a huge difference in the life of a special needs child. without reservation this company the operations manager, general manager, Barb the account manager and Dave the driver-a huge shout out to all of them as they made this happen! With all the ugliness in the world- our faith in humanity has been restored due to their act of kindness and selfless act! What a reputable company if I could give them more than five stars I would! Very professional and would Highly recommend Republic Service!! Thank you all!!!

I had to have the order for my trash bin redone 3 different times along with giving all of my info for my account each time. Finally I received my bin about a week ago (in the middle of the night about 3 am). It is now 1am and there is a guy outside installing the lock. At 1 in the morning??? Banging and pounding like crazy and waking up the whole neighborhood. No one even let me known when it would be installed, and I didn’t even know it would be installed after delivery. Very poor communication and ridiculous that they do all things in the middle of the night

The customer service team at Republic Services has been top tier. Super helpful, responsive, and eager to aid in helping a small business get started. Glad we went with them for our businesses needs, they exceed our expectations!

We are a local business in Carnegie and we have not had any issues since we have started with Republic Services. If they are not going to be picking up the garbage at the scheduled time we always are notified via phone system which is very helpful. Drivers seem very professional and courteous. When we have had to call with any questions, everyone has been very helpful, professional and informative.

Location CONSISTENTLY sends trucks to pick up my communities dumpsters well outside of established waking hours. Residents constantly woken up to loud beeping, slamming dumpsters and complete disregard for a residential neighborhood. Company REFUSES to acknowledge requests to change pick up times not only by residents but by the community management company as well. This company is complete GARBAGE and will gladly take your money and not give a damn about you as a customer.

Republic Services handles several of my commercial properties waste and recycling needs. They are always on time with scheduled service. Recently I had to add lockbars to my containers. My salesperson had someone at my location within one day to attach the lockbars. Any requests I have our generally communicated via email and responded to within 1-2 days. I will continue to work with Republic Services.

Let me begin by saying, if I could leave 0 stars I would. I called in early March to cancel service as I had moved outside their service area. I was told this was taken care of. I paid my last bill (even though it included service clear up until June). Fast forward to June 15th and I recieve a new bill for 3 more months of service. I call and am informed even though they do have noted on my account I called in March and my service "ended", I need to contact the borough and fill out paperwork to cancel. I was never informed of this. After 4 attempts to contact the borough, I called back to speak to a supervisor who opened a case and has told me I now have to wait for another 24/48 BUSINESS hours for a response from managers in the area. I have filed a BBB complaint as well. Avoid this company if at all possible. Had I known all this, I would've hauled my trash to a facility myself week and paid to drop off. They can't end your service but they don't waste any time starting it.

I'm displeased by the fact that they will not even pick up small amount of construction material. Most waste companies will pick up small amounts of material but not large. I had a small amount of insulation and a 2-foot piece of corroded indoor sewer pipe and the service person wouldn't dispose of it. When I call customer service they confirm the same and said I had to rent a dumpster for a standard garbage can of debris. I'll bring the issue up at the next municipal board meeting. We need better service for our tax dollars.

Our drivers are always professional and courteous. They take the extra 20 seconds to put our cans on the flat part of our driveway so they don't roll into the street. My two year old eagerly awaits the arrival of the garbage truck each week. We appreciate that they show up consistently on the same day around the same time so we don't miss them. And, the drivers always give our son a quick wave if they notice him in the window. It makes his day!

My Boro just started using them in January and from missed pick ups to higher costs they are horrible but yes it gets worse. They offer a bulk pickup service but they actually don't pick it up. I replaced carpeting in my house and as directed when we called in tied it with string and I 4 ft sections as best we could. Monday it was to be picked up but that came and went. We called only to be told the bundles were not neat enough to be picked.up. Yes garbage had to be neater to be picked up. When I called they even accused me of not tying it up. I bought bailing twin from Home Depot just for this. Do yourself a favor and got to Waste management or Valley. They actually pick up garbage. Oh and Bob the dispatcher is the grumpist non customer service orientated guy in the world.

I didn't think service could be worse after WM but these guys proved me wrong. I have a multi unit apartment bldg that hasn't had service since 3-25. We have a 3 yr contract for twice a week pu. They have missed 9 scheduled pu's since the first of the year. One star on a good day. Help! Since making the above post things have improved dramatically. I’m thinking it helps to share our opinions.

Terrible! They missed all of our trash pick ups in January. Only number you can call is a call center which does nothing. Despite numerous calls and reporting missed pick ups on line, trash still didn't get emptied. We paid for all of January and had absolutely nothing picked up. I finally canceled and now they won't get back to me regarding when they will pick up their dumpster.

I just ordered service from them for my business here. They sent someone ahead of time to scout the location and see where I wanted it and make sure there were no obstructions or anything of the sort. There weren't and all was fine. He said the dumpster would be dropped off ASAP. That turned out to be a week later but ok fine. I arrive the morning it's to be dropped off and there it is. Along side the building not anywhere near where it was supposed to be or where I specified. Great huh? So I call them to have it moved to the proper location and the lady is very nice, very apologetic and seemed sincere enough in her willingness to help. She said they'd have it moved that day if not the next. So ok, great. Problem solved right? NO. Not even close. Those 2 days came and went and there it sat, unmoved. So I call again the next day, same thing, nice person, assures me it will be handled and so on. So ok, the next day comes and there it still sits, again. So I call again, this goes on all week, assurances it will be moved but never is. Eventually they tell me its because they only have one truck and the route is scheduled for Monday pickup and it will be handled then. Again very apologetic and helpful, even bumped me up to a "priority status" yea right. So Monday comes and so does the truck, before I get to work which is 8am, and all they did was take the trash. They STILL left it where it sat, in the wrong place and in the way. So needless to say this is all beyond frustrating and downright dumb. I'm not asking for anything extraordinary, just move it, put it in the proper place I requested from the beginning and throughout the week for that matter. But no, it still sits there. And apparently no one can communicate with each other there. Multiple requests have been put in but nothing has happened. Something is very wrong with this company. I dont know what it is but something is very wrong. If you have a choice when looking for this service please consider another. This is all just crazy. Guess it's time to call again. What else can I do? Finally a week after all the calls and frustration tge dumpster was finally put in its proper place behind the building here. Great! What a pain that was. But....wait I come in a few days ago and the damn thing was moved back to where it started!!! What is going on here??? Are they screwing with me?? This company is the worst!! So I call again. The guy is perplexed, he has no idea why it was moved out of place or even why the trash was picked up that day. It wasn't the scheduled pick up day. So he says he'll relay the info to "operations" and I use that term loosely to have it moved back on my regularly scheduled pick up day which is today, Monday. Well, today is Monday, there it still sits, in the wrong place. I cant believe such a simple task is creating this much of a problem. Do not ever use this company for your trash removal needs. Youd br better if hauling ir to the dump yourself. Guess I'll call again. What a waste of time.

I can not believe what I and my family have gone thru over the past week. We have republic services until December 31st and then thank goodness we’ll have a different trash and recycling service. Because of where my house sits and because of laziness the recycling guys have been moving our trash on to our neighbors yard. This has become a very serious issue as one of our neighbors kept bags of our trash, went through it extensively and proceeded to threaten and harass us with very personal details and claim that we do not have trash service. Because of laziness on this company’s part our Christmas was ruined and we’ve been in emotional distress for days..this is NOT ok.

Four weeks no pickup have garbage everywhere. We signed a contract that they are now not honoring and yet expect payment for the month of not providing service. After several phone calls nothing has been done one person came up in a pickup truck with a dumpster on the back. They got out picked up one bag from the can which ripped from being weathered for three weeks. They dropped it on the ground and drove off. Call again and get a run around of local branch will call me which has never happen. This is absurd would love another company to come take over.

They missed my business pickup on Wednesday morning. I was told they would be coming Friday and they didn’t. Then I was told Monday morning. Didn’t come. Then I was told it could be anytime Monday. I’m currently on hold again at 5pm on Monday for the past half hour with trash spilling out of my dumpster that I pay on time for every month because they STILL haven’t come to pick up. This has happened like 4 times before too. Not an isolated incident. They are very unreliable and hard to get a hold of your local branch. Just bad all the way around. Update: 10/29/18 Several more missed pickups. After calling several times they declined a bill adjustment since they “scheduled a missed pickup” which they then MISSED. Summary is they expect you to pay a full month of service whether they complete that service or not. I don’t know any other business where this is tolerable. I wish I could give them less than one star.

Signed a year contract for a weekly dumpster pickup in October. Dumpster was collected 2x. Then never again. Spent 15+ hours on the phone with multiple false reports given by their collection people. In December they inexplicably dropped off a second dumpster while still never taking the garbage from the first. It’s February and two dumpsters are full sitting on our property. Yesterday they called about an outstanding balance we have. Their full dumpsters are still there and haven’t been touched since mid October.

Like other reviewers lately, we have had nothing but problems with their services: At my business, we received trash and recycling services for several years through Allied Waste (a subsidiary of Republic Services) and then Republic Services (after they changed the name). We had a few issues with missed pickups for the first few years, but nothing major. Our sales representative and the management at the time either credited us or took care of the problem without incident. However, since late 2016, we have had nothing but problems with Republic Services. It started with consistent missed recycling pickups, which we would call about on a regular basis, as we noticed they hadn't been picked up. Over the course of six months, from the beginning of 2017 to June 2017, we counted over twelve missed pickups. I say over twelve because I lost count of how many were missed. We would call and complain. Sometimes they would send a "missed pickup," but usually we would be offered a bill credit. Then they stopped giving us bill credit or sending missed pickups. Finally, I called and expressed that we might be cancelling our contract because our service was so terrible. This received their attention and a couple weeks later I was finally contacted by our third sales representative in two months. He assured me that they would work out our bill credits and come up with a price reduction to make up for the last six months. Guess what? I never heard back. Fast forward to today. We called and cancelled our services yesterday because we have not heard back from our sale rep or received bill credits that we were promised, yet we were informed that it has to be in writing because they "need time to respond." But that got their attention! Months of actual missed pickups and trying to give them the benefit of the doubt didn't work, but when we called to cancel they were all over it. And they had those SIX MONTHS to respond! I cannot recommend strongly enough that you take your business elsewhere. Republic Services is a discredit to all credible businesses everywhere.
