Great people and great service! When my transmission needed replaced and my warranty company refused to cover it bertolinos saved the day. They went out of their way to replace it and make it as affordable as possible. They are honest and transparent. They kept me updated on what they were doing and the cost of repairs. Most importantly they genuinely care about people. I cannot thank them enough for getting me back into my car without breaking the bank! Would 10/10 recommend them.
I had a great experience with this shop. My car threw transmission error messages, and they got me in quickly to run diagnostics. They cleared the warnings, test-drove the car to ensure everything was running properly, and took the time to explain what they found. What really stood out is that they didn’t even charge me for the diagnostic testing — something most shops absolutely would. They wished me luck with my pregnancy (I’m a month away from my due date) fist bumped me and sent me on my way. Professional, honest, and above-and-beyond service. Highly recommend.
I believe they also sell Lexuses. I will be back when it’s time for a new car or should anything else go wrong with my transmission. Thank you!
Owner Martin is the best!!!!! Honest and trustworthy !!! If you need work done on your vehicle this is the place to go!! And all work done at a fair price. I brought my car to him for a transmission problem and in one day it was done. I can not say enough good things about this company!!!
We have used Bertolino’s service several times now. Not once have we ever had an issue or complaint. Work has always been done in a timely manor and at very reasonable pricing. Marty Sr and Jr have always taken the time to explain what needs to be done, how it was done, and the breaking down of cost. No sticker shock when picking up your vehicle. They always call to confirm any changes to the plan before proceeding. Thought I was going to have to junk my vehicle but they got me back up and running smoother than ever. Thank you guys so much. I was visiting from out of state and took my aunts car to be serviced. They were friendly, helpful and more importantly honest. When talking, we realized we went to Highlands and approximately same year. The father went to school with my older brother. When I mentioned who was servicing my aunts car, most people knew of the shop and had good things to say about it. I'm glad I took the car there. Hi Franklin!!
I’ve worked with many transmission shops in Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas for my used car dealership (PA Autosport), but I’ve never come across anyone as professional as Bertolino’s Transmission. It’s a family-owned business run by a father and son, and their level of professionalism is unmatched. They offer warranties and truly stand behind their work. I highly recommend them—AAA+!

My car had a dead battery they came to my house charged it. Took my car to the garage changed the battery and inspected the car. I needed tires they took my car got me tires. Picked me up to get my car. I highly recommend Bertolinos for car repairs.
Took my van there last year. The communication was not very good. When they checked the fluid initially, they did not reinstall the dip stick. When the repair was done, there was transmission fluid blowing under the car and up the back. They admitted that they do not change the seal on the shifter and sometimes it cracks and they have to pull it out and replace it. The car never did shift like before. Over time it got worse. I have put 14,000 miles on the car and it is still shifting, but with intermittent slips and hesitations here and there. My battery terminals were not attached tightly and I had to tighten and get my car jumped after they worked on it as well. If you plan to keep your car, I would go somewhere else. My a/c has not worked properly and that could be with how the reattached hoses to radiator. The hoses on there were not attached correctly either.
I went to look at a used car to possibly buy. The staff was a great bunch of people. The owner was quite busy but, took his time to answer all my questions. Very knowledgeable on cars and transmission repairs. I would highly recommend this place.
If zero was a possibility, that's what I'd rate them. Had my truck for 2.5 months. Every week I got a different story and it would be a week. Until all of a sudden they had the parts just laying around the shop. Put me out of work for almost 3 months. I understand understaffing and what not but not giving someone the run around.
Replaced an actuator billed 1600$ For barely 4 hours of work, a used part, and an unreliable repair job. First day got the car back it was jerky in reverse and barely 2 months later same shudder. Unreliable repairs.
Seriously the worst, most unprofessional business I’ve ever seen. My mother took her car here to be repaired. They quoted her $1300, took several days longer than initially agreed to, then billed her $1600. She then got the car back, and it was worse off than before she dropped it off! They refused to fix their mistake, treated her with disrespect, and ended up using a USED part on her car. She can’t even drive it, it’s completely unsafe! I will never ever take any of my vehicles here or recommend this place to anyone. One star is being generous, they don’t deserve any. They are awful!
Paid them $2800 for a NEW tranny. Picked up truck and less than 200 miles, tranny went and fluid everywhere. Called Marty Bertolino and he said that he wouldn't warranty it since it was an older truck. I got stuck with and $900 tow bill because of his ignorance.... STAY AWAY AND GO ELSEWHERE..... YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID..!!! THEY ARE ALL DRUNKS AT THIS SHOP...!!!!!!!!!
took 5 weeks to get my transmission back in my car. Had it back for 15 minutes and car was pouring transmission fluid out on the ground. Called them and they didn't want to take responsibility for it. Very expensive compared to other places. Awful communication with me. every time I called they were all at "lunch" never called me to tell me what was going on. didn't even call me and tell me it was done. I had to make every call. Awful place and will never go back. do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. will be cheaper and a lot better service that here.
