First time there. Good luck. There is no directions or how to proceed in thier process. And no communication what so ever from your first weigh to getting paid. Was not given cash as I assumed. Options included they would mail me a check or prepaid debit.i chose the debit card. Was not told it would be 3 days before money would be on card. Total BS. Wouldn't recommend this business. Worth going to any other Metal Recycling.
Once you have been there it's easy...but not the first time. They don't make it easy for you and not the warmest customer service. They just want you in and out.
The younger guy was great the first time I recycled my copper there. Today the older guy was being a jerk. He needs to go to charm school or apply for unemployment. Made a quarter as much as the last time with almost the same amount of copper. My stuff was sorted perfectly but the guy docked me for no reason. I won't be back.
Deffenetly dont reccomend. Wouldn't tell me how much there paying for scrap, brought in 5400lbs of steel and they gave me 5 cents a lb
Deffenetly dont trust these guys and there way undercutting the market value. I'll be finding somewhere else to take dump truck loads of metal.
I was told they would take refrigerators if you removed the compressor. Not anymore. The place next door does but it'll cost you $10.
I was also led to believe they would take old 5 gallon propane tanks. They will if you can remove the valve and if you drill a baseball size hole in the side😡
I had a good amount of specialty metals today, schnitzer in White City has always been decent. The ladies at the counter have been great always. Normal scrap metal is what it is. I had a medium to large sized bed load of different wires and copper and a handful of electric motors. I've scrapped alot but last 5 years has been spotty. If you don't separate your wires or good metals then it is what it is. (it's hard to know all the different grades and levels) look it up online or talk to a worker. The younger guy today at 12 noon 10/13/22 was extremely helpful, wish I got his name and told the people up front. Anyways he separated all my wires and got me the most money for my scrap. Nice guy! Usually they just have you dump it into a container and give you the grade of lowest or dirty material (unless you separate it) This gentleman took an extra 10 minutes out of his day to help me out I and really appreciated it. More money for me and my daughter. I always go to schnitzer. Don't go to Cascade metal recycling in Grants Pass , they take a giant cut that you should be getting. Thank you Schnitzer!
Very nice people and great place to get your metal stuff recycled and they even pay you for it. :) I had some empty co2 type metal cartridge cylinders that they recycled. They need to have hole in it however.
