Visited the Holland store and had a great experience. Wonderful customer service who seemed genuinely happy to answer questions. Placed an order the next day for landscape stone and it was delivered within the hour and dumped exactly where I asked. Easy to do business with and I will be returning!

Order some stone. They had our church on file from previously. Got the same kind. Gave him measurements and within an hour got it delivered 2 ton. Plenty to go around. Excellent phone order and excellent driver delivering and dumping right where I wanted it. Bethel Lutheran Church.

The sample they had in the office and what we ordered (Thunder Bay Lg) does not match what we had delivered. Pictures included of what we thought we were getting VS what we received. It looks awful! We went with Thunder Bay LG because we wanted larger rock, as you can see in the picture more than half of the rock is tiny pebbles.

Absolutely beautiful selection of natural landscaping boulders and stone. I wanted to get some flagstone for a dry bed build in my yard and I found way more than I even intended. The employees made the process really easy for a beginner and were beyond kind and helpful. It made my visit really productive and fun. I can’t wait to return. I spent less than half of what I had expected as well, so the prices are great.

Bought 40 yards of there premium top soil and it was there worst soil i have ever got from Sandman. Soil was hard and was large chunks of clay no organic matter at all. When it got wet it was as hard as clay. Called and talked with Bob he told me I would have to figure it out. I have used Sandman for the last 2 homes spending well over 25k and expected a little more from Sandman. I have spent three weeks rototilling and working this clay put 1k worth of seed and peat moss watered 3 times everyday irrigation system hardly will grow and soil is hard as clay. I will not spend a single dollar at Sandman yard again will not recommend . Bob should have tried to make it right. Lost loyal customer have been friends of the Parkers for 25 plus years.

Absolutely great customer service at the location to order, absolutely horrendous delivery and response from the team member that delivered. After leaving specific instructions of where to unload the dirt, the deliverer then tried to back into our driveway, doing so they took down lines for power and then decided to leave without contacting anyone. After leaving, they called to say I left but this did happen with no resolution on their end ….. I called to complain and was transferred to the “boss”, who said our insurance should “probably cover it”. Not a very reassuring response for an awful delivery. Will not use this company again.

Contacted holland location for their #1 topsoil had delivered 4 tons. Upon inspection noticed hard plastic pieces,foil like pieces, and weird black paper mixed into the soil. For the price we were not pleased. Update we found a bar of metal.... closer to the bottom of the pile....

First time out here.. Very nice staff I like the fact you can go out there and pick the stones you want.. I do light landscaping and edging.. The parking lot is full of nice size stones color and shapes that you can pick from..

Went to Sandman Sales Yard for rock and topsoil for a landscaping project. The topsoil was perfect! Nice loose texture so I think it was screened. It was very easy to spread and mix by shovel. Leveled all of my fence line with the sandy like topsoil. I originally was going to order river rock, but decided the Red Flint stone looked better. I am glad I went with that upgrade. Worth the money! Multiple loads were delivered each time in 30-60 minutes of me placing the order, and the drivers put the load exactly where I needed it. I would highly recommend giving Sandman your business. I will be back for any future needs.

This place is awesome!! My wife decided to border her flower beds with rocks this year. We drove onto the lot, weighed our vehicle, found the rocks she wanted and loaded them, re-weighed the van, parked, and paid. So easy. 550lbs or so of Wisconsin Cobblestone.... dramatic pause.... only 80 bucks or so. So cheap, the sales guys are great,definitely my first choice for landscaping beautification.

Excellent customer service from Dillon. I was just looking for a couple of large stones for my garden, but he was as attentive as if I was starting a high budget project! Thanks Dillon.

They did not complete the job as agreed and still charged $862. We ordered 36 TONS of dirt. 18 were dumped in the hole, and 18 were dumped in mounds around the perimeter. When we contacted the manager/owner, Sean, he was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He started by telling us that dump trucks can't actually dump the dirt in a manner that will fill the hole because the truck might slide in and need to get towed out. Umm.. maybe you should tell the customer that to START with (Please take a moment to note, in the photo with the bill, that there is a star with the directives: Dump in HOLE in yard." He then asked us how we would like a $600 towing bill for a dump truck (rude). We sent him the pictures, and Sean's response, "Looks like a good job to me!" and "I stand by the quality of my worker's job." Well Sean, now we have to pay someone else $600 to come fix the job you didn't do, as you have piled 18 TONS of dirt where it doesn't belong. Huge waste of money, and a bad attitude. Our mistake? We trusted this business and paid in advance, in full.

I used Sandman for the first time a couple weeks ago and was very pleased with the product and the service. We drove in with the trailer, loaded and out again in less than 15 minutes. They had a wide range of products and a great staff to help select.

As a landscape contractor I go to Sandman very frequently, and I can tell you they have great quality in their products especially the mulch. One thing I really love about them is they give great customer service; but also know how to get me loaded up and out the gate as quick as possible. If I can't get what I need in my truck, I could have them deliver what I need to the address for a unbeatable delivery fee. I would highly recommended sandman.

I have been buying river rock by the truck bed load. (Their prices are amazing, go check them out). Unfortunately, I have a hard top cover so it cannot be poured in by tractor. It must be done by hand. Yup... I'm THAT customer. Thankfully, these guys have dedicated, friendly, helpful and hard working staff that really go out of their way to help. Forgive me as I am terrible with names; Hayden and Anthony I believe it was who helped me load over a ton of river rock by hand yesterday. Two other members of staff helped me the day prior. All of which had great work attitudes and great work ethics. All of you guys are seriously appreciated. ??I will be returning a few more times to finish this project once and for all, thank you again for your hard work. Would recommend this business to anyone

Great selection, helpful and knowledgeable staff, didn't have to wait but gave us plenty of time to make decisions without pressure, deliver as promised and continue to have great prices. Have been consistent in all aspects over the years. My go-to place for landscaping materials!

Management is phenomenal, Aaron Dieter was incredibly charismatic and helpful. Yard guys were ready to help with whatever was needed. Overall great experience will return for more Topsoil.

The folks at Sandman are outstanding community people! We needed help with a load of screenings for our local baseball program and Sandman stepped up and delivered that same day. Our new baseball cage is safer and bigger in part due to Sandman and other local businesses. Called for a price quote on a load of stone and asked how much for delivery charge and was told 85 dollars to deliver. I let the employee know that the business next door only charges 30 dollars and he hung up on me. This was my second attempt to do business with this company and both encounters I had were extremely unprofessional!

I see bad reviews about this place and don't understand why. one said that the company tried to sell the material and pushed to do the install. this is fake, Sandman has never done installs. You cant pay them to install the material. Second was the 74 year old mother that was told that Sandman would spread the material for her. False. Sandman once again does not spread stone or mulch or topsoil. If the driveway has no trees limbs or wires crossing over it the drivers can spot dump in a couple places or drive away while dumping and kind of spreading the material as they move but they do not charge for doing this. I sure some people have this idea that a dump truck can do the work for them but it is a dump truck. It dumps. Not sure who is posting this type of false hood but, its sad that this is the way someone would try to hurt the reputation of the a hard working honest family business. I love Sandman. They are great for our community.

The service is great, I've had friendly staff every time I've been here however the pricing seems higher than the big box stores. Typically i would think it would be less to purchase here. They want to sell you installation. Both times they seemed put off on the idea of me fling my own work.

My husband and I recently purchased a load of dirt. It contained broken glass, a busted battery and other debris. Best price in town? Hardly, we paid $90 to have it delivered less than 5 miles. NEVER again.
