They have always treated me very professionally and being that I am self-employed I don't do business with people who aren't on the up and up. Ive never had any issues with Sean or Greg and they've always been polite, been going there for years.
Very bad communication skills over the phone got hung up on then called back and out on hold then they guy act like he couldn’t tell me no information or even help me after I told him I really don’t know about car was just trying to give my make n moblie n go from there THEN TRIED TO CHARGE ME $250 for a single used rim 😂😂😂 plus a $35 core charge PS he only said 250 cause he got angry bad business
Here's my experience la point I test drove one of their cars at 4:30 couldn't do nothing at the bank then decided to come back tomorrow .I was told to come back between 1:00 and 1:30 I told him the car was for my daughter my can we come up when she gets off of work at 4:00 .yes just come at 4:00 when she gets off so title can go in her name no problem even called back half hour later got the VIN number so I could do a Carfax call the next day when I'm picking up the daughter at 4:00 and the car is sold my experience with them sucks they do not know how to do business.
Couldn't ask for nicer folks. Shawn at the front counter even though I wasn't there for a big part was friendly and knowledgeable the bearded feller that did the work was extremely friendly and knew what he was doing. If you need parts hard to find or otherwise here is your first last best place to go.
Nice place with nice cars but idk where the discount in the name came from I went there thinking discount and walked in being told the cheapest car is 10 grand. To be fair all the cars are newer and low mileage
Very bad experience with this store. Shawn is very rude and canceled order without any valid reason. He asked for a new payment info but obviously he is not checking his email mesages. Yes we are parts broker but we are legit business. Don't transact with this shop.
They're always on point at La Point! Good prices and they stand behind thier parts and are really good with taking care of customers! I've been dealing with LA Point for years now and have never been let down!
This place has it all at decent price. They are super busy and don't have time for rude people. I treated them w/ respect, they treated me w/ respect. It's not hard
I dealt with Shawn at this location. Since the first interaction, he sounded somewhat rude… we did a transaction over the phone, I provided a fedex shipping label and when I got the part, they sent me the wrong one.
After I called, he kept insisting that he sent me the part I requested. I told him I didn’t order that part because it was completely different than the description I provided to him. After a few minutes arguing he decided to say that he was gonna reimburse me and that the part was not available anymore and I should look somewhere else.
Definitely one of the worse customer service experiences I’ve ever had!
Thought the whole point of wrecking yards was to get the parts cheaper. Quoted me 100 on a ford steel wheel when new they are 105 with free shipping and 70 bucks shipped for used online...THEY WERE OEM
NOT PLEASED THEY DELIVERED A RADIATOR DAMAGED AND I SENT IT BACK AND DID NOT GET MY MONEY BACK WILL NEVER USED THEM AGAIN. WE WILL INFORM THE INSURANCE COMPANYS TO NOT USED THEM.
Drove a couple hours up to get a couple parts for my project car from these folks. Very easy to talk to on the phone, and got an honest opinion on the parts before I drove up.
Got there, they were kind enough to let me see the car first before pulling. Took a few extra minutes but a lot of yards don’t let you do this. Besides, the lobby area is very nice and there are plenty of cool cars for you to look at while waiting.
Pricing was fair, and I was in and out of there quickly for the price that I was quoted for on the phone plus tax.
Honest people, good service, and great facility. That’s a five star junkyard right there. Shame they are a ways from me; but I would totally make that drive again if they have the parts I need.
These guys knocked it out of the park for me and my family. I needed two parts for a VW Bug and we agreed to a reasonable price. I sent my two kids there (16 year old daughter and 15 year old son) to get the parts and when they got there through an interesting series of unfortunate events, locked the keys in the trunk of our car. My daughter was nearly in tears and frustrated, but one of the guys from Lapointe came out, unbolted the back seat to get access to the trunk and got the keys out for them. Thanks to whoever there at Lapointe who helped out my kids when nearly 100 miles from home. I will definitely do more business with you in the future.
S: If you care less about customer service, effective communication, your money, and respect, enjoy your transaction with La Point Discount Auto Parts. With the exception of Josh (thank you!), their staff, Shawn and Greg, are unfriendly, impatient, and rude.
L: On August 16, my partner and I called La Pointe to request more detailed information about car parts they had advertised online and place an order. Shawn was about the business, which we did not mind for the sake of placing our order. However, before sharing my credit card information, I had to remind him that we were potential customers (more than capable of purchasing hundreds of dollars of car parts.) Shawn told us the transaction would be processed the following Tuesday and delivered from Ohio to Maryland by August 22. On Monday, August 19, we called Shawn to follow-up. He was dismissive and unclear about the next steps. La Point charged my credit card $1,475 without any form of communication (e-mail, phone call, text). At a point, we felt we were being scammed, but we remained calm and polite during every follow-up conversation. Now it is Wednesday. My card has been charged. La Point has not provided any detailed feedback, invoice, or payment receipt. After a week of unproductive follow-ups with Shawn and then Greg, aggressively responding "man, we're busy" and "go to any yard in America, you won't find these doors", we did finally receive our order.
Yes, they provided the parts; however, not fully in condition as advertised and the customer service was negligent to nonexistent.
Call in today for a part, Sean picked up and told me its $100 when everywhere else sell for $50, I asked if he could give me a better deal, he said he can do $125 and hung up on me. Weird, because they call themselves "DISCOUNT" Auto Parts. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS STORE. SUPER RUDE.
I had a great experience with this business, specifically Al. We purchased a front end. Later found that few items were broken that were hidden behind the bumper. Al, went out of his way to order those parts and send to our house. Very friendly and professional and most of all saved us hours of driving time. Would recommend any day. Thank you again.
Greg the owner is great. Fun ethical guy!! Purchased a vehicle from him long distance and everything went smooth car was everything he said it was, and more!! Enjoyed the experiece!!
Found La Point discount auto on one of the car part locaters online. Seemed like a stand up place online. So I gave them a credit card over the phone so they would pull a set of seat belts for my mom's car. $107. Needed belts due to faulty wiring plugs and a light collision so I was buying them for the plugs. These people unscrewed every bolt did good job too. Then they ripped wiring right out of the plugs, I came to them for. No refund offered... Drove 120 MILES. Oneway. Place is clean but can't unplug 2 wire harness that is critical to parts working properly.
The people at Lapoint were very helpful and professional. I was in need of a window switch for my 2010 Honda Accord. They had it in stock and installed it for me at no charge!!
Called for parts and asked for a better price liberty wholesale had same parts for 150 less, guy on the phone said nope told him thanks keep your parts I'll buy from liberty the guy was very rude and acted like his junkyard parts were better than another yards found perfect parts at liberty for way less don't waste your time here read all the reviews not good i rebuild 8-10 cars a year and always look for the best prices lapoint is not the place to go for a deal or friendly service
bought a $1700 motor from here. I had engine knock as soon as it was fired up. I was given bullshit about as-is condition. why the hell would i want to buy a broken motor?? and at $1700! They have a huge selection and sometimes they're the only place in town with what i need. but i refuse to buy anything mechanical from them again. only small body parts and accessories.
Purchased a car door on EBay from Lapoint Discount Auto Parts. Their online sales guy informed me that the car door I purchased from them was damaged in shipment after it left their facility (before it ever reached me). He then informed me that he would not refund my $325.00 until he received the door back from the shipping company. Had I been the one requesting to return the door, I could understand that I would need to wait until he received the door before a refund was issued. However, the door was damaged before it ever reached me. Therefore, I should not have been required to wait for a refund until he received the door back. I had to file a PayPal claim to get my money back. Very disappointing because I was going to buy several other parts they had online. Fortunately, I found another seller who had the door and parts I needed for my car. I actually ended up paying $75 less than what I originally paid Lapoint so it turned out great for me. But the hassle I went through with Lapoint means I will NEVER buy from again.
We own six older cars, needless to say we do need parts parts now and then to keep them in good working order. LaPoint is the go to place, rarely do we have a problem with the parts we purchase, but if we do they are happy to make it right. The salesmen, Skip, Al, and Cory are very knowledgeable and helpful. The showroom is beautiful, you would never know you were at a salvage yard, full of the owners awesome car collection. Thanks guys!
I ordered two used wheels. When they arrived, I had them mounted on the car. From the beginning they wouldn't hold air. The same trouble I had had with the old rims I took off. I tried refilling the LaPoint rims with air several times. Each time the tires lost all pressure. I e-mailed Cory to advise him what was occuring and that I was going to send the two LaPoint wheels back. No response. A few days later, I sent the wheels back. That next day, I had the old rims machined down and they've worked perfect ever since. Cory called me the next day. I repeated my story and said I no longer wanted any more wheels. Cory said he would have to "talk to management". Never heard another word from Cory. About two days later, the two wheels were back on my front porch when I got home. I wrote Greg LaPoint, president of LaPoint and I told him of my experience and asked him to call me at a given number so we could work something out on my refund. His company sold me defective wheels and I had NTB here in town to back me up and I was owed a refund. Again, no response. A couple days later, I sent the wheels back to LaPoint again. A couple days later, they sent the wheels back to me but this time I was home and I rejected their delivery and notified FedEx not to bring anything from LaPoint to my door. I've filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office. I've filed a "dispute" with Visa. This is no way to do business and everyone should be aware of the unethical way they conduct their business. Greg LaPoint has a paragraph about his company's philosophy of doing business. There isn't one smidgeon of reality compared to actual day to day treatment of their customers. These problems start at the top and are how they do business. It is companies like this one that make on-line shopping so risky. Buyer beware.
Bought used transmission from this place ... it was incorrectly advertised and was the wrong part for my car. This was discovered AFTER the transmission was installed = 7 days gone and $450 labor on top of the $700 transmission gone. LaPoint admitted their incorrect advertisement and sent an REPLACEMENT used transmission. The shipment was lost (or they didn't send it when they said they did) but finally arrives 20 days later; it was installed only to find out that THIS transmission has no 3rd gear! Now, LaPoint won't refund my money for the part, won't pay for labor (now $900.00) ... and I've been out car for a month. They JUST hung up on me when I inquired about my refund! I don't think you want to do business here.
