Everything was going great until the magnet operator dropped a safe I was recycling onto my trailer and broke my trailer. He didn't even say he was sorry! I informed the guy at the desk inside ani even showed him pictures. He said he'd have to talk to his managerand he would call me back. We'll see....
Great people, great price. I don't go anywhere else. I love supporting businesses that support Marion and try to make things better. So we can get back to the old days of a great Marion Ohio. Keep up the good work guys and see u next time.
I never even think of going anywhere else to recycle. They will help you unload if you need help, they are respectful. I have never had a bad experience here. The guys in the yard and office know the products and answer any questions. I know the owner, he has gone out of his way to make this the place to recycle. Thanks Friction Metals!
Had a issue with my weight slip not matching the weight that I saw. The owner was quick to get down to the bottom of the issue and fix it. Brandon is a real stand up guy who actually takes pride in customer service.
I remember back in 2017 when friction metals came to marion,year before that Sims had bought out general recycling and closed it.after that ,prices in marion went down to 4 cents a pound or 80 a ton and stayed that way even when others were paying more.friction changed all that,we had competition again instead of a local monopoly. We've been going to friction for about 5 yrs now or close enough.fairly simple,push button they weigh you tell you where to throw off,reweigh get paid.at Sims it's much the same except you get out to the yard and you wait for the yard master to show which could take some time.after he views it then you're told where to go to sort and throw off your metal,this means you might go to 3 different locations.then finally you leave and get paid.could take an hr per trip.at friction it could take as little as 15 min all told.
Although my experience with the company is small. I have heard a few stories of late that would negate a review as such. I understand a Customer Loyalty idea so to speak. If there are customers that come in regularly they get to by pass certain rules due to that factor. I had a friend recently pass through this establishment and found he followed the rules that were set fourth and by doing so was wronged. A regular customer came through jumped line and then started a demeaning argument . My friend gets pulled aside and made to feel less than by the employees of this establishment. Listen equal is equal either way take time to hear your customers out maybe you'll end up with better quality business. Thanks
Extremely unprofessional place , bad customer service . Employees very rude . Telling one person prices and telling another person for same exact things a different price . This place is just bad all together and rips people off . I was completely in shock on how they treat people
This place is a rip off. Sims is just as close for the majority of people in marion. I advise you all go to sims.
Now if you go there with cans they make you take your plastic bags back with you.......what kind of place does that????. They don't seem to be able to recycle or pay for their own garbage bill.

Great place to sell your shred metal, decent friendly people. Very confusing the first time I went there. Pull in, and use the call box on the scale. They take your name and weight, then you pull around to dump your metal. Then you drive back to the scale where the call box is now on the wrong side. After that it's a bit confusing to know where to go. Easy way is to turn into the building entry and head through the middle till the exit. Stop just before the exit, and the office is on the left. That is where they pay you/ get your receipt.
Great staff. Little confusing on first few visits until you get the hang of it. To pull in push button after you've gone to register your vehicle with them then go in yard where person tells you then to pull out and circle back around to beginning. Dont give much explanation on where to go after you dump your stuff which is why I say confusing. But overall great friendly staff!! An when I get the hang of how to drive in and out and all I will feel even better. But will keep my business with this place!!!!
