Quaint and super clean stop along the road. Delicious food and great service made a lunch break in the middle of a 5 hour drive actually enjoyable. Dive bar without the divey-ness!
This is one of our most favorite places to go! Everything is good, the place, the owners, the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and I love all of the themes and weekly activities like open mic night and trivia! When the weather is nice and the patio is open, you need to go have a drink and watch a great local band on a Friday or Saturday night. It’s definitely worth the trip, no matter where you’re coming from!
We opted to sit in the air conditioned bar and enjoy getting to know the regular customers. Loved the friendly staff and fantastic service! In addition, there is a cool shaded beer garden area out back. Will definitely recommend visiting this historic tavern and definitely look forward to returning in the future to catch the live music ! Ordered from this place for the first time with grubhub. I ordered chicken tenders and cheese fries. Everything arrived cold. The fries were stale on top of being cold. The chicken was dry, tough to chew, and had little to no flavor.
Under new ownership, food was great, great place to ride to and grab a great meal and a cold beer! Brit was super good at keeping up with our table and drinks!
Update: Fried green tomatoes are rocking, washed down with some Mango Cart made for another great visit to Britt & Randys destination... don't miss out my fellow bikers!!!
My friends and I come here to get dinner often because the atmosphere is great. The service is very hands-off but friendly--I think this is a good thing, though. No one pressures anyone to pick something off the menu quickly and we can eat at our own pace. It’s nice being able to just order when you want. Also, the menu is extensive. I recommend supporting the Hitching Post.

I used to go here with my parents as a young kid, when it was owned by Red Huber. He had a Christmas party with candy and toys and photos with Santa Claus and, for me even better, Smokey Alston. The current version is excellent in its own way, with an outdoor music venue. The food was amazingly good.
New owners have taken a step back. Came in and advised the owner we had a group of 20 people coming, had called about a week prior. Claimed she didn't know what we were talking about. Took a very long time to serve few customers at the bar. Had an attitude the duration of my visit. Additional staff came in later and we're also slow and less then interested in helping customers. Definitely a step down from previous ownership. Food is same as before, good with good portions and alcohol is as expected. No other food options in area.
Positively THE best fried pickles I've ever had! Thin, crispy and perfectly done. It was my first time back in years and Brittany created me a delicious Cucumber Mule that I'll be thinking about until the next time I go in. Friendly and quick service, great conversation and amazing drinks & food. Will definitely be back!
We stopped here for a change from the Miami college bars while visiting our daughter and had a great time!!! The owners are wonderful and fun people, the live music was great and we enjoyed the food and drinks too! We will definitely go back next time we are in Oxford!
So this place is a restaurant in the day time (until 10pm) and then a bar at night when only adults are allowed. It gets real packed in the afternoon, I'd recommend an early lunch. The chicken wings were some of the best I've ever had and for some reason all the fried food we got was so much better than everywhere else, the onion rings and French fries were great.
Chicken tinders are good! Fries are larger steak fries. Combo appetizer is a good sampler. Bartender specialized my drink & it was yummy! Smaller bar with 1 pool table. New Years was packed. Sometimes they have bands there, which also get pretty crowded. Usually 1-2 bartender/servers on. Not too bad for a small town bar. Larger outside covered & closed in area in back of bar with heater in winter.
We absolutely love this place. It's a 30 minute drive from our house. They never let us down. Food is always amazing, fresh, non processed, and still hot on a carryout. They know to make a good drink as well! It may look small, but they have a huge patio. We feel safe here after all this covid 19. I highly suggest you check out The Hitching Post!

Historical landmark in Dartown, Ohio. Good food, cold beer, friendly atmosphere. Live music on select nights. Always a must place to check out if you're on a bike cruise out that way!
This is the absolute best small town bar ever. The atmosphere is relaxed and diverse. The food is WELL above average for "bar food", in fact it's not uncommon at all to stop here only to eat. Wednesday night's "Open Mic Night" is the best around!
Band Reloaded was great, wings was good, some of the employees were not very friendly while. Others were very friendly. I am not a regular and could definitely feel the difference in the way the staff treated people.
Even though my friend and I were not from the small town- the bar was still friendly and open. Good prices on good well drinks.
There was a local band playing and the ambience was nice. A huge outdoor space in the back- it was too cold the night I went but- I look forward to going back.
Jan 3, 2915 Now that the bar has new owners ( Pat and Tasha ) it's a wonderful place to stop at. They have brought back what a neighborhood bar should be. Great food, cold beer. Very clean. Stop by and play a game of pool or just hang out. Staff is friendly and happy to see ya.
