Port City Towing offered the best rate out of all the places I called for a tow over 30 miles! They picked up my car from a service shop in Wilmington and dropped it off in my driveway (On a slope) in Sneads Ferry, all without me being present for either. I paid online and received pictures of my car before they left! Excellent service that made everything so convenient while I was working. Matt is the guy to use!!
Port City Towing deserves every bit of praise I can give. My husband and I needed our car moved from our parking lot to a mechanic, and they made what could have been a stressful situation completely painless. Their rates were about 25% lower than every other towing company we called in Wilmington, and instead of pushing us to book immediately, they actually encouraged us to check other prices and work it out on our own schedule.
Matt was the one who helped us, and he was outstanding. He called to let us know he was on the way, showed up right on time, and treated us with genuine kindness and understanding when we were already frustrated about car trouble. He even went the extra mile by recommending a mechanic who had our car fixed in under 48 hours at a price that still feels unreal.
The care he took loading our car was impressive. You’d think he was transporting a classic show car instead of our very tired daily driver. It’s rare to see someone treat your vehicle like it’s their own, and rarer still to find a company that clearly puts the customer first instead of the clock.

This is the worst costumer service experience that I have in a while. I don’t usually take time out of my busy day to write a review. Port City Towing had absolutely the worst demeanor towards my 81 year old mother and myself. Terrible person on the phone. Stay away.
Good experience with Port City Towing. I needed a car towed across town to an auto shop. Unknowingly the shop had moved recently so my car was initially brought to the incorrect address. Their driver called me right away to let me know, he talked with the boss and they brought it the correct address for no additional fee. I appreciate their integrity, reasonable prices and communication. Thanks guys!
Today I received service from Port city towing & recovery. Very personable and very helpful with their service. Matt was very helpful with information on where it was best for my vehicle to go. I appreciate him so much and that moment for making me feel like my situation was just as important to him. As much it was important to me and a moment it felt like family thank you guys.

I am disappointed with the service provided by Port City Towing and Recovery. After receiving a quote, I was hung up on four times when attempting to call back and left a message. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to seek alternative towing services.

I was having a very bad day when my vehicle broke down, I called Port City Towing of Wilmington and they were there in less than 20minutes. I was broke down in a very inconvenient spot but Matt would not be deterred or bothered by that. He hooked it up within 5 minutes and we were on our way to the shop. My day didn't end there. The shop wanted to gouge me and I couldn't afford it so I needed it towed again to my place
I called them back and to my luck I got Matt again! He hooked it up and followed me to my house and upon hearing my story. He informed me that I didn't in fact need a new battery (at 320$)! And the alternator I needed (374.99 plus 40 core) he took the time to find it for me for $300. Best and fastest service I have ever received and the most pleasant experience in spit of my horrible day. Matt saved me at least $420! Thanks you guys , I will tell anyone who will listen that y'all are where it's at!
No one is having a great day when you've to have our broken car towed. Port city towing gave the best price but their customer service actually made my day WAY BETTER! they also confirmed the honesty of mechanic shop I was requesting do my repairs. I highly reccomend and give all the kudos to these folks!
This company doesn’t even deserve a one-star.
Called in the late evening and a man answered the phone with an immediate tone. He asked for my location and I wasn’t really sure but I gave him landmarks. I knew I was down market st but couldn’t identify the crossing intersection. He proceeds to get an attitude and tell me he’s nowhere near me and all the way in Leland and to call his other location. I asked for the other location and he aggressively tells me “well I have two locations!! One is here one is there, YOU NEED TO CALL ******.” I was already emotionally in distress and you could tell over the phone, from having to deal with my car being broke down and then this terrible attitude. I was not rude to him and I didn’t get hostile. I was trying my best to de-escalate the situation long enough to get a towing service for my car. I asked for his name and he proceeds to ask me why did I need to know his name. Poor service all around.
PCT&R has helped my family out numerous times. Always courteous and professional and willing to the extra mile to help. Cannot recommend them enough. They treated me like they knew my family for years!!

My SUV had an issue due to a repair from a mechanic shop and Port City Towing was very fast and got my SUV safely back to the mechanic so the shop can fix it again. Matt was the tow driver that came to my aide. He was Quick, professional and seemed genuinely concerned about my unfortunate circumstance. Reassuring me everything would be okay.
