It's been a few years but still worth mentioning that this place attempted to steal $125 from me. My daughter wrecked her car at Mayfair, the officer called for a wrecker, Ace Wrecker was on the "rotation" (which is basically a legal gouging scam where the police call for "your" towing service and you have no say as who it is or what it costs). I came to claim the car 2 days later at which point the bill was around $480. I later showed the bill to one of my co-workers who ran a local tow service in Riegelwood and he said they had charged me $75 for rigging that isn't even used to tow a car. Also included in the bill was a $50 title claim fee which by law cannot be filed before 30 days (at which point it's assumed that you are abandoning the vehicle because you can't afford to pay $200 a day storage) where they assume YOUR title and then they own YOUR vehicle. It took a great effort but I was able to track down the officer on the scene of the accident and he said "they're not going to get away with that". A month or two later I received a check in the mail for $125 from Ace Wrecker service covering both the rigging and the title claim. If you've had your vehicle towed by this company, you may be entitled to some of your money back!

I got in a car accident and asked to get my vehicle towed down the street to the collision center of my choice which they refused or told me I had to give them $275 cash to drop it back down, every other wrecker service in Wilmington offered to take it wherever I preferred. My insurance company called on a 3 way phone call to let them know my car was to be released and that I could come get my belongings before my insurance company came to pick it up. No one informed me that I must be wearing tennis shoes on the phone nor did they inform me that I needed my registration to get my belongings while I was on the phone. They were extremely rude about it seeing that I had to drive 45 minutes to get here to pick my things up. I have never dealt with such a rude wrecker service in Wilmington before. Usually they are very understanding and helpful. If you ever have them pick up your vehicle I'm sorry but please ask the officer if you can call another wrecker service because I know I will be! There is no need to treat someone who has just been in a car accident so horrible. I understand they deal with idiots sometimes but that doesn't give the right to treat everyone they encounter so rudely. Even the employee that picked up my vehicle at the time of the accident was extremely rude. And if someone needs to be wearing certain items to pick up there belongings then they need to be told on the phone when they say they are coming to get their items out of the vehicle! It's bad enough someone is already upset about being in a car accident. My insurance called them to let them know they would be picking up the vehicle in the morning while I was sitting in the waiting office and the other lady proceeded to offend me and make rude comments not realizing I was sitting on the other side of the wall. If I could rate this place no stars I would however you can't write a review without at least picking one

Broke down at 4:pm in Wilmington. No other company in the area was willing to help until I called Ace. They were able to tow my entire rig back to Raleigh with one truck (Ford Excursion and my 25 foot boat). The driver, Donald was a great guy and very helpful. They are stored in my phone now. I could not be happier with them.
