This place was fantastic. Had a screw in the tire. Took it to them and they were able to plug the tire. Had a squeak with the same wheel. They said I needed brake pads. They were able to install them. I RECOMMEND TAKE YOUR CAR TO THESE PEOPLE.
We had our check engine light come on while here from out of town, and on a weekend. We stayed a couple extra nights and it was recommended to go to Superior to get a diagnosis on Monday. They were very friendly and promptly got to us, and within a short time had us fixed up and ready to travel. Would recommended them highly! Thanks so much Superior!

I would absolutely not recommend going here. Very rude, poor communication, and they damaged our vehicle. This has been a nightmare! Eventually it was fixed (after 7 weeks and too many phone calls to count). If you are looking for a simple, professional experience do not go here.

She dared to pull my car out and refused to service it just because I complained that my car had been sitting out there for an hour and had not been serviced after I dropped it at 8am as SCHEDULED!!! What was she expecting!!!!! For me to be happy to come after an hour just to find out my car has not been moved????! And when I asked her why didn’t she at least text me or let me know they were running behind, her excuse was: “I have been very busy!” Well …. She’s not the only busy person in the world! I’m a busy person too! I took time off from work to take my car serviced! And that’s exactly why I went in person and scheduled the appointment for first thing in the morning!!!!
I’m still in shock 😳 I honestly have never seen any place like this!!!! Where they tell the technician to close the hood and pull the car back out! I don’t care what kind of day you are having lady! But if tour job is to deal with customers you better have the skills to deal with it! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!
I can’t say enough about the quality of service Superior Automotive provides! I wish I could give 10 stars. Joe and Alex were outstanding. Don’t hesitate to trust them with your automotive needs. They went over and beyond for me! How lucky are we to have them on the island!
I live less than 1/2 mile from Superior.
I dropped off my Lexus for a starter replacement. This involves removing upper and lower intakes and a gasket replacement. Requiring multiple hours for labor.
Within two days, new problems developed with the engine running rough. Multiple engine alerts appeared and engine codes noted alarms from two exhaust sensors. I took it to Blacks Tire for evaluation. Once they got under the hood they called me to ask if any one had recently worked on the engine. I shared it had just been to Superior.
They found a large leak in the head/intake and evidence of recent work with bolts having been only hand tightened, connector was left off vapor control valve, loose bolts on the timing cover, clamps loose on intake air snorkel. On Further tear down, a lower intake bolt was also only hand tight and required no wrench for removal.
There was a lot of dirt and debris in the prior work area, indicating a lack of adequate cleaning and surface prep to the worksite along with sand and crust interfering with the gasket sealing surface.
An unrelated new issue was noted requiring coil and spark plug replacement to cylinder five.
I returned to Superior with the documentation from Blacks auto service highlighting the mismanagement of the repairs done at Superior. I spoke to the front desk person who became defensive until the owner stepped in, Mike. I gave them a copy of the Blacks Auto documentation.
Mike said he’ll talk to Blacks Tire folks and get back to me as I was asking for a refund on the labor, they charged me for the incompetent work performed on my intake. This directly caused additional problems and $650 more to fix what they had messed up.
Superior asked why I didn’t return to their shop for evaluation, I shared after what was discovered there was no way my car is ever coming back to Superior.
The next day I received a form response by text indicating that no refund would be issued.
Seriously consider taking your car elsewhere and avoid leaving with much more problems ($$$) than when you dropped your car off.

Due to my location, I am not a customer, but I was purchasing a vehicle that had history of being serviced there. I called and the lady who answered (Melody?) was extremely helpful and kind. She took time out of her day to help me look up the vehicle to see if the history would be helpful for my purchase info.
If you need work on your vehicle, I cannot say enough good stuff about Superior. I’ve had several vehicles worked on here, and have the same assessment every time…professional, competent, thorough, fair, and honest.
A shade tree Mechanic did a piss poor job replacing an alternator in my Land Rover.
The belt was not on the pulley, a wiring harness had not been secured and was laying on the pulley, and the windshield washer fluid reservoir was flopping loose, and there were some other stuff he failed to complete.
I took it to them and in less than two hours they had everything fixed to perfection, and I was pleasantly surprised at how low the bill was! I highly recommend them!
Great place. Great Southern hospitality. Had a leaking plug in a tire. I did not want to drive 800 miles back home on a questionable tire. They got me straightened out in 30 min.
This afternoon, Mike put my mind at ease. Two weeks ago, my old trailer broke its axle. Left me in a bad spot. I had to make a quick purchase of a new trailer. Tractor Supply Whiteville was the closest dealer with correct size and price range. Made the first haul to the landfill, I noticed first load had trailer swaying to the left. Took to a Wilmington trailer repair shop, he reported, "Everything is fine". That guy tested with his small narrow car and not a fullsized truck. If he had used his truck, he would have seen the problem.
Stopped by Mike's Superior Automotive - Carolina Beach. He spent quality time studying the situation. Took a test drive in my truck and at once saw what was upseting me. With a measuring tape he showed me how to measure trailer alignment. Simple but very impressive. Mike spoted the problem, not in the tires or axle, but in the bed itself. No other mechanic nor trailer sales person understood my situation. Thank you Mike for putting my wife and my mind at ease.
Sadly we had a flat tire. And Gary was so very helpful fixed our muffler which had caused a hole in our tire and could have been much worse than what it was. He saved us from having a possible or potential threatening accident on the highway. And we are so appreciative and thankful to him and the crew. Thank you so much.
It was a bumpy experience getting my clutch replaced on my 93 jeep but Superior came through and made it right in the end. The 1st clutch was apparently faulty parts they received. Jeep is running great now. Superior (Mike) took responsibility for the situation and did the right thing. I would highly recommend Superior to anyone that wants an honest mechanic that does great work.
Superior Automotive is truly a place that cares about people, and they do a great job! Had a piece of metal removed from a tire the very next day after late the night before on my way home from work I left my car there because they were closed. And even though they were not expecting me and were busy, they helped me out and squeezed me in. They noticed after removing the metal, that all tires needed air and filled them for me.
Then I took my car there for an oil change the following week. I will be taking my vehicle there from now on!

I brought my vehicle in for repair after waiting weeks for the appointment. I told them I believed I needed a new engine based on the history of burning oil even after it had been repaired in August. They charged me for diagnostics, told me I needed a new engine and then told me they were not going to do the job. So I paid for absolutely nothing. I work hard for my money just like everyone and now I’m out $123 and have to take it elsewhere for diagnostics before I can get what I need for my car. If they knew they weren’t going to replace the engine, why did they keep my car for 1 1/2 days and then give me a bill? That was shady and I’ll never do business with them.
I was in a bind due to my Jeep being stuck in 4 wheel drive. Having to return back home to Charlotte NC Saturday and most Auto Repair businesses being booked until the following week. Melody was kind and had me come see Mike the owner who helped get my Jeep into 2 wheel drive. This was definitely a blessing! Thanks to the friendly people at Superior Automotive!
This place is amazing and honest! I brought it in at 8am and it was done by the end of the day. I got my rear brakes, struts and sway bar links all done for 1200. The parts were 650 and the labor was 470. Will definitely be coming here for all of my future car needs!!
Superior Automotive is the real deal. I was in town on vacation and had a damaged tire. These guys were very quick to get me on the schedule for a new pair of front tires. Less than 24 hours later I was back on the road and ready for the long drive home. Highly recommended, A+
I wish I could give them a 6 star or more review. I arrived in Carolina Beach and my pathfinder said that a tire was low on pressure. I took my vehicle to be fixed. They fixed it. Only $20 to fix a tire leak and plug it. These people are the best and 110% honest. Thank you so much.

Got a tire puncture while on vacation. I knew it was repairable but I didn't want to take the time away from my family to do it myself. I also figured a mechanic would gouge us since we're on vacation and needed it done now. This was not the case here. These guys got me right in and fixed my tire for cheap and I was out in 20 minutes. Good service needs recognized. If you're on vacation and need a repair, use these guys.
Excellent customer service! Quality of work is "Superior". Had to get work done on my Daughter's car while we were on family vacation. Chose Superior based on positive reviews I read. imagine having struts replaced on a front wheel drive car and it taking 5 weeks and 20 excuses with attitude.
They installed new struts on my Honda prelude and both of them failed and damaged my hood. Nothing but hassle and excuses.
I got my vehicle back a month later and was told I could have a free oil change and tire rotation.
No thanks, I would rather tell everyone I know what a crappy shop this is. Stay away, very far away.
