Mint Hill Automotive did a fantastic job fixing my car! The quality of their work was excellent, the pricing was very reasonable, and the whole experience was smooth from start to finish. Max was very helpful, professional, and made sure everything was clearly explained. The office staff was friendly and helpful, and Turbo the shop dog was the cutest bonus! Look no further for a trustworthy and professional automotive repair shop! I brought my 2017 Jeep Wrangler in because I broke a bolt that was stuck in the cylinder head. Dropped a 2009 F150 off with a/c problems and in need of a radiator flush. A/C is back up and running at 100%. Radiator is clean as a whistle. All work was completed that day and we picked it up at 430pm. Good people with even better service.
My uncle uses Mint Hill Auto to service and maintain his van. I had gone them to service the van and Angela and Max were very professional. Angela was informative during the scheduling and they did the service and state inspection in the time promised. Max is honest and his suggestions have helped us save a bunch of money on the maintenance of the van.
I also needed copies of the van service history for a warranty claim and they had detailed records which helped us understand the maintenance history and helped with the claim submission.
I recommend them highly.

My nephew who had a very limited budget needed brakes and tires. They had a great price on brakes and they recommended few places to compare cost on tires. They saved him a lot of money. I love that they care enough to work with him. He was very happy it wasn’t going to be thousands of dollars. I highly recommend them.

I visited Mint Hill Automotive (MHA) today for help with a DIY repair on my 2003 Mazda pickup truck. I had begun the repair but ran into an issue requiring tools and experience that I didn’t have.
So, after an online search for auto repair shops near me, I took the truck to MHA to see if they could help me. I kind of expected them to say that they don’t work on DIY problems! But to my surprise, Max was willing to help me immediately even though he was working on another vehicle at the time. He quickly found the right tool and with skill and a little muscle, he resolved my issue and I was on my way in less than 30 minutes.
I can’t say enough at how impressed I am with MHA. If they help a first-time visitor like me as well as they did, I can only imagine how well they treat their long-time customers! They are now #1 on my list of auto repair and maintenance shops in Mint Hill. I’ve already recommended them to a friend and will do so to others who need expert, honest and friendly service for their automotive needs …….. even if it involves a DIY repair!

My car got a total makeover! New breaks, fixed daytime running lights, and a synthetic oil change. Much needed maintenance done in great time and my car now runs like new! Angela at the front desk is also a lovely delight and great with communicating about appointments. Will be back!

I can’t say enough about Mint Hill Automotive! They are wonderful and a very caring set of people. Max is a great, nice guy who knows his stuff! Angela who is the receptionist is also very nice. Being stranded on the interstate and not knowing the area; once the state trooper found this company, Max came flying up in about 10 minutes. Had me back riding in 1.5 hours on a job that is normally a difficult one to fix because of how the parts are arranged under the hood. But he got it done. He was very helpful and considerate knowing that I was 2.5 hours from home. Please give them a try if you are in Mint Hill area and have automotive issue. They’re the best!
We’ve all been there: driving to work and your radiator decides to take a leak. After a quick Google search, luckily I was able to drive to Mint Hill Automotive and have them take a look. Max investigated the situation and diagnosed, made his recommendation, looked up the needed parts and gave me a solid price. Honest work at a fair price. They have worked on two of my vehicles and I never felt any negative feelings on their evaluation. On more than one occasion they have suggested against doing additional work I requested saving me hundreds because it they felt it was unnecessary. I have done business with them 6 times and each repair was completed when promised and repaired properly.
I would strongly suggest against doing business with this company. It appears the owner values his emotions more than his loyal customers, who have supported him for years and referred many others to him. The problem began with the SIXTH family vehicle we brought to him in late 2021, which my husband asked the owner to lower to remove a gap in the wheel well, but specifically requested that it not be lowered too much so that it could be driven daily. Unfortunately, the owner lowered it to his liking, and when my husband picked it up and asked why the car was so low, the shop owner expressed that he thought it looked way better this low. This resulted in every bump, parking lot, and speed bump scraping the living life out the bottom of the car daily.
Starting in 2020 - 2022, my husband faced serious health problems, several hospital stays, major surgery while operating his busy business. He contacted Max, the owner of this shop, regarding issues with the car being too low. Max promised to fix it but only within a specific timeframe, even though he did the opposite of what was asked and was still paid for it. Due to my husband operating a very busy business himself, his health issues constantly put operations behind, so now he had to find the time to take the vehicle back within a certain timeframe because the mechanic did the opposite of what a paying customer asked.
As a business owner, Max should definetly have honored a bit of leniency, considering the time my husband did not have, the inconvenience of even having to go back again since this mechanic did what he thought "looked good" versus what the paying customer asked and still paid him for.
Due to health issues, plus my terminally ill mother living with us, and a busy business, we let this incident slide. In September 2023, my husband gave Max another chance, sending a list of repairs needed. The car stayed at the shop for 20 days. When it was finally picked up, it was parked in a mud puddle in the grass under a tree like a junk car, both the interior and exterior trashed, including extensive damage on the custom wheels.
Overall we paid $ 155 to tow the car to this shop. My husband paid another $529.23 to Mint Hill Automotive at pick up; again none of the repairs needed were done. The car broke down minutes later, incurring another $155 tow fee to another mechanic and another $233.22 battery replacement cost. We then paid the other mechanic who fixed everything for $210.15
Overall the entire ordeal cost us $ 1,282.90
Please allow me to mention that for the entire 20 days, we were dealing with HOA complaints and fine threats due to having a commercial vehicle (husband's work vehicle) parked in our driveway, and we are still waiting to hear back if we were fined for this.
Despite this ordeal and all the damage to the vehicle, Max refused a refund, citing my husband's upset tone. As small business owners ourselves, we jump hoops for our customers, and take many unpleasant calls, emails and tones 99.99% of the time due to customers not reading our agreements. We never ever get defensive, nor do as we please and expect them to pay for something they never even asked for nor would we ever charge them for a service we never even attempted to complete. This shop owners negligence and unprofessionalism are very evident in the attached pictures.
