I’ve been a customer at this lkq location for a long time, Not complaining about parts . but since the last two visits , the experience has gone downhill badly. The lady at check out is extremely disrespectful and has a terrible attitude toward customers. I was treated in a way that felt discriminatory and unprofessional specially she now that i don't know Spanish she started speaking in Spanish. The way they speak to customers and handle business is unacceptable. I never had these issues before, but now the environment feels hostile and uncomfortable. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this place as long as this lady is in charge

Very bad experience. The cashier, who said she is the manager, was extremely rude. She started talking in Spanish about me to the people with her, which is very unprofessional and disrespectful. She also tried to overcharge me for small details. This is the second time this happens when I buy parts from this junkyard. Really bad attitude and poor customer service. I do not recommend this place.

Our national automotive business is experiencing persistent inventory and pricing issues with employee Diana at the LKQ Durham location on South Miami Blvd. Specifically, Diana frequently misidentifies items or charges incorrect prices. The most recent incident occurred today, October 27, 2025, involving the purchase of an interior map/dome light. Throughout this month, we have been charged the standard "interior light" fee for these items at various LKQ yards statewide. However, for the last week, when dealing with Diana, she has consistently priced the light as a "center console," which is double the correct price. This practice, which we have only observed with this employee, negatively impacts our inventory pricing and overall customer experience. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident; previous poor experiences have also affected the amount of business we conduct at this location. It is our hope that this review attracts the attention of someone with the leadership team so that we may share a more detail account of our experience to improve transparency with your prices. Update: "During our recent visit on 10/30, we were checking out with Diana when she unexpectedly confronted us about a prior online review. While processing our purchase, she stated, 'I found your business on the internet, your prices are very high and you also call the piece center console on your store. I had to do my due diligence just in case.' This employee's actions were completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Our business's inventory and pricing are irrelevant to the core issue: why LKQ suddenly changed the classification and price of the interior map light—a piece you sold for a set price as a interior light for 27 days in October—and then on the 28th day started selling it as a 'center console for twice the price. Even on the day (10/27) of our purchase of the interior light, the employee assisting us entered it as an interior light and only after he requested Diana's assistance with indentifying another item she then came over and changed it to center console.'

Folks at the LKQ Durham, Giovanni, Mauritius, and especially Diana, make my visits pleasant and hassle free! There isn't a time that I would visit that I would not feel welcomed. Diana, especially, goes out of her way to make my purchases pleasant. She is a real jewel to the operation at the Durham location, and if we had many of her personality, LKQ can't go wrong in promoting customer service!

Friendly staff. I traveled from Greensboro to PYP in Durham only to find out the part was gone when I got there. They need to have a better way of keeping track of their inventory.

Their website design is easy to use and easy to locate your parts needed. Staff are knowledgeable and are eager to help. Will be returning to shop and buy more. The recent price influx on some items is a damper but they are just adjusting to the economy.

Just got robbed without a gun. Never sell them your car. Got a ok quote of 255. Got there to pick up check they said the muffler was modified so they're only going to pay me 155. I would have never done this deal. I feel violated.

Went to LKQ to get a part for my son's car. Diana the sales representative was great! She greeted us with the most pleasant smile and made us feel welcomed. I love seeing representative's who are knowledgeable about the job, and are a real person. Some people just do enough just to get in and out of their day. I love people who love what they do for a living, and not because they are paid to do it.. Diana keep on doing what you do!!

Plenty of parking but quite a long and narrow walk rhe car area with 7000 volt fencing so be careful with a walker or wheelchair or if you have balance issues. Don’t recommend for assistive devices because of the gravel and narrow spaces. Friendly staff and we got what we needed

They were trying to charge me a side mirror as the same price of the whole assembly. Your better off going to Raleigh LKQ, they are nicer and understanding on price for parts. I got the mirror at Raleigh LKQ for $14 compared to $45 from Durhams LKQ.

Most customers only leave reviews for bad service and never acknowledge when service is not only above average, but also consistent. As someone who frequents this establishment almost daily, i can tell you that Diana and Adriana ALWAYS make the visit pleasant and hassle free. And not just them, but the entire current staff. Management has certainly changed the hiring process and employee training over the last 2 years. Keep up the good work!

Very great experience, the crew here is very motivated to get you right & help you in the best way possible. Lovely people & great place to pick your parts

The fact that they have a database and electronic look-up system is such a huge help. Some of these negative reviews are perhaps a little unjustified. This is a salvage yard, not a target, or an auto parts store. I’ve had great experiences with the staff (being polite and recognizing that the staff aren’t the CEOs of the company can go a long way). For finding hard-to-source and discontinued parts, it’s awesome. They fact that you are allowed to physically acquire parts is pretty uncommon and shouldn’t be taken for granted. How could you not love the experience of finding your own parts?

LKQ, it hurts me but you only get 3 stars because of your awful phone support and your sometimes not very good pricing. You absolutely cannot talk to a live human unless you're selling a car without going to the physical location. Make sure you check prices for items because some times you can get new parts cheaper than buying used here depending on what you drive. (Edit to respond to their reply) I'd love be able to contact you at the mentioned link but that doesn't work either. You select the city and subject and the only option I see besides the regular menu items is a button that says something like 'Have more to say, press to reset form" which does exactly what it sounds like... Clears your selection. All I want to know is what the price is on a torsion key without driving 15 miles to ask. What it really means is that I'll probably buy it off of eBay.

Terrible attitudes. Bad directions to rows vs. spaces . One of the kinder employees tried showing me which cars wouldn’t have the part I needed, but another employee waved her off so they could collect my $3.00, fully knowing I wouldn’t be getting anything. Then they accused me of trying to steal from them on the way out, carrying a bag that’s 8” x 7” which can barely hold the 4 pairs of pliers I brought. They said there’s a sign about checking bags, but I looked at it and it’s so sun bleached you cannot read it! Go somewhere else, anywhere else, I implore you.

A young gentleman by the name of Mauriceo,( hope I my pronunciation is correct). He helped me with a battery today. This guy knew exactly what battery size I needed. I told him to tell his boss he needs a raise. So please give him a raise. He is very knowledgeable and was a great help. He knew his stuff.

Update!!!! Buyer Beware. This use to be a a good place. It is rip off now. Parts prices on the website do not reflect the prices they charge when you present. The want to add warranty and fictitious parts you don't even have. I am outraged at this place. Wanting 80 dollars for a plastic fender well and a used headlamp. Absolute Rip Off. I talked with the manager and he just walked around the issue. LKQ of Durham You just lost a good customer and hopefully many more.

The prices are very high for junkyard parts. After all the fees, it’s about the same as just buying a new part online. They automatically put their 90 guarantee fee on the charge. I assume if you ask them not to they won’t, but just make sure you are aware because they will not inform you of it at the time of purchase. They have a good selection of cars. Today I used the 90 guarantee and the guy who checked me out originally forgot to mark the parts, two nice employees helped me out and made it right with me so I do appreciate that. Some days I have good experiences here and other days I have terrible ones. It depends on who’s working. I won’t be coming here often just because of how expensive it is. But it’s not the worst place if you need something quick.

Great experience. I have brought 2 cars here to rest. They can pick your car up and you come in to get your check. Not sure if they have a bathroom? No visible sign of coffee. I recommend a lot of people here. Particularly for headlight assemblies. They are the big game in the triangle.

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding my recent experience with LKQ's business practices. While I understand that every company operates differently, I believe it is crucial for businesses to maintain transparency and ethical conduct when it comes to their customers. I recently encountered an issue where I was charged what I consider to be excessive warranty fees without my consent. This experience left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. It's important for any company, including LKQ, to ensure that their customers are fully informed about any additional charges and that consent is obtained before applying them. I strongly believe that customer satisfaction should be a top priority for any reputable business, and such actions can lead to customer dissatisfaction and a loss of trust. I sincerely hope that LKQ takes this feedback seriously and takes steps to rectify these issues to prevent any further incidents. Furthermore, I wouldn't be surprised if such practices have led to legal actions in the past, as it's important to comply with all relevant laws and regulations governing business operations

Customer service is not right. I asked a guy how much a spare tire was and he replies $29. I go look for a tire and find one. Upon checking out the price ring up to $66 and the guy at the register was the same guy that told me it was $29 earlier. I said " $66?? hold up didn't u tell me earlier it was $29. What happened to make it go to $66"? A guy behind me said well this spare tire looks just as big as a regular tire. The guy at the register said " well it does say spare tire on it. He was referring to the factory engraved prints on the tire. Lol. The guy behind me walked away. I told them I cannot do $29 and kindly asked where do they want me to leave the tire he said right there is fine. Then I tried telling them that the tire says 185 and a regular mustang tire is 225 min thick but they wasn't even paying attention. They lack knowledge ain't no way a spare tire can handle bumps without bending, a spare tire rim can't handle 70mph on highway or whatever the speed is. With a spare tire u drive cautiously on the way to a shop because it can't handle weight, bumps, potholes like a regular tire. It's just used to put on to go to a tire shop to get the regular tire replaced/repaired. Crazy how they tried selling a spare tire as if it was a regular tire. The actual place was good tho. Had plenty of cars out there. Place 5/5 stars. Customer service 1/5 stars.

I've bought thousands of$ worth of parts at lkq. Generally ok, but prices have gone way up this last 6 months or year. Be very careful about buying an assembly like a rear end or steering. They will try to charge for every little part, including parts that are way too difficult to remove in the yard. No other salvage yards would do this! You can do much better at other places price wise. And you won't have to move a heavy item all the way across the yard and load it yourself!

Now this is what an automobile recycle salvage yard should look like. I’m driving the extra 30 miles to Durham to avoid the Clayton Raleigh LKQ Pick a Part. The spaces on every car are well marked. The yard is pretty dang clean. The staff are all friendly. They even ask which parts you’d like to buy a 90 day warranty on before just slapping the fee on there. Damon helped me at the checkout a few times. He’s a very gregarious young man. He knows a good bit about cars too. It’s refreshing to deal with folks that don’t hate their jobs. I’ll be back for a few items next week. Thanks y’all!

I always find the parts I need, when the dealer tells me that it is already discontinued

Their prices are the best. You can save yourself thousands in repairs by using this location. I went to get my car fixed. This one shop was charging me $1,200 to fix everything that was wrong with my car. I came here bout the parts for less than $140. I installed everything myself in less than 2 hours. Nobody can beat their prices. You can’t be lazy here. You have to be willing to take the parts out yourself and know how to install them. Their app is the best feature. You can search the type of car you have and they show you where they are row number and spot. It is amazing. I highly recommend. Best self-service salvage yard around Raleigh Area.
