The yard guys can only see so much but at the end of the day it’s on you to clarify what you have, 1,000lbs @ $0.01 vs $0.55 a lb makes a BIG difference.
Do not bring tinned copper here unless you want to be ripped off. Dropped off a good amount of tinned copper cable. They claimed it was aluminum because the outside of the conductor wasn’t copper colored even after learning it was tinned copper. Do not bring tinned copper here unless you want to get ripped off. The reason there is no answer ever on the phone is so you will not know how low mrs Whiteville nc is paying for scrap. Laughable . I will drive to California next time instead of coming to this rip.
Went there with maybe 150 lbs of aluminum and steel guy on little scale wouldn't weigh my stuff said go around to big scale twice . Will be taking my scrap elsewhere.
I am the Nonferrous Buyer in the Warehouse. We close the gate at 11 AM on Saturdays. If you are already in the gate you will be seen. We like to go home to our families too.
It was HOT outside. The portapotty stinks, if you can hold it do so. I feel like I'm making a life and death health decision when I opened the door. 😷 Other than that, pretty much what you'd expect. No one comes here for excitement.
I bring all my scrap here , always been treated with the up most respect , and the employees have helped me lift heavy items and also gave me a few pointers on how to clean certain metals that I bring in on a regular basis . All the employees are very nice and very helpful. I will continue to come to Metal recycling Services LLC in Whiteville to sell my scrap metals .
