Very confused reading the other reviews because I love this store. Store hours are clearly posted and great finds in clothing and housewares along with jewelry, handbags and shoes. Staff especially the manager are very nice.

I use to love this place but the prices have gotten wild. They are pricing things the price it would be brand new. For used items that were donated. Yes it takes work, time and energy to go through items but this is ridiculous. It's absurd to charge full price on donated items.

This thrift store has the potential to be great but is the most disorganized and rudely staffed. They have such random hours and the issue is you cannot confirm them because no one picks up the phone at any given moment. Twice now I have shown up to the store only to be told « we’re closing in 10 minutes » and when I mention that I tried calling several times to know their hours and the phone line doesn’t work I am met with sass. I don’t understand how you expect anyone who works day jobs to know when they can stop by and patronize the store if you don’t update hours on the website or have a functioning phone someone picks up.

Woah I thought the reviews were exaggerating but no the prices are insane. They were charging $750 for a raccoon coat lol. You can find so many for half price on Facebook. I get it’s for a good cause but this is unnecessary

A few years ago, I loved this place because they had affordable prices, but they're really going overboard with the prices. They're selling secondhand items as if they were new. I've seen comments that they're competing with market prices, but they need to do their research because their prices are much higher than what you'd find in a store for new items. If we buy secondhand, it's because sometimes we can't afford new things. That's why we go to a thrift store... Remember that all the products they sell there are donated by citizens to help the community. How is it possible that a simple cup costs $1.99 plus tax? When you can get all those kinds of dishes, cups, and plates at Dollar Three for $1.25, and they're brand new... It's outrageous! It doesn't justify them defending themselves by saying they have to pay employees, trucks, and everything else just because this store has been around for many years and in the past they didn't inflate prices like this.

please, PLEASE get more carts for shoppers. it's not fair or realistic to only have 5 carts or so? i came in at 10:30 in the morning and no cart was to be found, and it wasn't even that busy. not right.

This store has some great stuff! I found the Cuisinart coffee carafe I've been looking for !! Buy something, it's for a good cause.

Might as well buy new from stores. I saw brand items that literally charge less at the stores. Im so sick of thrift stores (who get things donated) and are supposed to be a place where poor people can shop price things according to the internet. I’ve run a mom and pop thrift shop before and the price to run a shop does not justify the outrageous prices here. What a scam. Especially when you do the research to see how much actually gets donated to charity…..*edit to respond* you guy have always donated to rehabilitation. You guys have always had employees and trucks that pick up items and rent to pay.that doesn’t explain the 500-1000% inflation of prices. This store is no longer for poor people. I wanted to reuse but at this pricepoint im better off buying new. Good luck staying in business. Literally the same people you are rehabilitating cannot afford to shop at your stores.

This Salvation Army has the most lovely employees, and a wonderful selection of items, and great and fair pricing. They always have new and hard to find things, and very unique items and furniture. They have a wide variety of clothing for all. But the employees are what makes this location even better always very helpful and polite,I just feel so sorry for the employees, especially when people just go in there to hang around and cause trouble. I highly recommend this location.

I mean seriously...how can they expect us to purchase clothes without being able to try them on... "sorry, bathrooms are for employees only" "no fitting rooms" and the best answer... You can try those pants on top of your pants...

I go to a lot of second hand shops, and I was genuinely shocked at how pricy this place is. I spend $7 on a flat sheet that had several holes in it. It was folded and stapled so I couldn’t see that until I got it home. This isn’t even close to a reasonable price for a single sheet, I just liked the design enough to pay that. And no, Salvation army, your pricing is not “competitive”. You’re taking advantage of the thrift craze right now at the expense of the community.

dropped off some donation, decided to take a look around, They have some really nice stuff and the place is huge. I ended up leaving with a few decorative items

A pleasant and fun experience whenever I visit this Salvation Army location. The manager and staff are always present and always available for my customer needs. I can say, it’s got to be the friendliest staff at this location in years. I notice others complaining of the place being disorderly and dirty. I strongly disagree, the problem is that some customers are sloppy and disrespectful of their surroundings, they trash the bookshelves, the clothing and items found on shelves. Shop and compare, you will find that this is one of the most popular locations for value, quality and a pleasant staff. Geo S.

Way over priced! Charging more than new for used furniture that’s often very damaged and worn. The workers just made up random prices! This was a waste of time. Response to SA response: Most items I inquired about did not have a price. The associate helping me had to go ask someone who never came and looked at the item but somehow had what seemed like a random price for everything. A very well worn dresser that had wood damage and missing handles was priced at $250. That is hardly “extremely competitive”. I remarked “whoa! that’s expensive… I can’t afford that.” The associate just shrugged their shoulders and walked away. No offer for assistance.

The workers were removing the color of the day clothing!. Also some items wete not marked and they made up their own prices. I wanted to by a scarf and the employee told me 29.99 which was outrageous and the item was NOT MARKED. The staff were racist!

If you’re going here based on the viral tiktok about the three story thrift store, just know that it’s large, but not necessarily the greatest selection. I spent 2 hours here and even as someone who loves thrifting I found very few things worth purchasing.

Huge selection of clothing, I've never seen so many items of men's clothing in 1 place. Many items were name brand, some designer, and most were in excellent condition. I was pleasantly surprised. The only downside is that the prices are a bit high for a thrift store and the housewares, kitchen appliances, sporting goods had little to nothing.

That place is Great! You wouldn't believe how many good deals I have gotten there. Mikasa plates,North face jackets, North face back pack for my kids, Designer shoes, Ugg boots, Samsung TV's, All-in -one Business printer$50($495 new). The manager Rachel and Sean who works there are very friendly and helpful. I go once a week and most of the time get a great deal. Looking forward to when they open again.

Easily the worst place I’ve ever been to. Workers extremely rude, the store was gross and dirty, and my friend who is a girl was yelled at for trying on a jacket that was on the men’s floor. Insane prices, not worth it. Save your time.

You want help by donating your unused stuff, than the store manager probably with unwelcoming attitude tells you she has no place to put you stuff you either leave your own plastic containers, than when you say ok than I'll take everything back out of nowhere empty containers emerge. By the end she cheat you with one container and telling you you got everything back. Not nice, don't go to this location, find an other.

The lady I'm assuming is the manager yelled at me upon entering the back door " Did you just walk through that door?!" she yelled at me in front of dozens of customers " the one that has a NO Entrance sign on it??" After I apologized she proceeded to glare at me and boss around her staff. She was very rude and has no manners. The staff then wouldn't let me exit out the donations door even though I was carrying a heavy item and I was parked out back. TERRIBLE SERVICE. I don't care if you're the Salvation Army or Google. Step it up.

STAY AWAY! We went to Salvation Army to shop for vintage clothes. I tried on a play suit which a woman proceeded to put in her cart the moment I set it down. I asked the woman to return it, and she denied having done so. At the register I saw her try to pay for the play suit she took from me. She became angry and irate when I brought it up and physically assaulted my friend after becoming irrational and screaming that we were racist. Management was useless and told us we couldn’t come back. We called the police and pressed charges- the police confirmed that it’s a bad store where dangerous people shop and that incidents like this happen at least once a week.

I like the store, but when they hired Leslie the manager they made a poor decision. She was very rude to customers. I'm so very glad that she was removed from the store. Please don't ever bring her back.

Always find the best stuff here. Wednesday’s are 50% mostly everything. Be prepared to spend 2 hours rummaging through rack and racks of clothing

Absolutely horrible experience . The MOD should be removed her customer service skills are none ! I found the most precious of dresses for an event this evening which was stained beyond repair but I was willing to make adjustments . When the associate asked about dress the manager didn’t even allow her nor I to get a word in . I will never return again , my daughter was heart broken .

I find the Salvation Army in Portchester one of the best places to buy. Leslie, the manager, takes pride in her job, satisfying customers and keeping her staff happy. She has a very difficult job and does it to the best of her ability.
