Although ShopRite of New Rochelle is 20 minutes away, it's my "go to" store. Great selection, good quality brands & great deals. Digital deals are the best. I drive past supermarkets 3 minutes from home to shop at this store.
Always has super friendly staff who are happy to help and we can usually find exactly what we’re looking for.
I also love the guy on the radio who announces deals and such, always makes me laugh.
Today I went to ShopRite in New Rochelle, N.Y state USAA. I purchased lemon juice, Lysol disinfectant, salt, behold furniture polish. I paid for my purchase at self service cash register. Before I purchased the pine sol , I had to check to see if it was sealed because last week I purchased Clorox ShopRite brand and it was not sealed and I did not recognize this until I got home. I did not throw it down the toilet,shower or sink or our side. I wrote on it possibly contaminated and put in a garbage bag and sealed it up and double bagged it and it went in the regular garbage and I told my husband and he threw it away. FDA policy is that over the counter medicine, vitamins and cleaning supplies have to be sealed and that’s federal law and state law. When I recognize that laws are being broken and I’m getting upset I know how to battle back . If something was in that bleach bottle and I used it and it was contaminated we would be sorry for not throwing it in the garbage and putting note on it of caution. I showed the customer service sales associate the bottle and I did NOT LEAVE THE STORE with it my husband was cashing out so I went to the cleaning supplies lane. Looked at another PINE SOL bottle and it was sealed; so I showed my receipt, showed her the bottle and it was a legal exchange. I told the customer sales associate that it is federal policy that it supposed to be sealed and this is endorsed by FDA and she said you have to go to corporate headquarters and I said that’s your job.
Everyone should know to check if the item your buying is sealed and don’t by it if it’s not because there are people who are not knowledgeable and do not have the native AMERICAN and I am NATIVE AMERICAN and nobody will go off on me and the younger generation will learn from the 1965 who were leaders of tomorrow and I am a responsible AMERICAN CITIZEN and SAXTON WOODS POOL had a breach of policy as well and I am a AMERICAN CITIZEN who protects, preserve and defends the constitution and I am not above the law but I follow the law and I battle and retain the quality standards that are below level and I do know I maintain it and I let this information out so others are aware that it is dangerous to use a cleaning supply that is not sealed. So now everyone knows what my reasoning is.
I do like ShopRite and they won’t lose me as a customer but they should look at me as a good friend and I told them well and they will understand this and they will know what to do and if they have to refuse the grocery supply then do that and then they will comply with federal and state law and keep up the quality control standard.
I lost $10 in a defective lottery machine and was told to come back tomorrow, without knowing if I have transportation or even if I live in the area. I was told I have an attitude for mentioning it. I told the employee that the machine is in your store, so you're responsible for its operation, but she blamed it on NY State. Customer service, which was closed, could have handled the issue. After a few moments, what appeared to be a shift manager opened the register, returned my $10, and told the associate that her actions were unnecessary, but they were not responsible for the machine's operation. Well, if you’re not going to be responsible for the lottery machines after customer service closes, then turn off the machines. You seem to remove all the bagels from the shelf at 9 pm, so why not also shut down the lotto machines, especially when you can't help people who lose money due to a defective machine, or perhaps they shouldn’t have a lottery at all? I’m sure NY State would be interested to know how their product is being mishandled and the poor customer service that accompanies it.
Love this store the only reason my review is not a 5 is because the customer service at the seafood counter was lacking and I waited for some time to be recognized and serviced. The lady seemed as if I was disturbing her.
Very crowded place and very odd employees, I get very eerie vibes from this place like something is calling out to me in a moan. Anyway, not to shabby. Came there for some KY Jelly left with Astroglide (May I add the self checkout employee made it a $2 cheaper for me if I promised to scream they’re name while I do what I do ) and a complimentary pack of Trojan thins (More of a Magnum Lad). But yeah, don’t think I’ll be stepping foot in there anytime soon.
THEY SELL EXPIRED FOOD! CHECK THE DATE ON YOUR PRODUCTS. This location sold me expired food on 2 separate occasions! There's something really wrong there. Please check the dates on all perishable items and canned goods before purchasing.
Just called up to ShopRite one thousand times to speak with a florist, finally get through and the girl got the worst attitude ever. Mind you it’s only 8am! So I’m asking about a small wedding bouquet she cuts me off to be like “WE DONT DO WEDDING BOUQETS!” Literally yelling it! Like okay damn girl you ain’t gotta curse me. I hung up the phone. Once the point of they’re not doing arrangements. They need to hire me, I can actually do floral design. They need some decorum chile.
So today I was greeted by MICE. I seen one run out of aisle 4, and I seen something that resembled protein powder spilling out of the bag onto the floor. The mouse jumped from the 2nd shelf onto the floor. I spoke to a worker about this and they said that the management is aware of the issue and that there are numerous mice running around the store. This store needs to be closed and fumigated until the problem is resolved.
There’s a Stop & Shop, not too far away, but I would never pay them a visit as long as this ShopRite is open. The deals are great, the parking is ample, and the service is good. The only problem I have would be the professionalism with certain employees.A few times already since I’ve been there the employees in the customer service area were loud and gathering around just gossiping. Loud enough for me to be in the checkout line and hear them as clear as day. Other than that, the places an excellent place to shop.
I ordered an instacart yesterday & to my surprise today, I went to make the breakfast sausage patties and they were Molded! This is highly unacceptable! I have pictures for proof. My family & I could have been terribly poisoned by this. It is the responsibility of Shoprite & their Meat Department to thoroughly inspect All items to insure freshness.
Awful pick up service, this time they are 3 hours late with my groceries and made me wait 50 minutes in my car waiting for the order. It’s awful and they NEED TO CLOSE THE SERVICE. It’s the fifth time !! SO ANNOYING
My experience at ShopRite was disappointing. While the store has a decent selection of groceries, I found the overall organization to be lacking. It was difficult to navigate the aisles, and I had trouble locating several items on my shopping list.
The produce section was underwhelming, with some fruits and vegetables looking less than fresh. I also noticed that the checkout lines were long, and the staff seemed overwhelmed and not as attentive as I’d hoped.
On a positive note, the prices were competitive, and I did manage to find some good deals. However, with the lack of cleanliness and organization, I’ll likely consider other grocery options in the future. ShopRite has potential, but it needs some improvements to enhance the shopping experience.
I like to supermarket, but the problem is they never have enough shopping carts at one point they had many now they don’t have none people were standing outside, waiting for shopping carts, including myself. I had to wait five minutes.
Ordered an 8 inch birthday cake for my daughter about 2 weeks prior & went with my husband Friday night to pick it up at the New Rochelle location. When we received the cake from the bakery & went to check out, I noticed an order confirmation paper attached to the top of the cake. It was labeled as 7inches, instead of 8 inches.
I lifted the paper only to find that the cake was not the size that I ordered. Being someone who bakes frequently, I am very familiar with identifying cake sizes. At best, this was just about a 5-6 inch cake with a 7 inch label, and charging me for an 8inch cake. I brought it to one of the staff members attention that was standing at self check out & they called over the Assistant store manager, Jim.
When i explained the issue to Jim & showed the cake & label attached, Jim immediately responded to me & my husband with an annoyed & discourteous response, "what do you want me to do? You don't want the cake?" I explained that the expectation was to recieve the size I specifically ordered & Jim said "I don't know what to tell you, your going to have to talk to the bakery dept, the most I can do is take $5 off". Although that was not ideally what we wanted, we agreed to the adjustment & Jim said he will return to make the adjustment.
We waited at the self check out line for over 20 minutes, only to see that Jim was stacking toothpaste on the shelves & acting as if we didn't exist standing there. This was extremly upsetting at the simple fact that there was no respect, common decency, remorse or apology given for the mistake made & then to be treated as if we are being ignored. Jim never returned to address us after this & sent someone else to make the adjustment after we complained to another associate of having to wait so long to now witness Jim stacking the aisle. At this point, his disrespectful behavior & complete disregard of our concerns was so upsetting that we walked out & left the cake amongst other grocery items we intended to purchase.
I frequently visit this location & have never experienced this type of behavior from any associate. For him to be a representation of the Shoprite brand in such a way as the "assistant store manager" is shockingly disappointing & very concerning.
ShopRite as a supermarket is great, however I won’t be using the bakery again.
Ordered a cake over a month ago and was very disappointed at pick up.
The cake was suppose to have a theme from their display book with specific instructions on where to put the “happy birthday”, none of the instructions were followed. It looked like someone just printed a 5x7 photo and pasted on 10 inch cake.
I spoke to the “manager” in the bakery and he told me the baker is on break and “[he] can’t help me” so I found the store manager who took my info and the cake back.
Upon checking on the “new” cake, not much changed.
It seems the baker who took my order wasn’t the one who decorated the cake so there was inconsistency from the beginning.
I had to opt to get a plain cake elsewhere and a cake topper.
Greta experience here today. I’m from Staten Island, but in the area for a clinic, and I must say that i was very impressed. Very clean place, not dingy like the location where I’m from. To top it off my cashier Gloria was extremely nice and very welcoming. Employees like her make a huge difference when I’m deciding where to do business. Ten stars for her
I love ShopRite and this one does not disappoint. It's huge, with wide aisles & they have a terrific variety. They even have exclusive areas like a Go Nuts section with a wide assortment of nuts and dried fruits as well as a floral & balloon area. Of course also general supermarket areas. Bakery wide assortment, Deli, Meats etc. This is a one-stop shop for me, which I love.
Very clean and orderly. The manger and employees were always helpful. The meat department spotless. Bakery galore. And to boot a Customer Service area for returns and more. Loved it.
Firstly, I hope this experience never happens again! I usually have nothing bad to say about this particular location, but as you can see this day it was absolutely repulsive in the meat section. I couldn't believe my eyes. I took a few pics and I was out of there. I didn't want anything from the meat section, deli, or anything else they could have packed. It seemed like they were restocking and short staffed but I don't think there's a valid enough excuse to leave that meat section like that. I feel sick just writing about it. Please do better, be better, and quickly address it.
