My husband went to get his car fixed here and we have been having problems with the car since we went in for a check engine light they said we needed new brakes mind you our brakes were not squeaking or anything charged him 1400 for that and never fixed the initial issue which was the check engine light. The light kept coming on and off and our tire sensors because they messed up one of our tire sensors as well. On top of that the receptionist said my husband never paid her when he brung her the money and he has receipts of the day he took the money out and went he has the exact time and date and told her to check the cameras we will NEVER go here again please beware a friend of ours said they messed up his car as well we should have never went here! Please don’t go here BEWARE!
My car was having a starting issue before a holiday weekend, and my normal mechanic was unfortunately not around. I left my car for this business to take care of based on a recommendation...
Unfortunately was heavily disappointed as I was told I needed a new alternator because it was overcharging my battery. I go to pick up the car, it was empty of gas to the point it wouldn't start,even though i left it with a full tank, a clip that holds the hood arm was broken... this all left me uneasy so I took it to my mechanic to have it checked. found out I didn't need the alternator, the battery issue was due to a short draining the battery, so that was 1200 I didn't need to spend. to make matters worse, the day after I get the car back the check engine light pops on and off, so I bring it to my mechanic again to find out that whoever installed the alternator didn't put the harnesses back together again correctly and broke a sensor for the car.
Although i hope this was all an outlier My experience with this mechanic left a really bad impression that I would feel too remiss not to say something.
I will also add a side note that the owner called me trying to explain away some of the matters but doesn't change my overall experience
My car cracked 75k miles and needed a general inspection + an inspection on belts/chains and fuel injectors which i was suspected was causing some sluggish acceleration. All the other shops in the area were either closed or slammed but Rob took me same day, and within hours had the car serviced. Car runs smoother now, service was outstanding and Rob is a knowledgeable, stand-up owner/mechanic. Honest mechanic makes all the difference, and with Robs Auto, that's what you'll get. 5 stars ⭐️

The 1 star rating is absolutely deserved. but I'll give them 2 stars in case 1 stars isn't getting counted somehow.
I got a simple flat in my rear tire. They quoted $15 to fix it.
when I went to pay, she said $50, because they had to take the tire off. LOL wow. disgusting. any place in NYC would take your tire off and fix a flat for fixed $15. Obviously scamming their customers. Imagine trying to fix anything more serious in there if they are willing to scam you over a flat tire?
Rob’s son Andrew is a scammer. He scammed myself and multiple people on Discord out of product. I contacted Robert, the owner and he never got back to me about this issue. Likely because he doesn’t have a viable answering or receptionist service. So he is losing business on Potential New Clients as a result. 0/10. Do not recommend
Good experience, I have been here a couple of times now over the years just to get my NYS inspection done. They were always able to take care of me right away. The tech removed the old sticker and completely cleaned the glass before applying the new one. I really appreciated that small touch (most other places don't do that for the 10 bucks).
Can't speak for other services but the staff's professional attitude gave me a good impression.
Horrible mechanic, never returns my calls. Just brought my Honda to the dealer found out pins are missing. Always uses aftermarket parts even when told to use genuine Honda parts. Mechanic used aftermarket ball joint and it stretched the knuckle. So basically car is unsafe to drive and needs more than $1000 worth of work. I would never recommend this mechanic. Stay away!
Every time I go there, I’m reminded why I keep going back. Whole staff is great and I’ve had nothing but exceptional service there. Definitely the mechanic I trust most in the area.
I was supposed to come at 9AM for replacement of headlight bulbs but they say the electrician hasn’t come yet to take care of my work. So I had to wait until 12:30PM. The guy with the glasses doesn’t know his work, always seeks help from the nearby guy, please don’t visit this place, I just wasted my morning schedule because of this place!
Appointments are not worth it!!!
Was recommended by Larry at mk tire. Just had two tires replaced and major AC work. All is good. Emmy is very helpful and professional. This is my new auto shop. I highly recommend Rob"s auto.
Rob helped us out during the worst of times when we moved to corrupt NYS. We bought a car and were trying to figure out the DMV sytem here, we are from the equally corrupt West Coast, and our car was ticketed in the DMV lot in Yonkers, then when we entered the car we were surrounded by Yonkers Cops and the car was towed to impound. 24hrs and no report written had to chase down the Precinct and then get ticket and paperwork signed and $250 at the impond cash only. Rob helped us get the car inspected, passed, repaired and helped us square away the DMV problems. 5 years later we still bring all our cars there.
Great place to get gas- that’s it.
Oil change cost $110, about twice what it should. And my car STINKS like cigarette smoke. Don’t get your car serviced there.
Rob seemed like a quality mechanic. He replaced the batteries in my Ford Mini Bus and got me back on the road. I month later I got stopped for gas and the truck wouldn't start. it turns out they never tightened the battery trays and they were hanging from the bottom of the truck. They also just stuck the main chassis ground in the battery terminal. I called three times to talk to Rob to see if he could make good on the poor workmanship. He never returned my call. This is not a quality service center.
Battery died a few blocks away so I called Rob's Auto hoping for the best. A few minutes later Rob himself pulled up, jumped my car, I followed him to his shop, he did a very thorough job and he charged me fairly. What could have been a nightmare turned out to be a pleasant experience. Rob is very professional and knowledgeable. I want to thank him for taking care of me so quickly today, Every larchmont/Mamaroneck resident should be using this place. Paul
I would always recommend Robs services to anybody , Rob is trustworthy, caring and understanding, His workers are all great, no job is ever to much for them to do, My mother has been bringing her car there for years now, I have never had any problems, Rob always goes out of his way and both my mother and I appreciate all that he does, If you ever need further services on your vehicle that they do not do , Rob will go out of his way to send you to the right source.
I knew my car had something wrong with it but could not figure out what. It was something so simple and only cost me a few bucks. Rob was honest enough to tell me the truth about it and send me on my way. I was so releived and want to say how much I appreciate his honesty

I want to preface this review by saying that I am new to the area and know almost nobody. I went to Rob's Auto Care out of curiosity. I needed to rent a Uhaul to move furniture and saw a few parked in the front of the building as I was driving by. Unfortunately, they did not have the size I needed. I had a good feeling about Rob's while I was there. It felt like a community establishment and Rob seemed like a nice and understanding guy, a quality which is rare in most mechanics. I had a cracked muffler and was making a terrible noise and I figured I would give these guys a shot to get it repaired. It turned out the pipe was rotted and a sealing disk had worn out and Rob and his team showed me all of this before they began any work. The repair was prompt and completed in the same day. The cost was very close to the estimate and Rob was willing to work with me on the price to get it closer to his previous estimate. I am very happy I decided to take a chance and go with Rob's instead of some faceless corporate repair shop.
Rob and the team are simply the best. I started using them just for gas and really liked the feeling of the place. When my car needed work I didn't hesitate to take it to them and they did a first class job.
Rob will always go that extra mile to make a customer happy which is hard to find with so many bandits out there.
Told that we needed new brake pads on a low mileage vehicle. Dealer said that there was plenty left on them (a dealer, mind you!). If you are unsure of their diagnosis (especially if you are of the female persuasion) get a second opinion!
