My mom and I have been to this place years ago and that this a supermarket that sell most almost everything. The people there are nice, friendly and kind. There were many people there looking for things to buy and sometimes there are sales. The shelves were stocked with foods, and others.
Love the guy who restocks the carts, he’s a real one. Also shout out to cashier ringo, he’s great. They need to stop rearranging the groceries though.
My father in law refuses to come back here. If you can’t park in the death loop, leave.
They need to lower the prices of Bell & Evan’s chicken also.
One of the few grocery stores in NYC that doesn’t make you feel as packed in as the items. We discovered this store during the pandemic because it was the only store that was following the social distancing rules and even had special hours for the elderly. I continue to shop here frequently for daily staples. The international section could offer more, but this is Queens. You can find those sundries anywhere else. My personal favorites here are the olive bar, bakery, produce, and meat products. The dairy is also impressive. Did I mention there’s ample parking?
The stores at this Foresthills location sit within a huge multi level parking lot as opposed to open space parking. Navigating is tight and annoying. Great variety of produce but the over all prices are a bit higher than other stores.
Very good local supermarket in forest hills area. Very good selection & prices and has almost every household item one may need. Good hours...opened til midnite. Plenty of free parking but directional layout of lower parking can be much better! Very friendly & helpful personnel.
Deli staff should either be retrained or fired! I waited more than 15 minutes to finally get my (wrong order-the guy was so pissed off at me that he only cut off 1/2 lb of bologna instead of 1 lb that I asked. I get a feeling he was too lazy...lost the store some $) order cut. There was one guy helping a customer, while other staff was looking "busy", and one guy pretending to clean up- at 7 pm, way before closing time. After the customer was finally helped ( multiple items), the clerk that helped said he's going home as his shift is over. I had to wait another 5 minutes as the clerk that was cleaning took his sweet time to finish his sink shining and reluctantly cut my order. I was too tired after a long day of work to start asking for the manager. I will never buy anything from the deli and tell all my friends and neighbors to bring their hard earned money somewhere else.
Customers be aware…you MUST look at ur receipt after purchasing. Many coupon tags that are expired in august are still on the items and its September, which means you will leave the store and be charged the original price without knowing. Many Items that have a sale tag on an item are not updated in their system, therefore it will scan as the original price. Laziness or carelessness ..or both
It's Hit or miss at this location. BUT they definitely use tactics that are unethical..Always sale prices not with correct items. Seen several special displays or containers with items that aren't part of sale .Why put a special section for sale items if you just put regular market items in it .That's bait and switch. Customer appreciation should be the goal .
Going to this shop is like going back in time 20 years. Big shop and not congested at all. You can shop in peace. The staff ( and obviously the management) is super courteous. I hope they will maintain the ambiance.
This store is spacious and probably one of the biggest stores in New York which is why I enjoy this location more than others. However, despite its spaciousness, I gave one star because I tried to redeem a digital gift card and the customer service associate was unfamiliar, unhelpful and didn't believe that Stop and Shop accepted digital gift cards. I wonder if I turned back time to 1990, or if perhaps a CUSTOMER SERVICE associate lives in 1975 where anything digital is basically non existent. It was embarrassing, sad and ridiculous. She had to ask another cashier if it was possible to redeem my gift card. She didn't even check to see how it works. Highly unprofessional, lazy and unfit to be working at any retail customer service. Perhaps she assume I made up the gift card. Shame on Stop and Shop in not hiring high quality employees.
First the staff are kind and helpful I feel as a young senior of 79?I moved but I find I have to come back to the cleanliness and staff
I wish other stores would pattern themself of their professionalism of this establishment

Just left from my weekly shop and am super pissed off the management really need to supervise or re train those young men that work the deli. I stood there over 5 minutes waiting for them to acknowledge me 1 guy with glasses was cutting a massive order of cold cuts in front of me the other guy was on the side ignoring me also cutting tons of ham & the 3rd guy was walking back n forth to the back with empty trays I had to loudly say umm excuse me am I invisible I'd like some cold cuts I was still ignored another 3 or so minutes until I started telling my husband to go get the manager the the guy cutting the big order told the other guy to stop cutting the ham n wait on me btw I had to repeating myself to him what I wanted I guess he was either hard of hearing or just doesn't care to pay attention & there were 5 people already waiting in line to order behind me I took my order n told them good luck your going to be here awhile. Wish that nice efficient older lady who worked the deli last year was still there she was courteous efficient and a nice person these younger men in the deli have no customer service abilities. I'll no longer be purchasing my cold cuts in this store.
Decent stop and shop. Traffic at the parking lot can be messy sometimes. Not so very accessible if you take public transportation or walk to it. I had some issues with the meats before but customer service was great. Very busy on the weekends. Great time to shop is weekdays as most items are on sale.
It's gone downhill.
Half the time the produce looks rotten or is understocked. The other half of the time there's no meat. What the hell is going on? About two months ago there was an obvious corporate visit because the produce never looked better and the store had actual meat. Now that there's no looming visit its a sheet show. What's happening management?
I used to work at a market so I know "store looks nice for vp visit" when I see it. Get it together
Concern Regarding Rotisserie Chicken Availability and Customer Service. I am writing to bring to your attention a recurring issue (02/08/2025) at your Glendale location (8989 Union Turnpike, Glendale, NY 11385) that has been causing significant inconvenience to customers, including myself.
While the store opens to the public at 6:00 AM, rotisserie chickens are consistently unavailable until 3:00–4:00 PM. This is a stark departure from industry standards, as most supermarkets typically have rotisserie chickens ready by 8:00–9:00 AM. What makes this situation particularly disappointing is that this was not an issue 5–6 months ago, when your store reliably had rotisserie chickens available by 9:00–10:00 AM. The current delay not only disrupts the shopping experience but also diminishes the convenience that many of us have come to expect from your store.
Additionally, I feel compelled to mention the concerning behavior of some employees when customers inquire about the delay. On multiple occasions, I have witnessed and experienced responses that were rude and dismissive, which is both unprofessional and unacceptable. This type of customer service tarnishes the otherwise positive reputation of Stop & Shop and leaves a lasting negative impression.
I kindly urge you to address these issues promptly. Specifically, I recommend ensuring that rotisserie chickens are prepared and available earlier in the day, as they once were, and providing additional training or guidance to staff to improve their interactions with customers.

Arriving at the store, it was a bit confusing as they were doing construction. As this was our first time, it was annoying trying to figure out where to go. Once we got in, the store was clean and mostly stocked. There were a lot of vegetables sold out, but we were able to find what we were looking for. The store was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable and cheaper than some other grocery store. We will likely return for our larger shopping days.
This Stop and Shop is consistent with availability of food items and fresh produce. The seafood department is very good thanks to the manager Nancy and her staff. Nancy is very friendly, knowledgeable and professional of all the fish items. The location is convenient, despite the lengthy construction of the general property. It's easier to park on the upper level.
They sell expired items. Some almost a year past expiration. They’re alerted to expired items and won’t remove them off the shelf. Instead they put “special” yellow stickers on them. They’ve raised prices significantly only to lower quality and sell expired food.
They have recently added a robot that identifies spills by strolling around. The store is underground and you lose phone coverage while inside. The parking lot is crowded and it gets hard to move around. The organic produce is expensive and they run out of many items almost every time I go there.
Love them for their bakery. The best fresh breads, yummy donuts, cakes, and the best place to get cupcakes for any event or class birthday, plus their birthdays cakes are also the best & all in the best prices that you can get!!!!
