T&W Auto is my FOREVER MECHANIC.
My engine died in my WRX. I was heavily invested in the car so I was prepared for a big expense. I did A LOT of research on where to bring it. T&W Auto stood out significantly because of their google reviews. I gave them a call, set up a drop off time, and towed it to the shop. Within an hour or so, I get a call from Warren and the bad news. He told me the issue. I quickly call my family friend mechanic and relayed Warrens diagnosis of my engine. The family friend agreed in full. I call T&W Auto back and ask what are my options. Warren quickly tells me that they can get a junkyard replacement engine with low milage and install it for a variety of price points. I’m hesitant, but learn through Warren that if a car is totaled from the rear, the engine can be 100% ok to use. He walked me through their process and answered every question, especially how they vet the junkyard engines, examine the pictures, ask the owners of the yard questions, etc. Plus, Warren has done this A LOT and has significant experience with it. Warrens honesty made an impact on me. It felt good in my gut, TRUST YOUR GUT. I’m sold. Warren and team order me a used engine from the west coast. They receive it. Warren calls me and says, I don’t like this engine, it was not in the condition advertised. I’m blown away by the HONESTY. He asks if I have time to wait for something better. I do, and say wait. He sends it back, and 2 weeks later we get a much better engine that Warren approves of. They install it and all the nuances needed, hoses, turbo charger cleaning, etc. I pick it up, Warren gives me the break-in instructions and says enjoy. My car, my baby, is alive again, and PERFORMS BETTER!
They could have installed that crappy engine and I would never know. This is why T&W Auto is my forever mechanic.
Since then, I have had numerous other repair jobs completed perfectly through T&W Auto, and I’m HAPPY to give them my money for QUALITY and HONEST work. I drive an hour just to go to them LOL! Even though they specialize in Subaru’s, I will be bringing my NON-Subaru cars to T&W Auto, because I TRUST them. They are my first call, first recommendation to friends and family for car stuff. I introduced my mom to them!

I can’t say enough good things about Tim and Warren at T&W Auto. They took my Subaru WRX and did a complete STI conversion, along with upgrades to the wheel well hubs, fuel system, brake system, and much more. They poured their blood, sweat, and tears into this build, and it truly shows — the quality and craftsmanship are absolutely top-notch. Thanks to their hard work, my car is now making 600 horsepower, and it runs like an absolute dream.
The final result blew my expectations out of the water. I will be recommending T&W Auto to all my friends, family, and anyone else in the community. Its hard to find a good, trustworthy mechanic shop, but i finally found it. This place is awesome. Everyone I have talked too has been extremely friendly and helpful. I came to get a carbon cleaning and coolant flush/hose replacement. After checking it out they said the car didnt need the carbon cleaning and saved me $600. I love the honesty. If you need a reliable trustworthy shop, this is the place to go!
They have excellent knowledge about the body shop. They fixed my 2023 Suburban very well in a short time. These guys are trained from the cradle.
I found this shop through my friend. It's really hard to find a good and trustworthy shop in the five boroughs. One of the most untrustworthy and slippery businesses is the body shop. I absolutely highly recommend.

My background: Former small business owner. I also know a little about car repair/maintenance but I can only work on the old stuff (80s) and do oil changes and brakes on the new stuff like my car (2015 Forester XT). With two kids, work, etc--I don't have time to do most of this stuff. If I have the time, I don't have the will.
Got tired of going to the dealer. Local mechanic is good, but misdiagnosed an issue once that was kinda basic, so I became a little leery this time last year of continuing to use them.
Spent a weekend+ googling and reading Subaru-specific forums, and found these guys. They came with high recommendations. So I went down there.
Good bunch of guys and girl(s) that own/run that place. I've watched what they do, and I've seen how they treat every customer when I've been there. Pricing is really fair, and they're honest. Honesty goes a long way with me. I don't live around the corner, and it's a little bit of a pain for me to get there via public transportation when I need to pickup my car, but I'm working on that. It's worth it tho, because I know these guys do things the right way.
They will work on virtually anything, but if you're a guy (or girl) with a WRX or STi and you're looking for a place to do upgrades and god knows what else, this is your place. If you're like me and have the WRX just in the Dad version (Forester) it's a wonderful place to take it to know that it's being treated right.
They seem to do performance upgrades and routine maintenance all vehicles, but specialize in Subarus.
I recently had my 2015 Forester XT here for some deferred maintenance; Spark plugs and a carbon clean/walnut blasting. I kid you not, my car now runs like the day I drove it off the lot 8+ years ago. Dramatic, dramatic difference.
I plan my car maintenance now around my days off from work and T&W's availability. It's the only place I now go.

They were recommended by a good friend and I'm so glad that i followed up and scheduled an appointment.
I live in New Jersey and wanted a good shop with good people to tune my car, sure there are more 'popular' shops in NJ that can do this work, but I didn't mind making the drive, 1.5hr away, so that I could deal with level headed, no attitude, professionals. These guys are honest.
Let me say that again for those in the back: THESE GUYS ARE HONEST.
If you drive a Subaru, of any make, this is the shop you want to have your work done at. From scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting issues, modification work, tuning (for those modifications) and I'm probably missing services.
I originally reached out via their Instagram account and ended up scheduling an appointment with them for a Dyno session.
After arriving at their shop, they inspected the vehicle, set up a base tune, and we went to the dyno. Tim worked his magic to get me some additional horsepower, but due to a technical issue, couldn't get me where I was hoping to get. I appreciated the additional time and effort they spent on trying to get me the numbers, and will continue to work with them via e-tuning.
Overall, I'm very happy to have made the trip to have T&W Automotive work on my car and i wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for all your Subaru needs.
These guys are the most honest mechanics I've ever met. They don't beat around the bush or try to scheme... they do their job and then some. If you're looking for honest mechanics, look no further. Their prices are extremely reasonable as well.
This has got to be by far the best shop on the island. Whether you're looking to have general work done on your car. Or to make your car an absolute monster, that's reliable of course, these are the guys. The quality of work these guys do is unmatched. Combine that with their years of experience and the extremely fair prices they charge. You're not going to find a better shop. Or a better group of guys to work on your car. They have taken such great care of my 2005 Outback, my only regret is that I didn't come to them sooner. I could've saved so much money and stress by coming to the real professionals. Dealerships and a local garage couldn't agree on how to diagnose my problem, a 25 minute drive to T&W solved it and saved me $$$!!
I've never trusted a mechanic with my car for any reason, but when the time came that I needed to, the guys at T&W Auto really went above and beyond any of my expectations. If youre looking for someone to take real good care of your Subaru (or any other car for that matter) as if it were their own, this is the place to take it. Tim and Warren provided me with the best service I've experienced ever at a shop. They went out of their way to find the main root of my problem (which I will mention after ) and covered every single base, AND as a courtesy checked out the rest of the vehicle to see if everything else was in order. These guys really know their stuff, especially when it comes to Subies. In addition to their great service, they were very reasonable with working with my budget while getting the job done right. They were willing to answer any questions I had, including giving me suggestions on what future parts were worth it and which werent, and were completely transparent. Tim, Warren, and Christina have really opened my eyes to what a great/reliable shop looks like and they have earned themselves a customer for life. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! In the 6 years that I've owned my car, I've never felt it idle as smooth, pull as strong, and overall feel as good as it does. Problem:
Vehicle was idling very rough and had intermittent power loss issues and sporadically stalling. Most times when I would pull of from 1st gear and come to a stop, the car would stall. I would have to keep the RPM's high in order for it not to stall. Amidst all these issues, there was NO check engine lights and NO engince codes when I checked. I then performed a Vacuum/Smoke test and no vacuum leaks were present (confirmed later by Tim). After exhausting every avenue myself, It was time I sought out some professional help. It's hard to find a reliable shop for Subies but I had known about Larsen/T&W Auto for a while now and that they specialized in Subaries. Decided to reach out to them, tell them my proble, and ultimately test my luck by taking the car to them and Im very happy that I did.
At T&W:
I hauled the vehicle in and by the time I got their, they already had the garage bay available for me. Tim took my car in and immediately began working on it. He wasted no time in trying to troubleshoot and diagnose the car based on all of the problems I had mentioned I was experiencing. He performed the usual OBDII reading, checked for codes , and also performed his own Smoke test all of which confirmed what I had done. He then proceeded to do his work and methodically find the root cause failure.
Upon a couple of hours (or less) Tim and with the help of Warren worked together to find the failure which came down to bad injectors, plugs, and coil packs, caused by perhaps a bad tune. The previous tuner had turned off the CEL's corresponding to these failures therefore it was undetectable by OBDII readers. I decided to proceed and order the parts. Waiting for the parts to arrive was the longest part of this whole process, otherwise I'm sure Tim wouldve had my car in and out within a day.
They recommened the best parts for the repairs AND the best part is that they do their own IN-House TUNING!, so I was able to get everything done there!! They completed the repairs and then Tim performed some road-tuning and addressed any popup issues there was before handing me back the keys. Overall extremely satisfied with their work and look forward to going in for my 100K mile service.
Got my 17 WRX worked on here. Great guys, very knowledgeable and willing to talk and explain things with you. Got a Tune that was beyond expectations and the effort they put into their work is above and beyond. Definitely recommend this place to not only Subaru Owners but anyone needing automotive work done!
Brought our 2011 Outback in for some repairs. The guys at Larsen Autoworks are fantastic. Very knowledgeable mechanics, they took their time to talk to me about our Subaru that has almost 160,000 on it. They were very thorough, went through the car and let me know what it might need in the future to keep it on the road. Repair was done quickly and it drives like it should again. I will not hesitate to bring any Subaru we own back to them for repairs or maintenance. Great job guys! Keep up the good work!
Outstanding shop. These guys know all the ins and outs of Subarus and aftermarket parts. Drive 40miles to have some work done here and it was worth every min. Very friendly atmosphere and everyone was willing to teach as they went along. 10/10 would recommend and will visit again!
Lance and the guys at Larsen know the ins and outs of subarus and go out of their way to give good service and a good experience. Prices are very fair and the guys are up front about what your car needs. Warren was super helpful. I wont bring my subi anywhere else.
100% recommend this shop. Got my WRX about a month ago and so far had the shop replace my valve cover gaskets, timing belt, water pump & upgrade to the killer B oil pickup with baffle and they were so helpful, they even recommended what brands to get and what brands to stay away from in terms of parts. These are very trustworthy people who also do the job pretty quickly 👍🏾.
Wow Larsens Autoworks is the most amazing place especially if you have a Subaru. I had the need for a new engine on my WRX and they replaced it with the most professional care. When the new engine was no good they replaced the second one. All the time there were questions they tried and tried everything to help. Lance and his Dad have helped us and we will keep bringing them business and sending them more.
I’m so lucky Lance and the boys were highly recommended to me. From a transfer case job to checking my fluids as a walk in, these guys are so honest and willing to help. It’s refreshing to have mechanics who genuinely love to work on cars who are also honest. Lance is a super respectable guy!! I’ve brought my Subaru to him on several occasions and he’s always been reasonable with the prices, and I feel he’s been very honest with me about what needs to be done. I’ve recommended him to anyone, especially Subaru owners.

Larsen is a great shop, they're quick and professional. Repair costs are fair and comparable or better than other shops I've been to locally. This is the place to go, especially if you have a Subaru.
Came to the shop for a look over on my 04 STI. I recently bought the car and had another shop look it over they told me everything was good to go... I knew it couldn't be that easy. After 15min of looking the car over Larsen Autoworks found multiple matenience issues that needed to be taken care of. These guys are honest, real, and know their stuff. I highly recommend this shop.
