Had an a few issues with my low miles brand new car they fell out of warranty . The guys at automotive suggested for the main issue to try the dealership to deal with it, gave me some advice on how to do it. Instead of just pushing to do the work themselves. It ended up working out. Good guys fair prices too.
Been taking my car here for years. They are super helpful, I can always get in touch with someone there. They take time to explain any issues with the car and what they’re doing to fix it. Great place and even better service.
I have been going to automotive technology of west Islip for a few years for inspections and oil changes and it is always a good experience. I am in and out in about 45 minutes Awesome job.

Last week I brought my car in for just an Inspection. Quick, easy- I wasn’t there for more than 30 minutes.
When I got into my car it REEKED of cigarette smoke as though someone had been smoking in it all day. It could not have been just from someone’s body that smokes. I rode to the store with the windows down. After shopping, aprox 45 minutes, my car still Reeked of Cigarettes. Disgusting. I drove home in the 15 degree weather with the windows down.
That night my friend borrowed my car, came back and asked ,” Was someone smoking in your car? “. This was almost 8 hours later!!
Like I said, I have never had a problem, but this was NAUSEATING. Especially when cigarette smoke disgusts you and someone does it in YOUR vehicle. This is why I am giving a “3”. Hopefully this will flag, and you can say something to your smoking crew.
Again, must have been actually smoking in my car during the 30 minute inspection, doors and windows shut for it to smell that bad for that long. I can’t be the only one that has had this happen to them?
My car died on my way from my home going to West Islip for Christmas at my daughters. Luckily it happened 9 miles from her house. I knew the used Automotive Technology so I had it towed there. Gregg looked at it the next business day and had it completed that afternoon putting in a new alternator and battery. He explained everything in depth and couldn’t have been nicer. I highly recommend them and thank them.

Iwas stranded on the side of the road. I called automotive tech and Gregg answered the phone. Gregg assured me everything was going to be okay. He called Higbie tow to come and get me. They really helped us out. Took in my car first thing on a Monday morning with a possible transmission problem and it was fixed and back with me by the end of the day. They did good work!

After seeing all the positive reviews, I decided to give them a shot. My car had minor front end noise and needed an alignment. The guys at the front desk were very nice; when I dropped the car off, they informed me of a $100 diagnostic fee. Although I'd never been to a shop that had one, (normally it gets rolled into the bill) I was completely fine with it. Later that day, I got a call from Greg, who was very nice and gave me, what I believed to be a fair evaluation. When he gave me the price though, I was in shock. I've worked on my cars/trucks in the past and have more than enough knowledge to know, the estimate he gave, was at least double what it should have been. I Have no problem paying a premium for quality work, but this was way out of line..I'm sure they do good work, but I had no choice but to politely decline. I got an automated message a few days later asking me to leave a review; it's probably not what they wanted to hear, but it's the truth. Nice people, nice office, good communication, pricing was outrageous.

I had gone to the dealership first and was upcharged for the same service—and they didn’t even offer a warranty. I’m a critical backyard auto mechanic. Had an issue with my truck that was beyond my ability. Down the street was a super clean, privately owned auto shop. I decided to give the place a try instead of a dealership. From the minute I walked in and met Greg and Antonio, I was comfortable. Where dealerships talk down and overwhelm you, these guys were pleasant and talked to you about your problem and how they were going to handle it. They kept me informed about progress and completion time. When done they explained the entire job. I couldn’t be happier until I was told that their work also included a three year, thirty-six mile warranty. To me, that shows trust in their work. I walked out happy to have my truck fixed and I was also happy I found a great auto repair shop that I would recommend to anyone. Check them out if you need work on your vehicle. Work was fine. Very expensive. They do not use factory parts. Charge a half hour 95$ diagnostic fee even if you get the work done by them.most places wave that if they are going to do the work. My first time and due to prices being as high as dealership it just makes more sence to take it directly to the dealer. There are other good mechanics that offer better prices. The work was good though. It's just to expensive. I give honest reviews for my own experience. This place is just a 3 star place. Good work high price.
Greg , Antonio consistently deliver honest estimates , followed by an actual repaired vehicle which is not always the case with shops. They are respectful and helpful in their treatment of their customers. Recently moved into the area and was concerned and uneasy about trying new shops. Most of my past experiences are negative. Those concerned are gone since finding Automotive Tech.
After going to different shops and feeling like the were skipping some basic maintenance (like a tire rotation, checking fluids, and tire pressure), I went looking for a new shop to bring my company car to for service. I travel a lot for work and need to feel safe on the road. I knew after the first visit that this place would be different. I don't normally leave reviews and need to go to somewhere several times to get a feel for a place. I look for integrity and honesty in mechanics working on my car because of how much time I spend driving it. Greg and Antonio have been wonderful - friendly and upfront about service needing to be done. Ultimately the repairs need approval from my fleet company, but they let me know what servicing my car will need in the future. I'm one of those annoying customers, always asking questions, but they have been patient and very accommodating. I appreciate that. Thank you both, and your guys, for keeping me safe in my travels!
