Great experience at the lake grove location Thomas at desk has great Customer Service and is very knowledgeable. And the other staff they are very good too. The technicians at Pep Boys are great I have been going there for years I never had a complaint with this store. I recommend it highly. they have great sales on tires and coupons for brakes and other things. I wouldn’t go anywhere else

Phenomenal! The service was great and super fast! Mo was amazing and explained everything thoroughly to me. I got my tires and breaks done and the mechanics did a great job. The lobby area was beautiful and cleaned they really updated the place. I will always be coming here for my services.

Came for an oil change and was told, they were too backed up to take me. Decided to call the location in Port Jeff and advised I was 15 minutes away. I asked about the wait time and was told no wait time and to come. Show up and was told it would be an hour wait because now someone is getting 4 tires. Convenient. Went to jiffy lube and was in and out in 10 minutes. Save yourself the aggravation. I get things happen, but damn.

Pep boys in Lake Grove is always a great experience! From customer service to quality of the work I would highly recommended taking your car here. Plus the coffee. 10/10

I had a 4:30 PM appointment for a wheel alignment and did not leave until almost 7:30 PM. Unfortunately, there was no communication during the wait. I had to go up to the desk myself to ask why it was taking so long. I was later told that some parts were frozen and needed to be lubricated, which caused the delay. While I understand that unexpected issues can happen, better customer service would have been keeping me informed along the way. If someone had explained the situation earlier, I would have been able to make arrangements to leave the vehicle instead of waiting without updates. Other than that.. the facility is clean, newly renovated. The gentleman that checked me out, did give me a % off on my service for the wait. Appreciated that

From the time I entered until the service was completed (which was swift and well done) I had an amazing experience! Tommy was on point with getting me started, verified everything that was needed to be done. Was also given a report on my vehicle and it was thoroughly reviewed with me. I have taken all 5 of my vehicles there and the experience has been fantastic every time! Def recommend using them.

Great service I always come here for my oil changes, inspection and anything that needs to be done. Very nice people and I have no issues with my car they take care of my car very well and I am well pleased with their services. Also decent prices they don’t overcharge. I will continue coming here to this pep boys.

Over charging...a lot of complaints from people while I was there...One lady claimed of overcharging she was there less than 2 hours and charged her 600 for labor(Parts were under a warannty) Next Lady had her 90 year old mother with her for a 3pm appt for 2 tire changes which she ordered online because they were in stock. she came in and an hour after sitting there with her mother they told her that they only had one of the tires. after about a half hour, they said they can get one from another location...after about 30 minutes the tire rolled in and remained at the side of the front desk for at least a half hour. Somehow, she got to leave over an hour sooner than me even though I had a 2pm appointment...third lady came in and swore she was being overcharged that she has been coming there for over 20 years and wont be back...Ill tell you it was wayyyy too long to do an inspection and change 2 sets of brake pads 4+ hours when they told me 1.5 hours. Ill tell you the communication was horrible and if youre going to be there for 4 hours bring a phone charger and a coat because the heat was not on and even the 60 inch tv wanst even on...I think I got this cold because of Pep Boys I wont be back

During my visit to Pep Boys, I had a very disappointing experience due to the manager, Tommy. From the moment I asked for help, he was rude and dismissive. He did not listen to my concerns and spoke in a disrespectful tone, which made the situation uncomfortable. Instead of trying to help or explain things clearly, he seemed annoyed and unwilling to provide proper customer service. His behavior showed a lack of professionalism and made me feel like my business did not matter. Because of this experience, I left feeling frustrated and dissatisfied, and I would think twice before returning to this location.

I’ve never seen such a lack of urgency! Phones ringing no one being help staff walking past you. Actively seeking to do the least in terms of service! Embarrassing kind of service that just makes you off put and annoyed/frustrated you gave them business.

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE!!!! I can not stress this enough! I brought my car here to get a new set of wheels. They scratched up and mangled one of my rims, then made me jump though hoops to get them to fix it. They left me stranded without a car, or any help for 3 days, and made me miss work since they lost the wheel they were supposed to be fixing and needed to track it down. Completely unprofessional and unhelpful. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else!

I recently visited Pep Boys to have my car checked out after purchasing it from a dealership, just to make sure everything was in good shape. Tariq was the technician who looked at my car, and he was incredibly kind and patient. He explained everything clearly and made sure I understood what was going on every step of the way. The staff up front were just as amazing. I believe his name was Mike, he was extremely helpful and walked me through all the issues they found, answering every question I had. Overall, my experience was wonderful. The team was honest, helpful, and made me feel confident about my car. I’ll definitely continue coming back and will be recommending this location to others

This place is mismanaged, horrible communication and I because of my experience and witnessing multiple customers with same complaints, I will never use this and likely any other Pep Boys again. I made an appointment at 10 AM for battery replacement. Shah said it would be 2 to 3 hours. It is now 8 PM and I am still waiting on my car. No calls from them, even though they said two to three hours. Claimed I needed a new alternator, even though no red light on to indicate issues. Called at 6 PM for an update and they already had the phone system activated to say they were closed, even though they close at 7 PM. Drove down to store, since I hadn't heard from them and they weren't answering the phone. Multiple customers waiting with same complaints of no updates on vehicles and either over charging or unnecessary upselling. Save yourself the stress and money and do not go to this Pep Boys. It's a mess.

I had a very disappointing experience at the Pep Boys in Lake Grove on Saturday, November 23, 2025, after dropping off my son’s 2009 Volkswagen to take advantage of a Black Friday promotion from Cooper Tires—buy two tires, get two free. Before authorizing the work, the store manager, Omair, quoted me a price of $380 for all four new tires. At no point did he mention anything about installation fees. When I arrived to pick up the car, the final bill was almost $200 higher than what I was originally quoted. Not only was the price misleading, but the communication was terrible. The store closes at 7 PM, and I received no updates regarding when the car would be ready. I even called at 6:30 PM and it went to a recorded message saying the store was already closed. Then, at almost 8 PM, I finally got a call from Mike letting me know the car was done. Mike was polite and tried his best to help, but there was very little he could do. He advised me to call Tommy, the assistant manager, the next day to address the billing issue. When I went out to the car and started it, the tire pressure indicator was on. I quickly went in to the store but as they were closed up Mike, who was really very helpful was unable to do anything. I checked the tires, and found that the front two tires were only filled to 20 PSI, even though they should have been at 32 PSI. This is basic safety protocol that should never be overlooked. When I called Tommy the next day to explain everything, he was dismissive, accused me of yelling (which I was not), and told me he would only do whatever his manager instructed—offering no real assistance at all. Overall, this was an extremely frustrating and unprofessional experience from start to finish. Between the misleading pricing, lack of communication, poor workmanship, and unhelpful management, I will never be returning to Pep Boys again. I highly recommend others avoid this location.

Waited over 3 hours for the service to be completed with a booked appointment. And was told after 2 and a half hours they were running a little behind. Nothing was really explained after I got my receipt. Will not be returning to pepboys it was not worth my time

Had a 1230 appointment my car was there forn5 hours for an alignment. Went to pick up car and they didn't align the rear. The guy said he doesn't do alignment on Mercedes Benz. This is the 4th pep boys I've gone to that has told me this. My other appointment was at the Lindenhurststore the day before. After waiting there for two hours I was told he can't do my alignment. The service is horrible all around. Called customer service they assured me someone one call back and they haven't

The management at this establishment is very welcoming & very easy to deal with. Tommy and Omir have been a pleasure to work with! I had a tire changed and oil change done very quickly. I recommend this pepboys location for everyone.

I went to change my battery, at the same time inspection at this location, the guy on the front desk named Omar, a nice and a very responsible person. He checked my batteries, free of cost he checked my car. He is very thorough. All my things done in 30 minutes. Price is also really reasonable. Some places I used to go take two to three hours, this location is fast and convenient. We'll go in future

This is the best pep boy location I ever been. They provide efficient service. Front desks were really nice and kind, they will explain everything if I have any questions. And gave me this paper on the floor during services to prevent car getting dirty. Making an appointment with them definitely save time for waiting.
