Not so fast, but friendly, and mostly knowledgeable. Very good selection. They will install your wiper free if u buy from them. Free battery and alternator testing too.
This review is for Shane that was working Sunday night, just wanted to say he won't above and be on to help me out while he was already busy and getting ready to close. He is an asset to this company at a time when workers like him are becoming harder and harder to find. Just want to say thank you to Shane and hope he gets commended for going above and beyond to help.
Giovanni H. helped us find the battery that we needed for our 2011 Honda CR-V. A better quality battery was suggested because of the auto-start feature on the car. The cost was just $25 more than the regular battery, which was then installed by Giovanni. He was very friendly and so helpful, answering any questions that we had. We will surely be returning when we need anything for our vehicles. You really cannot beat the free installation at Advance Auto Parts! Way cheaper than going to a mechanic!
I visited this location as I was having issues with the battery in my truck. Upon entering there were no other customers. I asked the gentleman behind the counter if I could have my battery checked. It immediately showed that my battery was dead. Although it is advertised that they change batteries, I was told by the guy working that they couldn't change my battery because I had digital displays and there is a piece that needs to be put on the car while the process was being done, and they didn't have that piece. I was told I needed to go to a dealership or a mechanic. As it turns out, this is not the case and upon inquiring at another location, it was no problem for them to change my battery.
If the employees didn't feel comfortable doing it or maybe didn't have the piece needed at the time, they could have referred me to another location. Instead they brushed me off and obviously were too "busy" to assist customers.
The Ronkonkoma location is about 5 min away, take the extra time and go to that location. They will give you correct information and assist the way they should.
Quick and easy transaction, found exactly what was needed for the vehicle, great customer service and good location off of main Street in Holbrook, clean and great knowledgeable workers.
Girl that works here was over confident in telling me the part I needed when I questioned it- turns out she was wrong-she basically guessed. Came back to return and a guy there helped me out with no issues.
I just have to thank Advance Auto Parts. My 79 yo mom told me about her experience at your location this past week and she could not have been happier! She said the gentleman helped her every step of the way, from helping her get from the car to the front door, then finding the remote battery she needed and even installing it for her. She was so grateful and relieved to have his expertise and assistance. Thank you very much Advance Auto- you guys will always be #1 in my book!
I needed a rear wiper replaced on my SUV. A few days ago, I went to Auto Zone in East Patchogue. They sold me the wiper and when they went to install it, they were stumped...no one could replace the wiper. They had absolutely no idea how to replace the wiper... so I returned the wiper. Today I was passing Advance auto parts in Holbrook and stopped by to see if they could replace the rear wiper. I bought it and the woman who sold it to me replaced the wiper in less than 30 seconds. I draw no conclusion about personnel in either place from this event. I only know where I'll be going first the next time I need something automotive. Kudos Advance Auto Parts....well played.
Wow it's misting out went in for wiper blade left glasses at home guy told me he couldn't change it out because it's raining. Just to be very clear there was absolutely no confusion the guy just flat out was not going out in the mist. He must be made of sugar. I only asked him to do it because I forgot my glasses as I stated.
This is not the store I normally shop at for automotive needs. However the staff was great. They were very friendly and extremely helpful. I will definitely be shopping here again
They are awesome,they help you with everything, from what kind of oil to putting it in if you need, and they will check your battery , or check your codes !!! There awesome

Everyone here is always very helpful and always is there to answer difficult questions. Many of the employees have been around cars since they were young and have worked on anything from old Bel Airs to brand new Acura’s. The amount of knowledge in this store is great and they always do their best to help you find what you need.
Joe is great with customers and Nicole is the best manager. She made sure that we got the right battery for our car at the best price! By the way, they're pretty funny, too.
Like this store. Helpful staff. I know nothing about cars this staff helps you to be able to choose the right part and tell you what you need to know to install.
I've always been treated very well there by all the employees. They are always willing to answer any automotive questions and help you install things that might be a little difficult for most.
Entered the store and was greeted with a "What's up." I was trying to find a item but. Was never asked if I needed help. I liked the items stocked but, the lack of the employee professionalism is a deterrent.
After Searching for an auto parts store for a horn relay that was used to control aftermarket lights I went back to Holbrook Advanced. Ten different auto parts stores from many different chains, including some other advanced stores. Got same story, they can only look up vintage numbers and try to find what came with the vehicle.....no matter how many times I explained its aftermarket I dont need the horn relay from the car I need the one in my hand ...I just get blank stares. Finally opted to drive the 2 hours each way to Holbrook where I have bought it before, and in five minutes had my part. So a big Shout out for Joe and Tom who really are pros. So worth the 4hrs I spent on road. Than the 10 hours not walking out with anything. Store Manager did a great job hiring!!
The parts and the prices are good. I can’t complain about it but I complain about the service. I walked in to return some parts and I didn’t have the card which I used for the purchase so they refused to give my money back which I totally understand. I’m a cashier too so I don’t accept any returns without the card which is used for the purchase. But when I refuse them, I don’t say “I’m not giving you anything untill you bring your credit card!!!” So the african american big dude literally talked to me with an attidude and I didn’t like it.
I have been working in the auto industry for several years. I have to say, I won't go anywhere else on this Island beside this location on main street. The manager Nicole is beyond knowledgeable, more so than some well seasoned technicians. She will get what you need and get it done right the first time around. She treats the store as if it was her own business. Very rare to find in retail. Her team is incredible, everyone really knows there stuff and will always go above and beyond to help.
The commercial side of the store is amazing as well. Order a part, it's there before promised and always right on target.
My business has forever been won over by this awesome team.
Customer service here is pretty good. They always have my online order ready for pickup within 15 minutes, unlike the Patchogue store which waits for customers to arrive before picking the order. Usually not too busy either, probably my favorite location in the area.
Are you looking for a knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff? If so, visit the "Advance Auto Parts" store in Holbrook. I was lucky enough to work with David and I cannot express how excellent his customer service skills were. From looking up the type of wiper blade I needed to explaining the different types, I must say that I was quite impressed. And to top it off, he put the blade on my car. Now if that isn't phenomenal customer service, I don't know what is. Great job, keep up the nice work.
If you know what exactly you need, then this place is good to go in for a quick transaction. If you have some technical questions, you may be out of luck as only one or two men seems knowledgeable about the products.
