Cannot recommend enough. Carlos the owner, and his staff are all friendly, professional, and competent. I'm new to the area and needed a garage I can walk to/from. Luckily, this was the nearest shop, and I could not be happier with the outcome and experience. They got everything done quickly, and on top of all that, it cost less than I was expecting.
I have been a customer of Carl Fern Auto Service for a long time. The service has been excellent all the time and at a reasonable cost. They have done tire replacement; repair problem with check engine light, transmission replacement etc... they always have the wright answer and mechanics to do the job wright.

I just want to give a huge appreciation to the owner or the person I worked with on my car. I asked for an oil change and mentioned a few concerns, and not only did they handle the oil change, but they also fixed the stalling issue I was having. They diagnosed an alignment problem that even big chain mechanics couldn’t figure out. The mechanic here was incredibly experienced and got to the root of the problem quickly. The service was professional, and I truly appreciate the time and care they put into my car.

Took my car there with busted ass drum brakes, like all went south and was pissing brake fluid everywhere, my man saved me with quick turn around, no car repair salesman tactics, just took care of me and the car. Great price, great work, will absolutely be back!!! 10 stars outta 5. Will be back.
I brought my car in to get the AC fixed. They put Freon and recharged the car and I took it home and the ac stopped working by the end of the day. I took it back. I told him it didn’t work. He did the same exact thing I went to takeit home. I didn’t even make it home before I realized the AC still isn’t working. I had to bring it back. They told me they needed to get a part for it. I Called back the next day he said it will be ready in a half hour and when I came the ac still wasn’t working. I had already spent money on getting it fixed when it wasn’t fixed and I spent all this money on Uber because he said it was fixed when it wasn’t fixed and then he told me the job is gonna cost $1200. I told him I’ll take it elsewhere and I nicely asked if I was going to get any sort of refund on the money ahead already spent being that he never fixed the problem and then he threatened to take the Freon out of my car. He was beyond rude and they clearly dont know what they are doing there. I DO NOT recommend and will not be returning!!!
they don't do an inspection if there's another car in front! even though they have 2 employees standing around doing nothing! probably because it's a more expensive service! I don't recommend it!
Carlos is one of a kind. Very personable and made me feel truly like a valued customer. I’ve only had bad experiences at auto shops, but Carlos made me feel confident that my car will be worked on efficiently and honestly. 100% will be returning if car troubles come up again!
My friend & I ran out of oil on the LIE & they were incredibly helpful & accommodating! Bryan was excellent- checked for an oil leak & put in a quart of oil.

These guys do a excellent job. At a reasonable price. very straight forward and transparent. I have been there twice now and the price they quoted was the price I paid, They never try nickle and diming. I have recommended them to other people already and will continue to do so.
I have been using Carl-Fern for 20 years. They do great work and, most importantly, they are honest. They never try to sell you on something you don’t need and always make sure their customers are taken care of. Whether you need an inspection or rebuilt engine, I’d recommend Carl-Ferm in Holbrook.
I brought my vehicle here to receive it's 40,000 mile maintenance service (which included various fluids checked and/or changed). After picking it up I noticed a humming noise and immediately returned. I was told to drop it off first thing the next morning. I dropped it off at 9am and when i didn't hear from them all day, I called @4:45pm. I was told they didn't get a chance to check out my car but they would be on it first thing the following morning. The next day a friend of mine, who works in the vicinity of this shop, called to tell me that my car had been parked out front all day and still hasn't moved as of 4pm. I called immediately without letting them know that my friend was able to see my car from her job. I was told that unfortunately my car needed both front axles replaced and it would be unsafe for me to drive before doing so, that I must have hit a curb or two causing this damage. They actually said they were just taking my car off the lift now. Long story short, after having my husband take my car to another shop, the axles were perfectly fine, all I needed was the front pass wheel bearing replaced. Problem 100% solved for a fraction of the price. THESE GUYS ARE DISHONEST, OPPORTUNISTIC CROOKS! Women beware, they will use deceitful tactics to pressure you into getting unnecessary work- and that's the only department where these guys are pros!
As always you won't find a more honest high quality Auto Repair Shop anywhere.The owner John is Great at his job.The mechics are all 1st rate.Johns dad is also a great guy.Try them out and you will never go anywhere else.

EXCELLENT! Friendly, accommodating, priced right, fast service and they are thorough! I live in Wading River and come all the way to Holbrook for car repairs. Nobody beats them and with 2 teenagers driving older cars, I have had plenty of experience.

If you want an honest assessment and great customer service hands down you need to take your car here. I have been taking my car and now my wife’s car over here for the past couple of months and these guys know what their doing and talking about. The prices are very reasonable and they explain everything that is wrong with your car before they start fixing it. I have used other places but these guys I highly recommend because it’s an family owned shop and they are fair and honest. P.S. When stop by ask for Carlos or Carlos JR.

Grandfather paid almost $400 for his check engine light to get fixed and they just reset the battery so the light went off for less than 100 miles and they wanna charge him to try and fix it again. *Warning* They take advantage of the Elderly because they don't really know how to use the internet.
Brought my truck in for a loud banging noise. Was told it needed brakes and rotors. $800 for brakes and rotors and my truck is still making that noise and the brake light is on. They took it upon themselves to do brakes and rotors and not fix the real problem which they now tell me is the axle. So I guess it'll cost me hundreds more when it should've been fixed in the first place. Not right
