I’ve been ordering at this place for years (mostly for pickup) and have only had great experiences. Good local fish place

Beware. They sold my wife and I rotten cod. I went in the next day and the worker blankly stared at me when I told him. He then asked "So, what do you want to do?", I asked for a refund and to which I was met with an "absolutely not." He further went on to explain that he does not care that we bought rotten cod from him. A little empathy even without a refund would have made a difference. Instead all I got was "You expect me to refund cod you bought YESTERDAY!"

I order delivery from them on grubhub occasionally. The food is home cooked style. Not a lot of seasoning and not restaurant style, but I like it that way. Affordable option and good quality fish.

Clean bathrooms and friendly staff They have broiled fish as well, but make sure to order by phone a head of time, if you’re planning to dine in, as it takes 20 minutes to prepare. Today, I had the broiled red snapper with their rice and salad

The food is delicious. They prepare whatever you like on the spot. There are no tables and no takeout.

I normally order delivery for lunch. The food is fresh and delicious and the delivery driver is very pleasant. Happy to have found this place close to work

I have their broiled salmon all the time. Sometimes they have this special clam chowder that is just amazing

Fish House offers a small selection of raw seafood, with the prepared food area located on the left. However, there are several aspects that could be improved: The staff is not very sociable, which affects the customer experience. The food lacks flavor, and the rice is overly soft. Sauces and dressings are sold separately, which is not very convenient for many customers. The place has a lot of potential to stand out in the neighborhood, but it’s important for them to read the reviews and consider what customers are saying. I would love for all the businesses in my community to thrive and be successful, but to achieve that, these issues need to be addressed. I hope to see improvements soon because this place could truly become a local favorite.

What can I say, not bad but not the best. The menu is outdated, let’s see plain yellow rice sticky rice I’ll shall say. The fish didn’t have seasoning. But it wasn’t bad, if you like fish favor. The salad was hot omg.. lol I’ll go back but maybe try something different..

The worst of the worst. Overpriced and terrible quality. I later found out that these guys have been scamming customers for years selling imitation scallops as the real thing. They actually made the news for it! Beware before you throw your money away at this joint!

Ordered food from them. A whiting sandwich and fries, I've had this before and enjoyed it. However this time the food arrived incredibly late, the sandwich was cold and gross, the fries were stale dried-out rocks that didn't seem like they'd have been good fresh, really sub-par quality. I complained about this and rather than take accountability, the establishment banned me from all future orders despite being a loyal customer all this time. REAL MATURE.

Serves FAKE scallops - and implied much of their ”fresh fish” is actually imitation, as revealed by an undercover investigation by Inside Edition this week (worth a watch). Disgusting, dishonest, and fully illegal! No wonder it tasted off the last time I ate here. Won’t be returning!

I ordered this in Seamless. It was really tasty. Although, I wish they had mashed potatoes on the menu. The tater tots were great but fried sides is quite much with a fried main course. Overall , great quality and fresh.

I’ve purchased fresh fish from this store in-person in the past and had good experience with the staff overall. However, I was shocked by the terrible service when I tried putting in an order by phone. I was having a hard time understanding the man due to loud background noise at the store. As I was asking for clarification, the man unfortunately hung up on me. When I called back thinking it was an accident and tried to re-order, the person was extremely rude and blamed me for not understanding him. He then intentionally hung up on me again. This is unfortunate since I like supporting local restaurants and I’ve only heard good things about the store. I no longer want to even give them a second chance due to their terrible customer service and rudeness.

Terrible customer service. Fishmonger incorrectly placed my order AND after acknowledging their mistake they did not know how to do chargebacks when I asked for them to correct the mistake, charge me back for the incorrect charge, and recharge me the correct amount. The guy's exact words were "I don't know the password to the credit card machine" ?! ?! How do you run a business then? This business is run terribly. I do not recommend.

I love Fish House, I order a #11 on every visit. The food is fresh and hot. The outdoor seating it great as well. Not to keen on extra charge for debit cards. Only small draw back, otherwise would have received 5 Stars.

I buy broiled salmon regularly at the Fish House because cooking it at home means lingering odors in my apartment. The salmon is always fresh and cooked perfectly. The one-pound portion is enough for my family of three people to share, plus it comes with rice and salad. We also love their seasoned fries, which are called JoJo's. The fish is cooked to order, so I recommend calling ahead so that your order is ready for you. If not it takes about 15 minutes to prepare. They have waiting areas both outside and inside with tables and chairs.

Was really excited to try this place then ordered a fried and broiled founder with rice/veggie combo and a what I got was what tasted and looked like boiled fish in a watery oil (not a sauce) without any salt or flavor except fishiness, a ice cream scoop of bland yellow rice and a tiny sad iceberg with tomato “salad” but with no dressing. FOR $15... Nothing had salt or seasoning. After paying for the combo my husband encourages me to ask for a piece of fried fish instead and return the broiled. We ordered same platter but fried as well and that was better (still no seasoning or salt) but there was salt packets on table at least. So when I asked to substitute my broiled for fried after showing him my gross plate of broiled fish, the counter person says he can’t redo anything. It wasn’t like I ate half of it. It only took one bite to notice how bad it was. $15 down the drain and food wasted because it wasn’t prepared with attention and care. Definitely never coming back

First time trying it, food was amazing. Salmon fillet cooked perfectly seasoned well. Crab sticks really good, calamari was great huge pieces definitely freshly cut and made there. Definitely will go back

Amazing food love it. Now I've been coming here for few months... love this place... Today I had this fried combo #12 it was delicious ?.. I don't know what this other customer is talking about.. the menu is very simple and easy to understand you don't need to be Harvard graduate to understand the menu is pretty simple. 2nd the cashier seems like not much talkative person which is fine by me I go there for food not for entertainment. it's pretty simple as any other togo place... Order your food.. Pay.. get the food once is done and Go!! ?Highly recommend this place...??

This is a fish market that also serves cooked food, consisting of mostly sea food. I've been passing by this place for the past two years, so I decided to help out a local place and try them out for dinner yesterday. Upon entering you see a disgruntled looking man working the register. That would immediately discourage most from bothering to give this place a chance, but I decided to give it a shot anyway. The menus messy and unclear. The verbal experience with that monotone speaking man was less than pleasant. His one worded answers were just not doing it for me and he seemed to think people are supposed to be psychic and automatically know what each item on the menu came with. He treated an elderly couple that came in after me in that same disgruntled way, but was pleasant to a lady who came in to pay something and spoke his same language. See, I speak that same language too, he just wasn't aware of it. Good customer service shouldn't be selective to what language you speak especially because he was also fluent in English. I don't know if he is aware of his incompetent customer service abilities. He obviously drags himself through his workday, and he is dragging that business down to the ground with him. I decide to get the food and actually taste it before solely condeming this place based on the dry, negative experience with the cashier guy. I ordered the flounder and shrimp which came with rice and salad for $14. I was hoping the food would be a game changer here but no. The food was all around bland and tasteless. The salad was so insignificant it doesn't even merit a review. The only good part about the fish was that it was crunchy on the exterior due to it being breaded and fried, but it had absolutely No seasoning. Adding tarter sauce did not help either. The yellow rice also had absolutely no flavor and wasn't cooked enough. It was kind of mushy in some areas. Threw it out. Their tarter sauce is just as bad as the food. The only thing I can say I enjoyed was the four shrimps it came with.. and that is too sad for any place of business. $14 for four shrimps and trash is NOT ok with me. I will NOT spend any of my money there. I will NOT go back, even though I literally have to pass it by on a daily basis.

Ordered #9 which is $11. Calamari with French fries and salad. The French fries are skinny and small. Calamari, it's crispy. Also, too much breading and oil. Tomato sauce is cold and taste like it came out the can.. Won't go back. Felt a little dizzy with too much oily food.

Ran into this neighborhood gem! Super pleased with the staff service, they were helpful and prompt. Seafood was the freshest and the shop was really clean! Food was superb. Definitely coming back very soon.

The male worker taking orders was very rude. I ordered food and he didn't even want to take my order. He was so rude to me. I was super nice. I ended up asking for a refund. This place uses poor quality items and should be avoided. As I was leaving he was touching the money and the food with the same gloves. I'm glad I got a refund. Can anyone say cross contamination. That is exactly what I saw. Eat at your own risk. Food poisoning waiting to happen smh

Always good fish mad stingy with the tarter sauce now. You have to buy the one they make but they give you the packaged tarter sauce, smh

After ordering from here numerous times through seamless. Although the food is usually good. i received bad service tonight when I ordered . I was given some BS excuse about how they dont deliver to my area anymore, which is weird because I order food from them 2-3 times a week while at work. On top of that, my brother ordered food from them earlier in the day for the same destination. Next time make up a better excuse. Thanks for the attitude from whomever answered the phone. Your a real A** Hole. you've just lost my business.

I cannot believe it took us so long to discover this gem! So we're trying to eat healthier and we had a whole menu planned for tonight's dinner, but C Town had slim pickings when it came to fish and my boyfriend suggested that we check out Fish House. I'm so glad he did! The service is outstanding. The guy working, helped us choose which fish to buy based on the menu we wanted to cook. We went with Cod and it came out lovely. The value, the fish was really fresh. And it was much cheaper than what was at C Town, across the street. For example, the salmon steak $5 a pound less and you had much more choice and it looked much more fresh than what was at the supermarket across the street. We'll be buying our seafood here going forward. There's something to say about supporting small business, and Fish House is a great find in Sunnyside.
