I’ve shopped at Dollar Tree for years and recently started coming to this location after the Steinway store closed. I stopped in this weekend and honestly was shocked by the condition of the food aisles.
There were multiple packaged food items that looked chewed through, showing that there is a pest issue. What shocked me most was that these products were still sitting on the shelves for customers to buy. Seeing visibly compromised food left out like that suggests a serious lack of store oversight.
The overall condition of the store felt disorganized and concerning. I’ve never seen anything like this at other Dollar Tree locations. It was really disappointing and honestly unsettling to see food in that condition. I truly hope this store takes this seriously and addresses the issue quickly.
Update on my review this dollar tree has rats or the pallet that contained the juice had rats. Their hugs was ate up. It was disgusting. I would not get anything from there ever again if you dont want to be sick. My entire family has diarrhea. Because just 2 days ago I bought juicy juice. Directly above this. And the hugs was a diff color and was not ate up like this.
The wonderful and intriguing world Dollar Tree! Yayayadah. It’s has everything you need plus more. The experience differs per person trust me. But I’ve been in here a few times and it be a couple handsome gentleman passing through there. Is this a low key spot !?
Live this dollar tree Manhattan dollars tree are so unorganized and messy. This dollar tree 2nd time here and love it also easy for me to get to Q32 bus so perfect.
Really big store that never has sstocked.i mean empty and this is all the time. Management obviously does not know how to handle inventory. Don't waste your time going. That about somes it up.
Can someone please tell me why the line here is always so long? They either need to hire more cashiers or train the current ones to move more efficiently. It feels like you’re at the DMV when you come here. ?
Been going to this location since it opened…the tall manager that’s been at this location for years spends most of his time hiding and gossiping with other associates slowly packing out while the line is extremely long and the cashiers are struggling ….he has to be one of the worse to employees to run a location with no customer service skills at all …I’ve overheard him talking to another employee about promoting other employees to manager and talking about the process of them having to be trained mean while his skills are horrible who promoted this guy will love to contact corporate because he is very unprofessional…he should be helping his employees and not talking about them !and when I asked him for help he told me to ask the cashier which the line was all the way too the back! All he had to do was simply assist it takes no time to help …all the time he spent hiding he could have been helping out the cashiers with the balloons …and I’ve watched elderly customers also being treated unfairly while having to stand on that long line while the cashier struggles to help customers ! Please bring new management with better customer service skills that really want to work !!!! The cashiers deserve promotions for being very friendly every time !!! Please look into the manager that runs this location’s performance !!!!
A lot of stuff, but never clean and attention is very bad. The ladies on the cashier are very mad and not always. You will find the shelves full because never have done with her organization so you may not have all items and you have seen on the webpage.
Update: their seasonal items are awesome. You have to use your imagination on how to put all things together.
Very kind and welcoming workers. I forget my wallet, they kept my groceries on the side, while I am getting my wallet at apartment. They even kept my frozen food back in the freezer. Thank you so so much.
One cashier on a Saturday afternoon. Huge line… only section thats stocked is seasonal and crafts. Oh and the place smells like boiled cabbage. I didn’t buy anything, I couldn’t wait in line and bare the smell.
11:55 am ,the lady in the aisle #4 She was very rude to me, despite having been respectful to her. My recommendation is that she should train her staff to avoid losing customers.
Every location has 6 employees on Saturday but only 1 register open. I just leave the cart full of stuff like maybe it wasn't meant to be if they can't check me out in a timely manner. They're losing money because they can't ring us up and the geniuses haven't figured that out yet
This store just recently reopened after being closed for about a month. One would think that while it's closed they would clean it up a bit and restock it, but no, that's not the case. In recent months the store shelves are almost empty on some aisles. Store is not clean and in severe need of a makeover. It was a waste for me to walk there since they didn't have several of the items I needed. Dollar tree management....if you read this, this store needs your attention desperately. The neighborhood needs it, but right now it has nothing to offer. Hope this changes.
The inside is very messy. There are cockroaches crawling around the floor and the store smells. The worst store of Dollar Tree.. The inside should definitely be designed cleanly or it should be closed until it is clean. The Dollar Tree brand looks bad in this store.
This location is wonderful the store is always organized and clean. People forget this is a dollar store with premium items . This is not the Hamptons. There will always be a line and the employees do the best they can. I have been coming to this store for 2 years straight and I've never had any complaints. I am so happy and grateful for this location near my house and I give this store 5 stars. I see a lot of complaints before but I can say since 2023 I've been coming here and this place is very good.
The john Oliver /Last Week Tonight piece holds up here. Monetizing and exploiting the vulnerable. Nothing pisses me off more than the shelf banners that proclaim 'The thrill of the hunt!" As if being indigent is a game and a choice. Don't fall for it, Dollar tree is a publicly-held wealthy Fortune-500 corporate entity.
One of my favorite Dollar Tree locations (much better than the ones in Jersey). They stock awesome supply of arts and craft and dog food items and their open pretty late. Would have given them a 5 but, the fact that the store is a bit on the messier side and store entrance and exit looks a bit raggedy (most likely due to limited staff) and customers that tend to pull out items and not return them back to where they originally found it, so things can get scattered everywhere. Also, cashiers are not so friendly and welcoming. Everyone always looks angry ??♀️ but, as long as they have what I need, it’s all good.
Excellent prices and a good variety of items...but is a mess! One of the messiest I had visited. Everything is every where even on the floor, the food/snack area has a weird smell and very little they seem to care. Everyone one is kind of friendly but they look either too tired or with no desire to work there. You ask a question and most of them know nothing and send you to find yourself. There is one Asian employee who has been the most helpful either when I asked a question or in the register. Don’t get me wrong the store itself is good with good quality items and we go there all the time. An excellent addition to the area. But definitely need improvement.
I know we have to do social distancing, but wow this Dollar Tree seriously need some management, there’s only 10 people inside, when their sign it says 15 “customers” allowed... maybe the manager needs to do headcount.. and I waited almost 1 hour to go inside and poor people waiting & waiting outside.. there’s only one register/cashier open, that’s why you also have to wait for long line to pay.. do yourself a favor and don’t go on this location
The only redeeming quality of this place is that everything is $1. Other than that this store is a mess. There are items misplaced all over the floors and most everything is highly disorganized. In addition I saw 2 mice (or 1 really fast one) scurrying amongst the mess in different aisles, so if you buy anything from here I would suggest washing is thoroughly before using it.
I had the MOST HORRIFIC experience at this Dollar Tree. Get ready because this is a long one:
I ordered a case of flowers for a concert at the school I teach at from the website and chose this location for pick up because it is the closest location to my apartment. After it arrived (two days later than the projected date) I went to pick them up. When I arrived I noticed the random boxes all over and a sour smell in the store. It looked disgusting inside. I waited in line and then presented the email about my flowers. I was told to speak to the manager and when she arrived I showed her the email on my phone and she asked for my ID which I gave. She took both and then walked away with them for 30 minutes. I felt unsafe with someone taking those things and just walking off. As I waited I witnessed a mouse run across the floor. When she returned she said she couldn't find my order (which is not surprising because like I said, there were boxes all over the place.) I asked what can be done because I had prepaid and she said to call back tomorrow.
The next day I call back and spoke to a male manager. He said he didn't have time to speak with me. I said I could not call back later because I was on a break from work. I asked if he could look for my package and call me if he found it. He responded with "how can I call you back if you'll be working?" I told him he could leave a message. I got no response so I called again after work and he said he had not found my order and to call headquarters for a refund. I do call and as I'm on the phone he calls me back saying they DO have my package. Great, I'll be right there to pick it up.
When I arrive I ask to speak to the manager and meet with a third person who immediately says they don't have my package. I inform her that I just spoke with someone who said they did and asked her to please at least look. She does and hands me someone else's order. The after again insisting she looked again and found my order.
NOT ONCE DID ANYONE APOLOGIZE.
This Dollar Tree location is very convenient for any supply runs during lunch. They often have a nice varied selection of items. It can get a bit chaotic though with so many people shopping. Be prepared to wait a bit on line, especially when it gets really busy since it seems they're short-staffed.
Dollar Tree still going strong. When the store opened at this location business was pretty slow. The prices have not gone up like other dollar stores. Everything is a Dollar and you can find good items for the kitchen, bottle water, cleaning items etc. No parking is better that you walked.
