They suck stood outside in the freezing cold while the door was wide open but not allowed to come in. Must have thought we were going to steal their bottles and cans. Left and went around the corner on ridge rd where people were friendly and smiling. One staris too many
Thought I'd try them out with a small job. Asked the attendant how it worked. His reply was, "Bring your bag to the door and we'll take care of the rest." Brought in my bag (103 cans = $5.15). He took them around a blind corner and came back with $4.30. I asked him why the short change. His reply, "That's what we counted, and why didn't you tell us how many you had?" Told him he didn't ask -- and he just walked away. Sham operation. Telling you and everyone I know. BTW, my neighbors' 5 year old wouldn't have been off on that count by 17.
I just wanna shout out to Chris!!! The absolute nicest person I've ever met!! He acknowledges off site n makes me feel that as a patron I'm important!! Love this guy n think he's an asset to the company!! I've known him since I met him in the Wayne county location!! He is a down to earth heart of the company!! Hopefully I'll see u soon Chris!!!! G
I wasn't exactly sure where I was supposed to go due to signage but a man came out and took my bag for me. I waited outside while they quickly took care of things. Tossed my bag but other than that all good! I came here mainly because they're open an hour later than most places which is convenient.
I counted out some of my cans at home and was at $17 before I decided I didn't want to count the rest of them and went to Can Kings. lookin at what I had left in cans I should of at least had $25 in total.
Can Kings gave me $15 back smh DO NOT GO HERE there complete rip offs and also have rude employees never will I be back
My go to place to keep my hands clean. Staff is fast and considerate when weather is cold, waiting in my car while they finished up. Can get busy. Pro tip, go on Tuesday's.
We counted 781 cans when we loaded. The bed of our truck was full level to the bedsides. When we got there we attempted to tell the workers the number we had AND that we reused our bags and would like them back. Nevermind the fact we were not greeted with as much as a simple "Hello". They had the music playing so loud they couldn't hear me when they were outside the door and we were speaking in yelling levels. They made us stand outside the door. When they came out for more bags I, again, stated "we would like our bags back as we reuse them". When he didn't acknowledge me I yelled "HEY" to get his attention and repeated myself. To which he replied "some have already been thrown away". When I told him I had told him to begin with that we reuse them he responded that he had not heard me. No kidding. Perhaps the music that's louder than any bar on a Saturday may have something to do with that.
After all that he comes out and hands me $32 and some change. To which I said "excuse me I had 781 that's about $7 short". He said "I'm sorry but you didn't tell anyone you had a count". WHAT??? Yes i did....but....Unless you tell them you've counted you get whatever they want to give you? Then he asks me what exactly I want. At that point I was so enraged I said "to not be screwed, keep the $7 or whatever it is" and turned my back and left.
I would never have thought returning bottles and cans could be a stressful experience until today!!
BEWARE!!!! RUDE!! Obviously not interested in customer service at ALL!!

Read some previous reviews…I’ve been going there for years…very convenient, occasionally there’s a wait, but, that can happen anywhere. There is a 6 cent day and they may or may not still have a 6 cent coupon in “Flavor”…
I’ve always been treated respectfully, I trust their accuracy, and appreciate the convenience…it’s been years since I returned bottles/cans at a grocery store and had to deal with the headaches of stuff being denied, then having to go to the service desk to take care of it, etc…
I highly recommend, they’re a hard working group of guys that get the job done, help with your bags, ….
Always thought about treating them to lunch, but, wouldn’t know what to surprise them with…a plethora of restaurants, Wegmans, etc near by…maybe I’d just have to show up after firing up my grill in the backyard…😉🙂
I've been here twice and will never return again!
First, anyone rating them that they pay more than 5 cents per item are either the owners, employees or some of their friends! There's absolutely no way to verify those claims unless you recounted out your bottles and cans BEFORE you give them it! The business doesn't allow ANYONE inside to observe!

The employee outside is rude. I don't understand why he is that way but they will and should lose business because of it.
Customers are NOT ALLOWED inside! Why? Well, if they're dishonest in their business practice of shorting people money, what better way than to keep customers from witnessing getting ripped off.
I brought two full recycling rolling containers to this business on one day and the same two full recycling rolling containers to Nickelback on Culver on a different day. What was the difference?
Nickelback was friendly, allowed customers inside to observe and was very fast! I've been to other recycling places that were good to but stay away from Can Kings until they change their bad attitudes and company policies excluding customers from observing, or just make somewhere else the place you recycle!
I have visited here twice and I think my second visit was to give them another chance. Don't make that same mistake! Go somewhere else where they count in front of you and treat you with respect! This place is not the only bottle return company around.. Nickelback on Culver in Irondequoit has been great! You'll thank me!
I was at this location today at about 11:45. I brought 14 trash bags of mostly cans and bottles. I waited 30 minutes for them to come back and to my surprise I got only 28 dollars. That averages out to 1.86 dollars per garbage bag or 36 cans. Although I have no way to prove that I was robbed in comparison I had a woman that was there after me and done before me who had 1 garbage bag and a small blue recycling bin and got almost 7 bucks, one fourth of my return with 13 less bags. I'm very disappointed seeing as we trust these individuals to count our returns and come back with the right amount of money without us actually seeing them do it and most of us do not count our returns before taking them. Just be careful at this location going forward. Until today I had them rated at 5 stars.

I can see why people say they’re rude. Guy seemed very aggravated because I put the bags at the garage door instead of the wall-in door. They’re both doors! Lol.. It’s just the business... it’s hot.. Who cares. They’re doing us a huge favor.
I went to the Fairport Can Kings to bring my bottles back but the guy was very rude to me and he didn't count the rest of my bottles and he also yelled at me too it's the dude with the Fairport hots shirt on he should be fired
I typically do not write bad reviews, however I had one of the worst experiences in my life at this Can Kings in Webster NY. I had a truck full of cans that I was unloading by myself and one of the management members came running outside yelling at me because I was unloading in the wrong area. Then I walked inside after complying to wait my turn and just get the cans returned, and he proceeded to yell at me that I can’t read and need to wait outside. If I was doing something wrong I would at least hope the manager would have the decency and respect to ask me to move or offer help, or anything besides yell at someone and tell them they can’t read. He never even started with kindness or any respect for me as the customer. There was no sign that I even saw saying any of this and I have never had a problem walking in before. Nobody deserves to be treated the way this man acted. I am mortified.
Absolutely worst place you can go! I brought a lot of bags in. They took every other customer before me complaining that I brought in so many bags. That is literally their job! 1 hour later he handed my $80 to the wrong customer and thought it was funny
They insist on carrying your bags of bottles and cans for you and walk your money back out to your car. Very respectful and nice workers. Always thankful when you tip them.
Can Kings in Webster is top notch! Only can place I've ever been to that comes to greet you at the door of your car and take your bags of cans for you. Always super fast and nice, they come hand deliver your refund money so you dont have to even get out of your car! Old fashioned great quality service you dont find many places anymore. Sometimes they double the 5 cents and give you 10 instead. No hassle, no mess, no waiting in a stinky ,sticky redemption center. Highly recommend yall!! 👌👌🍾
I only trust the Can Kings with counting my cans. None of the other stores in the area are worth your time, especially if you want an accurate count of what you brought in. Save time, don't get ripped off - go to Can Kings
Easiest bottle return ever. Friendly staff. All you have to do is drive up and let them know you are there. They will help you unload your bags. All you do is wait for the money. So much better than other places I have been.
Why stuff bottles and cans in the return machines at grocery stores one at a time when Can Kings will take any size unsorted cans and bottles both glass and plastic altogether? Just drive up, unload your bags and relax as they sort and count your returns and bring out your money. Faster, cleaner and so much easier - I'm never going to those return machines again!
Great service. One of the employees that services me has his mask on around his chin, not his nose or mouth. That's not helpful. Still not sure how a woman that pulled up after me was finished being serviced before me, unless it was because she had a lot fewer returns than I did.
Even with the social distancing in place they are still doing an excellent job. Staff is friendly, polite and will make the experience as stress free and as quickly as possible. They have a deal of getting 6 cents per can on the 6th of every month and they also have a coupon in your local flyers that can be used any day.
I want to echo what others said in that it was a very professionally run operation with extremely helpful staff, very clean store and very quick in processing returns. Would not hesitate to go back..
The ONLY way to return cans. Seriously, who enjoys feeding cans into the Tomra machines that everyone has these days. Can Kings has real live humans and they do the work for you!!!! They are lightning fast, and they even give you 6 cents on ths 6th of every month. They also do 6 cents for any non-profit (schools and churches). Give em a shot, and you will never have to stand in the vestibule at Wegmans again!!
