Great price, straight forward service. Always helps out in a pinch. Had a flat and got me right in within the hour. Only issue is the god damn cigg smell EVERY SINGLE TIME I GET MY CARs BACK. Some one over there is freaking gross with the ciggie smell.
Brought my work vehicle there to get new brakes put on. Very friendly staff, and they did a great job. I will bring my vehicle there anytime to get serviced. I called two other garages before I called big dog and the price ended up being $200 cheaper than if I went to the other places
Went there to have my old truck inspected. The workers were efficient and friendly. The place was like a beehive with all the activity. They got me in and out promptly despite all the activity. Thanks for the great service.
Its not often you find an honest group of people in this world. I have to say these guys could have easily charged me through the roof to fix my issue and I woulda have paid it. However the staff identified and fixed my issue and we're HONEST. I was amazed at how well these guys treated me. Will definitely be comming to them for and of my repair needs going forward. Thank you guys keep up the great work
Had my vehicle in to work on the frame and when I came to pick it up it wouldn't start...
they tried to diagnose and after months of giving me the run around finally gave up trying to figure it out.
They then charged me $500+ for "diagnostics" or they wouldn't have released the vehicle. Its a great business stratedgy for anyone, no car knowledge needed.
When I called a different mechanic shop and explained, the first thing they said was "let me guess, Big Dogs right?"
They had it diagnosed and repaired in 2 hours...
Save yourself time and money and skip this middleman. $500 for a shop recommendation is wild. Makes me nervous about his lemons, cough cough I mean used inventory.
Great service very fast very reliable. Was traveling out of town when my car broke down. Called BigDog and they picked up the phone right away and had it towed, in the shop, and fully fixed up within 24 hours. Very reasonable pricing too. I would trust them anytime.
Bought a 2008 chevy Silverado for 5000 dollars from them after the 30 day state warranty went off A check engine light went off.Truck also rubs and makes weird noises I'll have to spend money to make this truck right.Ill never buy here again or recommend this place to anyone
i have never been here but i saw the owner's youtube videos and the responses here to the negative reviews and they're absolutely gold so i figured this place deserves 5 stars. keep up the good work!
Todd was very brave for running into the burning house across the street to save a family of 7 and their 4 dogs, would never recommend any other dealership. This guy can do anything from rebuilding your transmission to replacing the coolant in your fridge (although he refused to fix mine, I don't blame him). An absolute stand up guy.
Big dog motors has had my car for over 3 months. They have yet to call me or update me. Poor communication and lack of professionalism, will not be me using after I get my car back.
***Update it has been well over a year. It is now 3/15/2022. Still not a word of contact from big dog motors. Still has my car, spoke to them in December stated the would be brought back so I can pick it up to junk it. Contacted attorney. Stated, “better of abandoning the car than dealing with them ” just shows what type of business they run.
7/4/2024 big dawg motors has still yet to call me about my car. I’ve abandoned it and reported the plates stolen 2023
I am very pleased. I dropped my vehicle off to have everything fixed on it two days ago, they did a fantastic job and didn’t charge an arm & a leg!! My vehicle feels new again . Thank you very much I will be coming back again.
I refuse to bring my vehicle any other place in the valley except big dog motors. As a female I’ve been taken advantage of or lied to about the degree of work my car has needed at times in the past by other shops in the valley. Big dog motors & Todd have always treated me great and done right by me since I started going to them. Never tried pulling one over on me. More than fair with pricing & always have gotten my car back the same day with all issues addressed & fixed. Super friendly & best service around. 10/10 recommend for all your car issues & servicing.
The owner is absolutely awesome. He is the type of guy you can joke with like he has been your friend for years. Will go no where else but there. Thank you for the shirt.
Can honestly say that we ha e never had a problem coming here at all. They have always helped us out, been very reasonable with prices, and told us upfront what was wrong and what the price was before they ever charged us anything. To top it off, about 2yrs ago my boyfriend had a red dodge 250 that really needed work and they even gave him a ride home while his vehicle got work done to it, and idk if they still do this but allowed him to make payments and didn't charge him an arm and a leg for what had to be done to his truck. I recently took my 2002 jeep to them and they looked it over and just told us what was wrong with it. They didn't do anything that was unprofessional and the staff was great including the clerk. Have also rented a uhaul from them and I thought the service was amazing. I hear what other mechanic shops say and what others say but still I have not run into a problem with them at all. In fact we think they are great and they have always been there to help us! These are great people and they do great work and really go out of there way to try and help you, so I truly don't understand what all these cruel comments are.
I have never been to this shop, or used their services, but the owner's replies to review bombs are hilarious. If I'm ever in NYC and my car breaks down I'm calling this dude 100%. 10/10, would share a beer with him.
Big Dog Motors is the best automotive shop in the Mohawk Valley. I own 3 vehicles, each with over 150,000+ miles on them. Big Dog keeps them running strong with reasonable pricing! My 2007 Land Rover in the photo was declared "totalled" by the insurance company. But thanks to Big Dog's auto body expertise that 13 year old vehicle looks brand new again. From body work to collision repairs to mechanical work to maintenance to purchasing tires, Big Dog Motors is your one stop shop!
Awful place and would never recommend to anyone, went there before (and the last time), was overcharged for a job that was never complete. I'm sure he's going to reply and have a slick comment, but the fact remains that I only found out after, there are MANY people very unhappy with the services of this business. (Heard this from other mechanic's and people in herkimer and surrounding regions, not to mention the negative reviews on his site) if the proper work wasnt done, DO NOT SIGN THE INVOICE!! That was my mistake. After Big Dog Motors, I brought my car to another mechanic who had to tear out all the wiring, and do the job right for half the price they charged me.
2 star because at first it seemed like a decent deal. Bought a vehicle from them. Not willing to negotiate on the price at all even when you're paying cash. Point out the flaws and they same it's common with those makes. That doesn't make it right. Still won't budge on price. Unfortunately I needed a vehicle I could drive right away and Corona had DMV by appointment only so I bought from them cause the vehicle looked good and looked in good shape. They did some body work which I figured would be good since they do that there. Nope. They just paint over the rust to sell. Did some mechanical work on it like brakes and stripped every single stud lug nut on it. It wasn't a real bad purchase so to speak but it showed me never to have them work on any vehicle I own. I might have got lucky on the vehicle not having too many problems. But the way they covered up the body work and the way they stripped every single lug I would never do business with them again and I tell everyone not to do business with them. Not to mention the fact that they're overpriced on their vehicles and won't work with you. Now that the DMV is open I can shop around and will. He (the owner) might say I never bought anything from him because he seems to comment that alot but I most certainly did and will never do it again.
Sitting in the parking lot after a CarCo photo inspection. Never left a review before, but this experience was so good I have to. Fast amazingly friendly, and beyond reasonable (won't get into detail, but they won't charge you for BS)

I don’t know exactly what Big Dogs didn’t repair but they got my truck going and it has carried me beyond the 350k mark. It’s a 2004 Chevy S10 that wasn’t supposed to leave Idaho but look where she’s been. I couldn’t have broke down in a better place; thanks y’all, that’s all I’m saying. Respectfully.
He got my sister in a vehicle with in one hour of being there. Credit all done car picked out. Offers a extended warranty threw a company that covers everything for a year and only $100 copay. Will definitely recommend him to all my friends and family. A very friendly crew.
Absolutely top notch business but more importantly top notch people! Never rips you off, helps senior citizens! My Mom will ONLY go there! Dependable, reliable and honest I highly recommend this company!
