I called 2-13-26 to make an appointment. I spoke with a technician and told him I needed to change a master brake cylinder. Marcus stated sure drop it off and we'll take care of it next week. I ordered part and had it on the seat of the vehicle. When I dropped the vehicle off on 2-15-26. I was expecting that part be put in land have my brake system bled from air.
I called this morning (2-17) at 9am and asked Larry what his plans were for my vehicle.
He said they are getting it in right now and he'll call me when it's done.
10:05 I get a call saying it was done and it didn't need a master cylinder.
Great news!
Then he tried to charge me 170.12 for 1 hour labor
($95/hr) and a bottle of $15brake fluid.
A job that doesn't take more than 30 mins (reference any auto mechanic).
I specially asked for that part to be replaced.
He tried to convince me that he was charging more for labor because he had 2 guys working on it.
1. Then it should have taken half the time
2. I shouldn't be charged more than $95/hr just because he had 2 guys on the job.
It's fraud. Period.
He wouldn't give me my key so I called police.
The police have the report.
I called Gills SPoint auto in Malone and they laughed. Never heard of such a thing as charging more for 2 guys on the job.
Maybe one of them would have known that master cylinder has a MAX LINE. It was completely full without any room for expansion. I needed to remove fluid myself and still got charged!
Completely Unprofessional!
Last I knew my Business Law teacher taught me this is deceptive marketing practices.
We made an appointment for our snow tires to be put on. The service was excellent and the tires feel great on the road. We are ready for what winter may bring. The waiting room is comfortable and the team of mechanics are all friendly and ready to help.
Larry and his team were fantastic. We were from out of town, staying for Labor Day, and our car ended up having some serious issues. We found them through the owner of the cabin we stayed at, Northwood Cabins. Not only were they able to get us in right away, they were able to fix enough of the issues to get us back home safely (3 hours away). They really went above and beyond. Driving out for parts and keeping us informed. I felt they were very honest about our issues, and they also gave us recommendations of what else to have looked at when we made it home.
We can't thank you enough for choosing to prioritize our needs that day, and in no way did you make us feel like we burdened your schedule. We were very grateful to have been treated in a caring and genuine way. It was an emergency situation, and you really helped save our trip.
Our engine light turned off about an hour away from home. The car drove very well and we felt much safer. The engine light is still off as of this review, but we will definitely take your suggestions and have the other parts looked at.
We can't wait to visit the area again. Hopefully we won't need to see you, but if we run into issues again, we know we have a reliable place to go! Thank you SO much again!
My 93 year old mother took her car in because she heard a noise. They told her she needed a wheel bearing. I picked her car up for her today and on my way home had to slow down quickly for a flock of turkeys and found her brakes to be totally shot..
The invoice that she got had "general vehicle inspection and test drove vehicle;" on it. . If the mechanic that had a wheel off her car to fix a wheel bearing didn't notice the brakes and inform her that she needed brakes, he's not much of a mechanic. And if someone had test driven the car they would have noticed it needed brakes. Never again........
Traveling through area, discovered a coolant leak. Stopped in here late in day...they jumped right on it, and discovered a loose coolant hose. Promptly fixed it and added antifreeze, charging me only for the antifreeze. Great show, great bunch of guys! Thank you for your fast and effective service!
The prices and services are fair. I got frustrated with the responsiveness with fixing my vehicles then taking up lot-space. I feel like it went downhill from what Leroy pickering intended it to be.
I've know Leroy's Auto Sales and Service for nearly 15 years. I've been pleased over the years with their service. Their prices are acceptable and they have been able to get me in quickly too.
Two hours from home . Just needed my spare put on . Such nice guys ?they helped me out, offered a cool place to wait and also pointed out a local brewery where I could wait ( soft drinks available, don’t drink and drive) very clean shop and lot . They eased my worried mind , made me feel important. Small job , but it was everything to me. Fantastic customer service ?the rest of Tupper Lake should take a age from the book of Leroy ! ?
I was headed to Boston and I was about half way when my car starting having a lot of issues. No one else in town was willing to fit me in, they took the time to see what was wrong and fixed it right then and there for a decent price. Very thankful for them :)
Went to get an alignment and when car was finished I mentioned the muddy footprints in my mats and got serious attitude about it. Sorry I don't like my detailed vehicle getting trashed. Most garages put paper Matts down
