Love the new system of dumping everything in a bin. Employees could do better on keeping it cleaner. Smells awful. New mop, hot water mixed with some bleach for floors would be a good start.

Easy to return bottles with the trough and conveyor system. The staff are friendly.

I dropped off a 30+ lb bag of cans and bottles for recycling a month ago. They have not called, so I have attempted to contact them 10 times since. They do not answer the phone. They do not call back. This would certainly bother me if I were the manager or owner of this fine establishment. As you know, I am forced to give you the one star in order to proceed and post this comment.

Have been there 4 times. Twice they were closed, stating they would return in 40 mins. The other 2 times, one of the machines was down and it was a considerable wait as there were a few people in, so I left. Update July 21, I figured I would try and stop by again. Website indicated it opened at 9:00, arrived at 9:45 and the doors were locked, 3 people waiting at the door ?. Last time I’m going there for bottle returns! Propane exchange price is great, if you are willing to wait for service.

It's Saturday at 1pm. Doors locked from 1-140 for lunch? I made a trip out here and no where online does it say you're closed these hours. Good business choice

Hours posted on google and on the door say open 9-4 on Sunday but they were not.

The Young Man working the store the morning of 08-24-2024 was amazing !!!! He helped unload our truck, helped with filling the bin and separating what was not refundable. This operation and its employee definitely deserve 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you !!

on their sign out front it said on Saturdays they are open until 4pm, when i arrived it was 3:30. plenty of time to return 3 bags of cans and buy propane. I saw people in the building returning theirs but the doors were locked. The lady working, dark hair with glasses, was extremely rude, opened up the door and told me she is not taking anymore people and slammed the door in my face. I went up to the door again to ask why since it says they are open until 4pm and she told me that it’s because she didn’t have anything done to close at 4pm. I understand that everyone has a life outside of their job, but don’t advertise that your open until 4 if your not going to stay open until 4.

So, never been to a proper can and bottle return, but I must say I was incredibly impressed. The staff were wonderful, the machines incredibly quick, and I was out in 10mins. Keep in mind I had two large, heavy duty trash bags full of returns and had planned for at least 40mins. They had me out quickly, friendily, and with a smile on both of us.

Great automation. Fast and painless. Second time coming here (Sunday at 11am) and cashier was really friendly…even helped me out with some of the bottles. It’s a tough job…don’t forget to tip!

I'm only posting because some people are so lazy and cry so hard about dumb, easy things. People all you do is empty your own cans and bottles, get a ticket and get money. It's easy, easy for our convenience, yet people still complain and are still lazy and still expect people to do everything for them. Omg a person was rude to me, well, if there miserable so what, your not there to make friends, your there to get your money and go. If you can't return cans and bottles on your own or without complaining a redemption center is dirty or smells weird imagine that, a place that takes people's old smelly cans, smells and is hard to keep clean. Stop being lazy, stop caring about other people and do you.

I won't ever return here ever again after the treatment I have received. If I could give 0 stars I would but it won't let me..5 mins before closing the guy says he is done. Hello it says on her to 4pm not 3:55 that's false advertising. If u wanna close early then it should be on here the correct hrs. It's not like I got there like mins before closing. Unfortunately yes I had lots of bags. I'm disabled on oxygen whose had heart surgery and u tell me we close down 5 mins before... I will never ever use u again. I found one thats in the village that's actually stays open til 7pm not no 3:55..not happy

Very convenient for customers. I like it, but I am not sure a female employee at the Lancaster, NY site likes her job there even though she doesn't have to seperate and count every can/bottle anymore. I was there on Feb 14th approx 345pm. I had 12 6pks bottles and 4 large bags of cans. I emptied all as I thought I should only to be reprimanded for creating bottle jams on the feeder conveyor belt because I wasn't laying the bottles sideways on it. Then she proceeds to take all the 6pk cardboard that I placed in a garbage can out of the garbage can and tosses them all on the floor and tells me thats not a garbage can. I should have left them all on the floor for her to pickup for being so rude. Instead I politely asked her where they are supposed to go, picked them all up from the floor and put them in a corner that she pointed to "saying they go where all the other cardboard goes". I left w $34.00, leaving her a $1.75 tip (not much but I could have left $0). Your welcome. 1 star for customer service and another star for her hoping she really finds a job she enjoys someday.

We used Cash for Cans Lancaster location for a recent school fundraising event (June 2021). From the first day I called to inquire about the fundraiser, the workers at this facility were helpful and easy to work with. They were able to answer all my questions since this was the first can and bottle drive fundraiser I had participated in. Our fundraiser yielded awesome results and the process of having the cans counted and redeemed was quick and easy, despite the extremely large (over 30,000 collected donations) order we dropped off at their location. Within 3 days, our bottles were all counted and redeemed. I worked mostly with the manager Dylan but all the staff were friendly, courteous and easy to work with. I was thanked each time I came to the store for giving them our business. They worked hard to get through processing this order. I received regular calls and updates as the counting was completed. I was impressed with their professionalism and their easy to work with nature. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a place to take their bottles and cans for either personal orders or if looking for a place to bring donations received through a can or bottle drive fundraiser. I was more than pleased with the customer service I received at the Lancaster branch of Cash for Cans. I am glad I was able to support this business within my community. Definitely give them a call!

First of all Dylan is awesome! I had 12 bags of water bottles and he told me to bring all of them in! He was great and we had a nice conversation. Everyone working there was really nice! Thank you all for making this one chore of mine bearable! I would totally recommend going here! I'll be back!

This location used to be absolutely terrible but they got all brand new staff and management up in there and it's been so nice and refreshing to go there since the change over. If you haven't been recently, you really should reconsider. The staff are friendly, prompt, and courteous. They even added more sorting stations to accommodate a larger volume of customers.

I recently went there for the first time ever and the manager, Dylan, provided amazing customer service! There were no customers there when I arrived. I had TONS of bottles and cans. Dylan sent two workers out to unload my car while he started counting. He was very personable and efficient. Other customers came while I was there and they were treated as courteously and as quickly as I was by the other staff. I will certainly go back.

This is the cleanest, friendliest redemption center! I stopped returning bottles because usually these places are just grungy and I always have my kiddo with me. I decided to give this place a try and I was so thrilled with the customer service and cleanliness I commented to the gentlemen working. It even smells good! Give it a try!

This cash for cans has taken on new management and you can see/smell/feel the difference. I was greeted when I walked in and even asked if I had more bags. In the past i would only take 1 or 2 bags at a time otherwise the employees would get upset. I had a great conversation with the manager and told him I really had a great visit. So happy with the change and thankful I don’t have to use the self serve machines at the grocery markets! This Cash for cans is a great stop, a complete 180 from where it was a year ago

I just had a great experience here. There is a new manager, he was very nice and the place was clean. The best part is there is no limit on how many bags of cans you can bring in. I brought 2 bags in at first and he told me to go out and get all of the rest. They are also taking glass bottles.

New management and it definitely shows. Dylan was super friendly and extremely fast counting our $61 worth of cans we saved up during quarantine. Much cleaner and were treated 100 times better than pre-covid when it had different workers. Recommend for fast friendly service!!

So annoyed! Will NEVER go here again and I suggest no one else does either I will be contacting better business bureau! I don't know how they are in business in Lancaster! I took two 45 gallon garbage bags and two 13 gallon bags full of cans they told me my order was too big and leave it to be counted and come the next day to pick up my money. I went for the next 3 days and they never counted my cans! When they finally did they completely ripped us off and only gave me $12! I know for a fact there was way more than $12! Never going here again!

When the store opened last year, I was pleasantly surprised but it has gone down hill ever since! I have gone there 3 times during the day now and they were closed during stated business hours. The first two times there was a sign on the door stating the employee was at lunch (they are down from 2 workers to one guy!) and today the guy saw me with my arms full at the door and would not open because it was break time. Secondly the cleanliness is at zero now too. Not sure why I even went back today because last time there was garbage all over the floor and it stinks. Pretty soon it's going to attract rats or roaches! If the owner can't find more employees than he should be in there himself. It's a pigsty and I wish it wasn't in my neighborhood. Good concept, terrible execution!

Staff was extremely unfriendly and clearly in a hurry to get out of there. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that we came in a half hour before they were supposed to close. Just about five minutes after we walked in they locked the doors but still had to let customers in, since they were not closed yet. Definitely wouldn’t recommend them. We usually go to the place on broadway across from tops but they close at 5. We’ll never make that mistake again.
