Shared some delicious barbecue and wings with friends. The brisket was perfect, the sausage amazing and the wings were flavorful and cooked just right. Very friendly and enthusiastic staff. I’m happy to see them doing well. Keep up the great work!
Made the 40 min drive to check out this BBQ and it did not disappoint. I went all in, and bought the 3 meat to try it all, with the Mac'n cheese and shoe string french fries. I was even able to try the baked beans and potato salad from my companions. There was a good smoke on the brisket and when I combined it with the Mac'n cheese, it was great. Highly recommend. You can grab and go too since there is not a lot of seating. Dont forget the homemade desserts, the Banana pudding was delish.
This is my mother-in-law's grandsons restaurant. I stopped in and got lunch for his grandmother and aunt and they really loved it and it was really nice experience the people there really really really really really really really nice
I recently had the brisket quesadilla from Brickyard BBQ, brought to me by my aunt as my first meal after surgery, and it was absolutely perfect. The brisket was tender, smoky, and full of flavor, and the quesadilla was perfectly crisp and melty. More than just the amazing food, it felt like a little bit of love and care from Lafayette, which made it even more special. In a time when I needed a boost, this meal reminded me why I’m proud to be part of such a close-knit, supportive community. If you’re a fan of smoked BBQ, this place delivers. The brisket is absolutely on point—tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. The sides are just as good: the beans are rich and well-seasoned, and the mac salad is fresh and hits perfectly alongside the BBQ. You can tell everything is made with care. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.
We rolled in a little later on a Sunday, which meant the BBQ side was sold out of quite a few things honestly, a sign you’re doing something right. The setup is a bit of an adventure at first (multiple buildings, BBQ on one side, tavern on the other), but here’s the pro tip: you can bring food from the BBQ spot straight into the tavern or order from the tavern menu, which features their BBQ meats as well. Once you figure that out, you’re golden.
We ordered the turkey club, and wow piled high with their smoked turkey, plus mac & cheese and beans on the side. Everything was delicious, comforting, and exactly what you want after a long day.
The real magic, though, was the atmosphere. The tavern is welcoming, lively, and full of character. We had the best conversations with both staff and fellow patrons. Case in point: when we first sat down at the bar, the guy next to us insisted we try a slice of his quesadilla. No hesitation. No expectations. Just pure “you need to experience how good this is.” (He was right.)
We also chatted with the bartender I believe she was the manager and she was absolutely lovely. Great conversation, warm energy, and made the whole experience feel extra special.
All in all, fantastic food, fantastic people, and a memorable experience. We can’t wait to come back earlier in the day to get the full BBQ lineup and maybe make a few more friends along the way.
OMG!!! The homemade sausage is to die for (and I'm not a sausage eater!). Smoky rich flavor...this was truly amazing. The brisket was delicious, tender, with a a nice bark. The pulled pork was great too. We tried the mac and cheese and baked beans....both were good. There is limited seating, there are just a few tables. We were there for lunch on a Thursday at 11:30, the place was hopping with both to go orders and those dining in. The Brickyard Tavern will need a larger space before long!!!
I travel 46 weeks a yr all over the country and have had BBQ in many states / cities. This is hands down the best BBQ I have ever had! My favorite was the smoked turkey, but all were excellent. The super friendly & helpful staff were top notch as well . We also took advantage of their bar next door to eat at and have a beer with our meal!
My wife and I went foe a bite to eat on New Year's Eve, and had a fantastic time. The food, service, and staff were all top notch. I highly recommend, and cant wait for my return visit.
The staff and atmosphere made this a good experience form the start, the food made it even better.
When my wife and I arrived, we were quickly greeted and told we could sit anywhere there was a seat. A server came over quickly and gave us the "rundown" on the menu. There are technically two different locations for food. One side of the menu is the "BBQ" food selection and it was explained that if we wanted anything from that menu, we just need to walk over, order it, and bring it back over. No problem, we wanted stuff from the other side of the menu anyway.
We ended up ordering simple bar food. Onion Rings, Chicken Tenders and wait...what is this? Brisket Quesadilla? Yes please!
The food was incredible, with the clear winner being the Brisket Quesadilla!
Highly recommend you at least give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!
My other half and I really enjoyed our visit here! Food was great and we didn’t wait long at all for it, also the barbecue sauce was so good and Amy was a phenomenal bartender!
4th time customer now, just my kind of spot. Down to business, affordable, good smoked BBQ. Gives any BBQ I’ve had a run for its money, 10/10 recommend
Have gone twice now and both times food and service has been great! So nice to see the attention to detail and how hard they work to make sure their food is top notch. Will be back!
A friend of mine and our children came in to eat about 6 o’clock on a Saturday upon walking in we realized it was absolutely freezing inside no heat at all, I asked the girl at the counter what was going on and she said they were not able to get the heat working. We had a baby with us that was only a couple months old. Another family next to us had a newborn space heaters would’ve been nice at least. I ordered a brisket sandwich, which was made of about 70% fat and brought it to the attention of the girl at the counter and she just kind of gave me an oh well attitude said I should’ve asked for lean… The mac & cheese was not bad, but because it was so cold in there it was cold within 60 seconds.
Stopped in for BBQ and overall had a good experience. The brisket had solid seasoning and good flavor, and it was tender and moist — but a bit on the fatty side for my preference. The turkey had nice flavor as well, though the portion felt smaller than expected. Potato salad was okay with good-sized potato chunks, just not particularly standout.
Food was served hot, the place was clean, and service was friendly. I’d come back again,

The staff is lovely and interactive. We got the loaded Bloody Mary. You can order BBQ from the other building and eat it in the tavern. The tavern itself has a smaller bar menu. I will be back to try the brisket quesadilla!
We also brought BBQ home. (The tavern and the BBQ are two separate buildings).
Great food and friendly staff. We had the ribs, chicken wings, pulled pork and all the sides. Everything was amazing!!! Was worth the wait. The place is very popular and you can see why when you take your first bite!
It smells amazing when you walk in !!! To address the negative review on the wait time, it's worth it, the food is authentic, from the meat, to the sides so "oh no you have to wait". Seriously where can you get BBQ that's authentic in upstate NY? This I heard is a new business so of course it is going to be on the smaller side. We came at 11:00 am when it opened and there was a line. Had Dr. Appointment in Syracuse so we came for lunch. Best choice we've ever made. If you have ever watched the cooking shows and said boy I'd like to try that BBQ and you live in NY go here you won't be disappointed!!!!
The place was packed: line around the whole interior and every seat filled. I got the trifecta (sausage, ribs, and brisket) with fries and mac n cheese and it was amazing. I wanted to finish it all but I couldn’t eat that much at once so it made a good second lunch too!
This was the best BBQ in Syracuse that I've had so far. The wings in particular are better than Dinosaur. And that's an big comparison but an easy one after you try them. We had the wings, sausage and brisket. The sauce was incredible and the staff is so friendly. Definitely an 11/10!
