I am driving my 375,00 mile 1996 Volvo 850 R Wagon home from YYZ to PHL. Just outside of Perry, NY I need some emergency auto help.
So - 3 miles down NY Rte. 20A - I pull into Brians USA Diner in Mt. Morris to have my every visit BLT. I ask Chef Sam if he had any ides / suggestions on who could help. "I close in 20 mins. - meet you outside & follow me."
Chef Sam takes me to his friends at Basil's Repairs in Perry, NY. I have never been luckier to find such a place.
All of my life I have been fortunate enough to have been around cars in many different scenarios and countries.

Took my Traverse in for tire replacement and they got it done in a decently quick amount of time. I'd say something like 45 minutes in and out. Amazing people down there at Basils. I'd suggest em to anyone
Basil's has a work ethic that that is hard to find anywhere else. Thank you to Basil's for getting my car done quickly for emergency repairs in their very packed schedule!
I have used their services several times, for both big and small jobs. They did a timing belt and water pump replacement on my wife's vehicle and were able to beat the dealership price by a wide margin.
They also were able to procure tires for my car and price was under the quote from Sedam and Mavis.
Oil change and differential fluid changes were hassle free.
Prices are great, the work is done correctly, but the best part may be the customer service. Everyone there is super friendly, attentive to details, and asking the right questions. They know what they're doing. Would absolutely recommend and they will get future business from me.
We were camping in Letchworth in a trailer when our engine light came on in our truck. We needed a mechanic to look at it but the Chevrolet dealership was booked for two weeks. The dealer recommended Basil's auto repair. We called and they said bring it in, we'll try to squeeze you in. Once in the door, his wife told her husband the people from Michigan are here. He came out with a code reader and checked our engine, checked the oil level, asked a lot of questions. In the end, he reset the code, said if the engine light wasn't flasing we were okay and he didn't charge us a penny. It was such a relief since we were so far from home and the Basil's owners were so professional, friendly and thorough. Thank you so much. I would recommend this place to everyone.
If you live within 50 miles of Perry, NY and you need bike service, this is the place!! They treat you like a KING!! Specializing in HD but don't be afraid to bring them your metric. Great service and personnel. 2 👍👍 up.
They’re great people over there! They’re all very nice and professional. The best thing is they’re not going to charge you for things your vehicle DOESN’T need just to make more money off you like some places here in Perry do (I won’t mention names!) !! They’ll also work on motorcycles, Spyders, 4 wheelers, side-by-sides etc!
My family and I moved to Perry a few months ago. I needed my car fixed and had no clue where to go in the small town. I went on Google and Basil's repair came up. I thank God it did. The owners wife was welcoming, not expensive to get my car fixed, and its right down the street from where we live.
Al really knows how to treat his customers an takes pride in his work an takes care an values you like you’re family, highly suggest any work especially exhaust work for all there work is done in house!
No integrity. Had my wife take our truck there for a radiator replacement. After the work they did failed our truck overheated and now the head gasket is blown. When I called to try and get some answers and see if they would make this right they told me, "don't even go there" and hung up the phone. Dont waste your money. Take your car somewhere honest where they will do the work correctly.
Absolutely awesome. Nicest people around. Had an appointment on a Thursday and showed up 2 days early. And they couldn't have been nicer about it. Looking forward to my new exhaust on bagged s10
Very disappointed with the service. Came to them since they have the highest reviews in the area, however, in reality mechanic wasn't that good.
I had a bad leak in one of the power steering lines but wasn't sure which one and didn't have time to look closely. Mechanic did diagnostics and charged me for that, which is totally fine. Also suggested to order the part, which I did. The fun part started after. The cost of the line ended up being $166, while the same exact part in the same store costs $125. The first time they ordered the wrong part so I had to wait until the next day (car was sitting since I didn't want to damage the pump). The next day I picked it up and since it was a weekend I have decided to replace it myself, however, it was a wrong line. So after spending 15 minutes under the car and another 15 minutes with the chart I finally ordered the right line which costed me $40. The question is what kind of diagnostics this mechanic performed?
The car ended up sitting for a week waiting for the right part.
Fast repairs, trustable workers, with Basil's Repair I don't have to worry about how they will break my car more so I come back to spend more money which some people believe to be a thing, me I say it wouldn't surprise me but not the point if you need your car fixed then Basil's is a great place to go
