We were stranded with our 36’ long 5th wheel trailer on the shoulder of 87 South. Thank goodness our TPMS warned us that we had a flat. Sitting there waiting for help was stressful to say the least. NYSP arrived and it seemed that drivers were moving over. Jimmy from Robert’s showed up and put his life on the line changing our flat tire on the driver’s side of our RV. We were back on the road in no time. Thank you so much! As for the rest of you zipping by, MOVE OVER AND SLOW DOWN! It’s the law!
Roberts towing is the number one place in the northeast for any recovery breakdown short time trailer storage. They even went to fill up my reefer trailer so my load didn’t go bad i recommend them all the way from Cincinnati!!!!!!!
These are scammers. My truck ran out of fuel on the toll road and this Hillbilly was sent to get me fuel. After he filled some fuel, the truck wouldn’t start because there was air in it that needed to be pumped out. While I was inside the truck, he went and opened the fuel filter cap and removed the o ring from it. That meant no matter how much you pumped there would still be air and the truck would start but then shut off and then he could have a reason to tow my truck because the towing service was from his company which is called “Roberts Towing and Recovery”. He came and told me he called tow truck to come and tow my truck without asking me first. I told him I’m not towing and he said he’s going to tow regardless. I told him I will call a tow company myself. He got aggressive and started threatening me by coming close to my face when I kept telling him he’s not towing. His job was to only bring me fuel but he was acting like he was a cop with authority. This hillbilly called a trooper who came and right away sided with him. Seemed as though they knew each other quite well. The trooper said you can’t be on the road and have to be towed. I found out later that I could stay on the road for four hours but these people didn’t even let me stay for an hour. They forcefully towed the truck and left my trailer at their fenced yard and took my tractor to a nearby truck stop with mechanic shop which was closed till next morning. The didn’t even put back the drive shaft in place after the tow. They charged me $1798 for 30 gallons of fuel and towing about 10 miles. In the morning I went to mechanic shop and they said they can’t work on it on that day and called a roadside assistance who came. After telling him that it wouldn’t start even after pumping, he opened the fuel filter cap and said your o ring is missing that’s why it’s not starting. I was charged $310 by the new mechanic for putting back the drive shaft together and putting an o ring. Went back to the yard to pay for the tow in order for them to let me take my trailer. He wouldn’t take the company card info I had with me and wanted the physical card which I didn’t have. I have always paid for all my repairs that way without any issues. Tried using my own personal card and kept declining. He got aggressive and started cussing me and my religion and cussing Prophet Mohammed. I recorded everything on my phone. He showed right away how racist he was. He said I should be happy he didn’t charge me for leaving the trailer at his yard which I never told him to bring it there no gave him permission to tow. I had to call local police to come because he was threatening me. Again to everyone if you need help on the road, Do NOT call these inbred hillbilly scammers. They won’t help you and steal your money.
This place is full of liars and people who are sexist. They damaged my wheel and then denied right to the person who came to pick it up even though there is camera footage of the wheel being perfectly fine before it was it was towed. Legal actions will be taken.
I must say my dealings with the Staff at Roberts Towing was very pleasant. They towed my car after an accident on the highway, which was stressful to say the least. They were genuine, accommodating and very professional. I’m appreciative for their kindness and support.
My experience with Roberts Towing was excellent. The team was very professional treated me like a good person, I would recommend Dave and his team to anyone..
Guys are racist. I had my truck towed tonight. Since I asked a few question about their charges and the reason for it they said I was arguing with them and said I wouldn't pay. End up bringing me to their shop and called the cops. They told the cops I was arguing and said I wouldn't pay. I never once said that. Listen to the reviews and STAY AWAY FROM THEM.
They come 6 miles cops calls them then charged 250 for coming when My Company never called them. My trailer Brakes locked up and started smoking even a small fire happened. My company called a company to come do the repairs on a trailer
Then wanted to charge me $20 dollars just to write me a receipt for the Original 250.
Worse company I ever dealt with i usually don't companies but this by far is the worse company i dealt with. Even my employers are blown away by this craziness
This place is ridiculous, and the reviews confirm this. All the 5 star reviews are from the company themselves. I called in and some condescending bafoon decided to talk to me and quoted a ridiculous price of $350 for a ~5 mile trip WITHIN Albany. My truck broke down literally down the road from them, no more than 2 miles away. I was forced to go with them as their only competitor had no truck available. They clearly take advantage of you as they dont have many people to compete with
My dad and sister went to get her car that was towed. They made my sister sign before even seeing her car, and when she finally saw it, it was destroyed. They syphoned all the gas out of her car, her front bumper was ripped off, and they left all her windows down in the rain so everything was damaged (She did call and ask to come roll them up to which she was told she wasn’t allowed to, but they didn’t put anything on the car to protect the inside). Her car was not in this condition when it was towed whatsoever. My dad got in his truck because he said what he needed to say (obviously he was angry), and the guy tried to get in the car with my dad to go after him, ripped his door handle off and threw it at him. Cops were called and the police ‘couldn’t do anything due to not being able to prove it’. Really? Not right at all. Don’t give these people your business. They should be shut down.
*EDIT: The company was just arguing with me on a Facebook because of the poor review I gave on there, claiming they were attacked. But, my dad never raised a hand to anyone, but he totally was the one attacking you guys even though he got his door handle ripped off and thrown at him because the guy was trying to get in the car to attack him, all because he can’t handle another man yelling and voicing his concerns? Riiiight. Unprofessional and liars.*
My car was towed here after an accident. I called and asked if they could tell me about the damage. They refused and was charged$265. Oh, and they're not open on the weekends but you still get charged for those days. They're not very nice people.
Roberts changed my fifth wheel tire on the NYS thruway on 8/5/2018 by Albany NY and they were there with in 40 minutes of my call and the mechanic was very polite and helpful. Nice people and company.
I read these reviews and I am not sure what happened but my experience was 200% incredible. I called the night before and they suggested I call back first thing in the morning (my tow was not immediate as I explained). I called first thing in the morning and they locked a driver for me. The driver called me and notified me when he was 15 mins out. I met him there and to his surprise, it was a very crappy situation to tow out from. BUT, his proficiency and technical expertise was above par. He had me out of the weird position and on the bed of the truck in about 6mins. He delivered it to my house, made a turn into a very limited vision and narrow driveway and I was finished. Paid the man, and deal done. Beyond professional.
Roberts Towing gave us immediate service during a stressful breakdown, they stay'd in contact with us thought while we were at a safe location off the highway. The service was outstanding with a state of the art truck and you could tell a very experienced driver. They had our vehicle to the dealer for the repair and we were back on the road. I would recommend Roberts to anyone.
Had a break down on a friday night, and got in touch with Roberts Towing. Seemed really nice and told me to come at 8:30am on Saturday and they will take care of everything. When we came in they told us that they never worked on saturdays and that we are either lying or heard incorrectly about the appointment. Terrible experience
I've never felt so disrespected by any business before. I'm a struggling small business owner myself and I invested in a 14' box truck for my business. It fell apart mid-ride while helping a friend move and wound up at Robert's. I called to see what it would cost to get it towed to my house, and if we could work out a deal for also getting my pickup out of the mud by my house in one trip. I was told they'd talk to the boss and get back to me. They never did so i followed up and kept being told to call back. I finally talked to someone just now who told me that it would be $500 for box truck alone and several more hundred for the pickup. He asked if that was more than i could afford and i said yes it was and i only had a few hundred to work with total. He said he'd talk to the boss, then came back and said it was going to be $700 for the box truck alone. Yes, 200 *more* than he had just quoted me. I tried to reason with him and point out that if i could afford 500, i obviously couldn't afford 7. he said "you act like that's my problem. This is a business not a charity." and hung up. Oh he also told me i can't get my friend's stuff out of the truck if i don't pay them.
So, if cost is no concern for you and you don't mind doing business with people who take advantage of those who are down on their luck, Robert's is the company for you. If you're on a budget and you hope to be treated with respect, I'd avoid them.
These guys are dishonest thieves and should not have a business license. I've had to take them to court over their made-up charges. I'd sooner recommend that you push your car where it needs to go rather than have them tow you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help me out when the starter went in my truck. Not only did you answer my call at 4:30 am. But you helped me get to work with not having to wait long and I still made it on time. You have a great response time and respectable people working for you and I appreciate everything that you do around the county and outside of the county. Thank you very much and I hope your business continues to grow as great as it is now but greater and time.
All these bad reviews are coming from an upset family who lost a member. They are now HARASSING this company for doing their job. It's childish and immature. If you use Roberts towing you already know how great a business this is. The best around.
Worst company ive seen. Over charging for a job done for 400$ less at another company. They are dishonest and disrespectful not only to the people who want to be towed but to their family and friends. They messed up big time and they even had to delete their Facebook due to hate. They posted about the situation and then deleted comments and bad reviews. If I could give 0 stars I would.
These Guys are thieves. I used their service today to have my car towed 3 or 4 blocks and they charged me close to $200. I have since checked with competitors who quoted me prices in the range of $75-$100. In addition to an obscenely high charge for my tow they did minor damage to my vehicle while unloading it from the flat bed. Only call these guys as a last resort.
