Attention Truckers!!!! This is a very tight place to go in and out with any type of trucks, if you have a 53” trailer combination park outside and walk in there is a very nice and helpful gentleman that will assist you and guide you in and out of the scale. Confidata is in the same place.
I had a small problem. I spoke to the staff in charge today. It was a great conversation, and I have more knowledge On what to do with silver. Overall, it’s a great place to do business.
I am not a scrapper full-time however I do try to do my part in Recycling and a few extra dollars helps with the budget. I have used a couple other area yards in the past, in my opinion none have come close to this operation, the yard is clean and the staff is knowledgeable and willing to guide you in how to receive the best price for your scrap. Although I only go a few times a year, I brought in a couple loads just yesterday, and they remembered me by name! That's the kind of friendly professional, and fair treatment you can expect from this group.

For 53’ truckers, please ask for help before entering in this place, this is a tight driveway and if you don’t now this place you will hit the wall and steps,
Ask for help to pull at the scale too and back at the dock. No overnight parking
Quick, polite, efficient and easy. Had some old PC cases (no hard drives in them), a printer and a battery backup. I was naive and wasn't expecting to be paid for them. Very pleased. THANK YOU!

How nice are they? When I pulled up, the staff was trying to ensure the safety of a baby squirrel discovered to be living in the yard. These people are terrific. And yes, they take all kinds of scrap metal!
I was new to scrapping 20 years ago when I first came here (it was Hudson Metal then) and these guys are as helpful now as they were when Empire Recycling took this spot over. Best prices in town for Tin, ICW and especially Aluminum. Never any B.S. or drama. Guys on the inside scale are informative and helpful, even in single digit temperatures. For certain items, I would never bring my scrap to anywhere else. A+
I was given basically nothing for the scrap I brought. It was more of a waste of time to bring it. The staff was friendly though!
Edit* When I arrived I informed the staff that it was my first time there and needed direction on what to do. They told me to go to the scale, then unload, drive back on the scale and proceed inside. I was then given money for the scrap I brought. The staff paid me for only the tin I had brought. Which was minimal. There was other metal such copper and cast iron that I was never paid for. So either the staff was intentionally trying to take advantage of a first time customer or I as the customer am expected to haggle with the staff. Because no one told me to tell them the metal I had brought in, I'm not sure how I would avoid only being paid for tin when there is copper and other metal mixed in. Either way I think it's a shady way to conduct business when a new customer is only told to weigh in then go get paid inside. It feels like an intentional way to maximize profits. And by saying you give the best prices around is like the 1000 pizza places in NYC all claiming to have the world's best pizza.
Went for the first time everyone was so nice and very helpful. Super fast service and good scrap prices will definitely go back and recommend to everyone
This is the first place i ever visited where all the workers are very friendly and helpful . The entrance is bit tight but the employees will help to get on to scale and Back up
One of the most organized scrap yard I've been too. They're quick and efficient and there's no issue paying. The staff are VERY good at what they do and they're pretty quick at sorting and getting to the next customer in line. Highly recommend empire recycling for all your steel, copper, brass, aluminum etc.
I dont do scrap recycling often, but i think i have been to each place in/around Albany. Empire was by far the best experience, the employees were super helpful, and i was in and out very quickly
First glance,place was organized,neat and as clean as I've ever experienced at a recycling yard. Secondly the staff in the unloading area and in the office were most professional. When I discovered Mike White was employed it made a whole lot of sense. See you soon.
Great services , i would recomend over all other scrap yards in the area(alot better experiance then Ben whitsmans). No hassle returns, best payouts, friendliest staff you could ask for, usually no to very minimal wait. I plan do continue business with empire recycling for years to come!!!
Went there for the first time the other day. Was impressed by how helpful and courteous everyone was. I was a little green at sorting out my load and the guys were great and actually helped me not lose out on things I was going to miss! Thanks again ! I will definitely be back!

Wish I knew about this place sooner. Easy in and out. Guys knew what they were doing and very helpful with a new comer. Plus it’s closer to me than the other places. I know where I’m going from now on
I come here few times .the guys are really kool. they welcome you well even if you got a few items to scrap. and help you grab the stuff from your truck. no BS. no attitudes. just a grate place to get a few bucks for your recyclables!
