My VW had a tire that was going flat, so I took it here based on the great reviews. These guys did not disappoint. Nice, easy going and fast. The price was way cheaper than the dealership and better service. Highly recommend these guys.

I was charged $30 more than I was initally quoted for an oil change. And I was told needed new front breaks about 50,000mi before I should be do for new pads. That being said the service was fast and cominication good, I just felt taken advantage of

He behaved very rudely, we were waiting inside his office for them to check our truck and tell us if they could fix it or not and he came and chased us out and told us that we couldn't wait in his little waiting room We should go to a park. Dude, we're your clients, we're going to pay for the work. What's wrong with you?Terrible customer service. The worst in life.

Called with an emergency tire issue at 1 on Friday and they said tough luck.

Gotta love that a mechanic doesn't know how to put a key fob in the ignition to start a car lmao. Maybe staff turned over because they once also completely lifted out the engine and rebuilt the water system and rebuilt AC on the same car and did a good job.

I called the shop shortly before they close as I was headed into town from the Jemez mountains, where I had picked up rather large bolt in my tire. I was really hoping the shop could squeeze me in and get the tired repaired in the last 30 minutes that they were open. I had long journey to finish out this evening, with business in Santa Fe, and ultimately my final destination about 30 minutes south of Albuquerque. I had my young son with me and limited support in the area so a trustworthy tire to get us home safely was high on my list. Fortunately, the gentleman at the shop were empathetic and helpful. They fixed the tire quickly and got us on our way safely for a reasonable price. I appreciate their time service.

I was surprised how fast they were able to get my A/C Compressor replace. Less than a day and did not try to up sell for anything I did not need. Thank you

They do an awesome job! They get it done fast and very fair price! They made sure everything was looked at and safe before they called for me to pick up my car. Best automotive service I have found anywhere! Thank you for your help fixing my car today, I get to drive home tomorrow :)

This shop does excellent work! Only place within a 100 miles that will change the oil on my Ford E-450 6.0 L Diesel.

I've had multiple positive experiences at this shop! Their services are reasonably priced and very well done. I've had my brakes replaced by them and I've had them fix some electrical issues caused by another shop; both times, my car was returned quickly and in excellent condition.

Showed up early in the morning after a night shift dead tired, they got the work I needed done and had me on my way home in just over an hour. Thank you RPM Automotive.

Eric always kindly answers my questions and I’ve always had good work done at a reasonable price. And always impressed with how quickly as well. I’ve had many services done here over the years and 0 problems.

I brought my car in because it was squealing on starting. They discovered that it had to do with the clutch. Then the cruise control wouldn't work. By the way, my car is manual transmission. They got it working! THANK YOU THANK YOU

This is a shop that is excellent at diagnosis of problems other mechanics just shrug their shoulders at. Actually getting to the root of a problem, rather than papering over things, or 'Lets Try This' on the customers dime, is the difference between a standard shop and a great one. RPM meets this expectation in spades. They are a 'First Come, first Server' shop, so your best bet is to get your car in there at 7:30am, and plan on picking it up later. Small jobs like oil changes are usually done in 2-3 hours, so drop off in the morning and picking it up at the end of the day is a reasonable expectation.

Highly recommend. I thought my car needed some front suspension work, after driving over a pothole. Shop checked everything, found nothing wrong. Good honest service. They did point out some water pump leakage.

Eric was fantastic. Our car wouldn't start after a couple of cold nights, and he squeezed us in since we had to leave for a 1000+ mile multi-state drive. He checked thoroughly despite how busy he was, and didn't charge us since he didn't find anything and he doesn't charge for an estimate. Whatever the problem was, he couldn't find it and it didn't recur and we made it home safely. Thank you Eric!

Would not recommend. Had front brake pads replaced, drove home and found one of the pads coming loose with a bolt missing and the remaining bolt loose. Checked the wheel lugs and they had not been tightened down either. Very dangerous! The lack of care and irresponsibility of not checking the work, is inexcusable. I had to find a replacement bolt in Santa Fe, and fix the pad myself after paying them money to do a simple job. I would give no stars if this was an option. They offered a oil change for the inconvenience, but I would not even trust them to do that either.

Gentleman was willing to help when my transmission linkage came loose. Great help by coming to where the car was. I am thankful for both his attitude and assistance.

Wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy there. Found out Kelly doesn’t work there anymore. That’s who I requested to work on my vehicle. Talked to Eric and he convinced me to have them do the work saying that they are more then happy to do the work. Terrible experience and workmanship. When I picked up my truck it was unlocked in the parking lot and now it rides worse then it did when I brought it in. Now my truck is in a shop in Santa Fe being fix again that they claimed they fixed. Now I’m paying for another alignment which they claimed they did and I need new tires cause the alignment is worse then went I bought it in

I just had one of the worse customer service experiences of my life with this company and I'm not one to leave a 1-star review for a company unless it is really bad - especially a local small business. Thursday morning I had dropped off a set of 4 wheels and tires at RPM to get them to remove the tires from the wheels with the plan of meeting a guy Friday afternoon to sell the wheels. RPM had mounted the tires on the wheels without issue so I wasn't hesitant about getting them to remove them. I had dropped them off and picked them up in a hurry which my fault, otherwise things could've gone a bit differently. When I was cleaning up the wheels for the buyer, I noticed perfect circular scratches in the finish all around each wheel with 3 different spots where the scratches went deep enough to remove paint and a nick in the corner of one edge. Now, I take really good care of every car I own - both cosmetically and mechanically. I can point out every imperfection on them that the average person wouldn't notice - and I would've noticed those scratches before I had brought them in. I called up RPM and told them what I had thought happened (got scratched during removal) and he said he didn't see how that could've happened but to bring them in and he'd take a look. I brought them in and told him while I can't say with 100% certainty they had scratched the wheels, it is highly unlikely I wouldn't have seen them before I brought them in and the perfect circles around each edge is very typical of what is seen when precaution isn't taken during mounting/unmounting of tires. I wanted to know if he really thought the shop hadn't done it. He showed me the machine that removed them and said only a plastic piece rubbed up again the wheel - and said "it probably did scratch them." His solution? Silver touch-up paint and to refund the cost of removing the tires - $49. As a car enthusiast, this is a ridiculous, ghetto solution at best. Not only is the solution temporary, but it is sloppy when you get close enough to the wheel. Your average consumer might not care but for someone like me this is a joke. I asked about if they had anyone that could refinish/resurface the wheels with missing paint but he said that they didn't do that. He just wanted to be done with me and reluctantly refunded me $49. I knew I was screwed because I had only taken pictures of one of the wheels for the buyer and that would only help for one wheel - and who is to say that wasn't the one without paint missing anyway? A proper business owner would've corrected the damage they had caused to a customer's property. Hell, when I bought my last car and had the dealer swap the wheels that were on them, they accidentally scratched them but immediately corrected the mistake by calling a local business and having them refinish them within 2 hours. I was delayed a couple hours but made right. They didn't just shrug and act like it wasn't their problem. $49 does not make up for the money I lost selling them damaged. Each wheel alone would've cost at the very least $50 to refinish and for the chipped paint wheels closer to $100. I have no issues with them accidentally damaging the wheels - mistakes happen all the time, and I've experienced this exact issue before. The biggest problem and why I will never return to this shop is due to the way the problem was handled. I'll be taking pictures from now on and taking my business elsewhere in Los Alamos or one of the many options in Santa Fe.

Had a very strange and frustrating experience with RPM. I called to get an estimate on how much it would cost to replace my tires and I mentioned that I would need the new tires by the following Tuesday for a trip I was going on. He said that he could get the tires in by then, but that he would have to look them up and call me back. He didn't call back for several hours, so I called again towards the end of the day (this was on a Friday) to see if he could order the tires. Again he said that he'd have to look them up and call me back. He didn't call back, and by then all of the businesses in Los Alamos were closed, so I couldn't even order the tires from somewhere else in town, and I had to make the drive down to Santa Fe over the weekend to get the tires. I find it strange that he couldn't find the time to place a simple order like this, especially considering the time constraint that I'd mentioned, and I also think it's odd that he didn't call me back either of the times that he said he would. I'll give RPM two stars in case he actually did have good intentions but was just very unreliable.

My 2006 Ford Explorer died at the intersection of 38th and Diamond in early November. I had it towed to RPM. They told me it had a broken hose and that they replaced ALL the hoses, added coolant and that it was good to go. It never ran right after that. At first it ran rough. Then it wouldn't idle. Then it began dying at stop signs and stop lights. Then the temp gauge began showing it was hot and I started adding coolant. I called rpm and explained this to them and asked if I could bring it in. The person I spoke with was very rude. He told me that nothing I told him made any sense and I could bring it in, but he had 70 other vehicles to work on. I had only asked if I could bring it and leave it so there was no pressure from me regarding getting it back quickly. Based on how rude he was I decided to take it to Glover's Auro Parts, since I had heard good things about them. When I started it up the next morning blue smoke er poured from the exhaust and I turned it off immediately. I could smell antifreeze coming from the exhaust. My son-in-law told me not to try to drive it so I had it towed to Glover's. Here is what Glover's told me: The first time it had to be towed it had blown a head gasket. RPM not only did NOT replace all the hoses as they claimed and as they charged me and as I paid for in good faith. They either failed to detect the blown head gasket (REALLY? REALLY???), or they knew it was blown, replaced a couple of hoses, added coolant and sent me on my way knowing they would see me again when it completely stopped running. Either way they were greatly negligent or greatly calculating. This is not the first time their diagnostics have been suspect. But it was the absolute last time they will get any of my business or that of my family. This is a small town and word of this sort of negligence or opportunism, whichever applies, will get around. Maybe they thought I was just another gullible old biddy. Not even.

I went in for a routine oil change and to have them check some minor cosmetic damage to my vehicle. The price was very reasonable, and they didn't try to upsell me or request to do unnecessary work on my vehicle. I don't have any complaints.

Trying to find a mechanic as straightforward and fair as these guys in my new location has been hell, so even though it's been a while I wanted to give a good review. They were always always always very flexible with their schedule, fair with their prices, punctual, and never tried to upsell anything. I lucked out, get your car worked on/serviced here if you're living in Los Alamos

Transmission went on my 2006 Toyota Rav4 and I had just met Kelly, the owner, a few days prior at the Bathtub Row brewpub. He had bought me a beer and invited my wife and I to his annual St. Patrick’s day party. So, I looked up his business online and saw lots of positive reviews. Called them up and got an estimate for replacing the transmission. Opted to have them do the work and have been extremely satisfied with their work. Got it when they said it would be done. Highly recommend this business. Glad to have a local garage/mechanic that is good and trustworthy. Hard to find!

My friends and I were on a road trip through New Mexico when our newly installed brakes started making some really terrible sounds. RPM fixed the brakes an hour before closing at no charge. I wish I lived closer to Los Alamos so I could use them again!

This is in my humble opinion the best shop I have come across in the state. The level of talent amongst the staff is far beyond what one may expect at an independent shop. More importantly, everyone there is kind, honest, and fair.

Brought my car in after I thought the battery died. Ended up being a loose connection, which they corrected and returned my care to me without charge (because they said they did no work). Excellent service!

My grandfather has a 1985 Lincoln and he had some problems with the lighting system and the machinists at the dealer were the car was purchased had no idea how to fix the problem really what it was they did not wont to spend the time on trying to fix the problem for a long time customer such as my grandfather was!! RPM in Los Alamos took the time to find out the problem with the car and solved the problem in a timely manor!!! I recommend this company for anyone that is looking for a company that adds the personal touch and that is a Small American family ran Business that you don't find anymore.
