Wasn’t able to return a windshield wiper 5minutes after purchasing when I realized that I could get the same wiper for less than half the price 2 miles away. Didn’t even take it out of the box or anything. Terrible customer service and the guy was very rude

Update: Wonderful follow up. There was an issue with my lights post-install and it was caused by a PepBoys tech during install. Rosa was so kind to get me back into the shop asap, diagnose the issue, and has been working with me to order the correct parts needed and assisting me with the whole process from top to bottom. The process is not over yet, Rosa is still helping me find a cap to prevent moisture that was lost during the initial install - but after that we should be good to go! Original: Rosa was helpful when getting new headlights and fog lights for my jeep grand Cherokee. I had spare lights at home the tech was able to make work, and then I bought fog lights from them. Good service

Friendly staff and an overall great experience at Pep Boys! The manager, Rosangela, is especially pleasant and welcoming. I really love that they send courtesy text updates so you can follow along with the status of your vehicle, plus a complimentary vehicle inspection report with photos — super helpful and transparent. Their lounge is also very comfortable, which makes the wait much easier.

I was told replacing my tires & a wheel alignment would be a one-hour wait. Well, one hour turned into 2-hours with no explanations and no updates on my vehicle. After 2 hours, I was told there were 2 recommendations that the service rep was unable to provide price quotes for them.

It took 16 days for my car to be repaired. The issue was initially misdiagnosed - the wait time for parts was too long and I was not readily made aware of the status. Horrible and costly experience.

Worse place to buy tires when it comes to fixing a flat you pay for insurance but they will fix it when they want to. Nothing but a scam and if you go there make sure they apply any discounts because they forget to apply them to your bill. Never again.

I had an appointment booked for 8:30 to get a flat tire serviced. I showed up at 8:15 and was told that none of the employees showed up to work. When asked when I can expect them to show, Mike (the only one who came to work) told me they were supposed to be there since 7:30 so he has no idea. I waited until just before 9. No one showed up and I ended up going down the road to a competitor who was able to get me in and out, on the spot. Mike was helpful but that’s about the only positives I can give. When all of your employees fail to show up to work, it’s not an issue with your employees but with the management and culture at the store.

I had an excellent experience at Pep Boys Tire Shop! From start to finish, the service was outstanding. Sebastian, the technician who worked on my car, was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure the job was done right. My car is running perfectly thanks to his great work! A big thank you as well to Roselle, the Manager, for her professionalism and friendly attitude. She made the entire process smooth and stress-free, and truly went above and beyond to help. It’s rare to find a team that delivers both great customer service and high-quality technical work. I highly recommend this Pep Boys location — I’ll definitely be returning for any future car needs!

Best Mechanic's Shop EVER. It was time for an oil change and a tire rotation. My Lincoln had been running rough, and as we used to say before computers ran our cars, it felt like it was "missing". I assumed they would suggest a couple of additional services (but at other shops in the past those suggestions were usually air filter, etc. NJ nothing that ever made alot of sense to me or that I would necessarily notice after the fact) so I hoped the auggestions would make sense to what I was feeling when I drove the car. They suggested an alignment and fuel injection and break cleaning. Mhhhmmmm, sounds like those things would specifically address my concerns. Give. The coming of winter, I didn't want to screw around, so I approved the additional work, especially ially after they let me know that if the cost came to $500 before taxes they had a store coupon for $100 Off! They were busy and I still got my car back in about 3 hours! So got most of my Saturday back to boot! Drove away FEELING the difference in the alignment and acceleration - WOOT WOOT! Shout out to Rosa, the manager, who makes us, the customers feel welcome while making sure we're taken care of! Merry Christmas Pep Boys Auto Service in Roselle! I had an appointment at 8:30 a.m. for an oil change. I waited three hours without any update on my vehicle, so I went to the customer service desk to ask for information. The person at customer service, named Rosa, was on a phone call . I stood in front of her for about five minutes and she did not acknowledge me, greet me, or ask how she could help. Instead, it was her coworker Mike who approached me and asked what I was waiting for. He then went to speak with the mechanic, and that is when I was finally informed that they were supposedly waiting for a filter. This is unacceptable and very poor customer service. It is not reasonable to have an appointment, wait several hours with no communication, and be ignored by the person who is supposed to be assisting customers.

I came in for oil change at 10 am and I was and still sitting at 2:28pm. Nothing has been done. Ok give me my car and refund my money they can't do that. This has got to be the worse service ever. This guy Anthony was so rude and pissed me off more. All you just had to do is apologize for the delay not say go somewhere else which I plan on doing .

Hello, This was my first time ever using Pep Boys for any service after visiting the Nissan dealership, where I felt they were trying to take advantage by recommending unnecessary repairs. When I called Pep Boys for an estimate on my brakes, Michael answered and immediately stood out — he was honest, straightforward, and provided a rough estimate without trying to oversell me. He also invited me to bring in my car for an inspection. When I arrived, Michael remembered speaking with me, and Sebastian — who worked on my vehicle — carefully reviewed everything that was wrong. I even showed him the list Nissan had provided, and he explained that many of the items were not urgent. He and Michael focused only on the issues that truly needed attention. Sebastian did a wonderful job completing most of the necessary repairs for under $2,000. Michael was incredibly helpful, patient, and took the time to explain everything clearly. Both of them were professional, honest, and trustworthy. I truly appreciate their excellent service and will definitely be returning to this location for future maintenance needs. today i was helped by Antwone. i was able to get their last appointment for a tire change/alignment and oil change on a sunday. he was very friendly and was able to get a discount on the tires for me. i would come back again in a pinch.

ZERO Stars!!!! Stay away from this place!!! I went in for new tires. I knew that this place was a scam as soon as they called me into the mechanic's bay to tell me that my car needed an oil change and struts and blinker fluid, etc. They intentionally broke some bolts on my wheel bearing and said they have replace the whole piece. There is no way in hell that I would let these clowns do any real mechanical work on my car beyond putting on new tires. Their scam didn't scare me. I do all my own mechanical work. I cancelled my tire purchase, took my car home, and fixed what they attempted to make look scarily damaged for under $10 and 30 minutes of time. I then went elsewhere and bought even better tires later that same day. I recall that on my way out of the Pep boys shop, I heard some other mechanic upselling some woman and she was naively agree to their claims. Stay away from this place. Mike and Rosa will work together to RIP YOU OFF!!!

Rosa the service advisor here is amazing. Seriously. I usually don't leave reviews but the way she handled me was excellent. I just needed tires replaced and she walked me through the process and helped me make the right purchase and for the best price point. She even called back next day with an estimate that I requested on brakes. She is the reason I'll be going back to this specific pepboys

I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service the team in Pep Boys Roselle NJ, extended to me this past Sunday. I went to get my brakes done, and a few other things as well. They were courteous informative and very accommodating. To get your car fixed in one day and find pleasant excellent service is a super plus. I certainly will be coming back again when I need to service the car again.

After spending an hour on the phone getting the run-around from other shops, I gave PepBoys a call. Rosa was so pleasant and so helpful on the phone! While I understand some days can be busier than others, Rosa insisted I come right in. She and her staff took care of my brake light so fast! They were so friendly and so helpful. I’m glad I gave them a call and have already recommended this PepBoys to local family! Any future service, I’ll be back :) thanks Rosa !

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Pep Boys in Roselle. I was told over the phone that the tire I needed was in stock and replacing it would be no problem. After waiting over four hours, I was informed they couldn’t get the tire after all. To make matters worse, they refused to change my tire simply because I wasn’t paying out of pocket—it was covered by insurance. Cesar, the manager, was unhelpful and dismissive throughout the process. However, I want to acknowledge that the gentlemen at the front desk were courteous and professional. Bottom line: If you value your time and expect honest communication, I recommend avoiding this location at all costs.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The service used to be great. I have been a customer of Pep Boys since I got my Honda HR-V in 2021. I have been going to the same location in Roselle Park, NJ for almost 3 years now for every single service that my car has needed from oil change to getting new tires to replacing my brake and brake fluid including a full maintenance package I got 6 ml this ago. It is with a heavy heart that I write to you today because I will most definitely not be a customer of this brand moving forward after the events of today. I went for a regular oil change for my car,I went two weeks ago for my husband’s car oil change and I paid 104 which makes sense cause he has a Sports Mustang 8 cylinder, I have always paid less than his oil changes for my car and ever since I’ve been at pep boys I have actually paid 65 dollars for my oil change thanks to a coupon that was available in your app, after the coupon disappeared a couple months ago I got another oil change for which I paid close to 80 dollars, which makes sense since I didn’t had a coupon anymore but I was glad to pay because your service has always been fast and reliable, well…until today. I dropped my car at 8:30 am with an employee by the name Mike (that’s what his uniform said) he was not very talkative and kind of annoyed that I was there to begging with but I didn’t thought too much about it cause it was kind of early in the morning and I’m not a morning person either. I went to pick up my car at 1:20 pm and to my surprise he told me that I had a balance of 117 dollars…what? I asked him why the price and his reply was “that’s the price” no explanation no nothing..I told him then about my history with pep boys and that I have been a customer for 3 years and always done my services here and I have never paid this much..I even told him about how my husband car service was cheaper which didn’t made sense..” don’t yell at me, it’s not my problem” was his reply. First: I wasn’t yelling, I work at a hospital with newborn babies, needless to say my voice tone it’s very moderate, and also, I don’t think that this is professional or a proper way to treat a customer or honestly any human being. I am not sure if he just disrespected and disregarded me because I am a women or because he just lacks work ethic and knowledge (since he couldn’t even explain to me why the price increase) but this events are not ok at all and I hope for the sake of your reputation as a brand, are not repeated in the future. As for myself I will take my business (and my money) somewhere else where they respect their customers and are at least a little bit constant with their pricing.

Beware of the free inspection. It is not a thorough inspection. When I went in, I was asked for my phone number, I gave them my phone number and my text messages were sent to my brother’s phone instead. When I went back in to ask what was going on, he said he must’ve selected the wrong phone number. This is a big privacy issue. On top of this, the suggested repairs were sent to me and it did not match the inspection results that I saw electronically. I had to call three times to inquire about what I was seeing on the inspection report and why everything wasn’t included on the repair breakdown paperwork that was emailed to me. Also, I checked my own cabin air filter before bringing my car in and knew it was really dirty and needed to be changed, however, it says on the report that it was good. That means they never even went in to check it. I also asked for the cabin air filter to be changed along with my oil and only oil was changed. I’ve been here before and I’ve gotten a better and more thorough inspection report and everything went smooth. This time was horrible from start to finish.

This pep boys center is as bad as the reviews it has been given. I can not fathom how upset I am by the service and damages this center has caused my car. To start off my car was left on with the heater on at 80 in the sun for over 2 hours. I noticed this immediately as my car makes a beep noise when you unlock it. When confronting the person working the desk he went back in to speak to his crew which were his manager Carols, and an additional member. When walking back I was told that the car was left on 20 minutes and that they were incredibly sorry. I had explained what they did was not ok and that I was upset but no additional things were said for their error. When reviewing pictures and video tapping that is when I had really noticed that the car was not left on for “20 minutes” but rather in fact 2 hours. I had my husband call back and speak to the manager Carols but when the manager was told that there was a dash cam he admitted to the incident and stated that there would be “compensation” with services such as oil changes and other additional things. Carols also stated that he would be giving a call back on 3/26/2024 to speak further about the incident. However, services can not fix this as additional damages have been found to the car. The car's roof is dented and there are various marks with the body of the car exposed and the paint scratched off. This almost looks like there was a bar that fell on the car as the other side of the car has additional markings parallel to it. There's pictures of the car Prior before it had came in. There is a dirty glove mark in the car and evidence that shows someone was in the back of the car when there was not a service requested for the inside. I've contacted corporate and have contacted my insurance with the advice that if pep boys corporate does not fix this then there will be legal pursuit for damages. Please do not come here as I have came here numerous of times and have always been met with my car being in the shop for an entire day for an oil change and additional hassle that have been swept under the rug. -10/09/2024 Just wanted to update my review. I never received a call back or any compensation even from cooperate. The total to fix the roof and additional cost was 450.
