For the price of this place you would expect alot nicer abominations. If your looking for a quiet weekend save the money and stay home. Kids everywhere even in the hot tub and sauna. And now after reading other review I see that the property still hasent addressed issues other people had. Although the pool area is nice its ruined by the hords of noises kids.

Stayed at Crystal Springs suites 2x within 6 months because we loved it so much. The ambiance of the rolling hills (last time covered in snow) the friendly staff, indoor pool woth beautiful natural greenery. Food is really tasty although slightly expensive. Will be back for sure!

Crystal Springs advertises "Girlfriends Getaway" and other adult getaways but in my opinion this is false advertising. Other than the spa, there is nothing geared towards adults visiting without children. We were 4 adult women looking for a relaxing getaway. They have a steam room, Sauna and hot tub with signs stating "Under 18, not permitted". Well, we sat in the sauna and were joined by a group of underage children. We then went to try the steam room and again children as young as three with their parents came in, the steam room quickly turned into a playground. The hot tub was overridden with children as young as 2. If you go with children this would be an ideal place to visit. The room was nice, the food was good but for 4 adult women this was not worth the drive or the high price tag attached. The highlights of our 2 night stay was the DJ at Kites and the Cabaret show at Cascades. Both evening events with nothing to do during the day. Another note to mention, Crystal Springs does not provide transportation to and from each of their locations (3 miles apart). We did not want to drive over to the other site and asked if Uber was in the area, they replied that Uber doesn't come to the area. We were given a business card for a taxi/limo service for our transportation, were quoted $30 each way for a 3 mile trip. I went outside for a puff and met an Uber driver, he said he would charge us $10 each way (no brainer), we used him instead. If you are planning to go without children and do not golf, this is not the place to go.

I took my family to crystal springs for 4 days and 3 nights and honestly it was a huge mistake. It felt very much as if we were “othered.” Firstly the local area where the resort is located is very telling. When my family and I went to the local bagel shop and supermarket not only is people stare and gawk but it literally felt as if we were no longer in NJ but rather a small town in Mississippi. Very scary. The hotel itself was disappointing. Our first night there we ate at the Crystal Tavern and it was a mistake. The hostess, a young girl who looked college aged clearly did not want to accommodate us. She was very standoffish. When she seated us right by the door and we asked for another seat she refused to give us another table although there were other tables free. When we stood our ground and requested the next empty table she was visibly angry and very rude. Additionally the food was terrible and overpriced. The roasted chicken was terrible, the bread for the table was burnt! The only good thing was our waiter was very polite. We paid over $200 for a meal that was both disgusting and terrible. Secondly the 2 pools were overcrowded. Although the website states pets are not allowed on the resort, One guest was allowed to carry his dog in the pool area unleashed and into the pool. The dog continually ran up to other guests, sniffing into bags and discarded food plates. Additionally, There was smoking at the Vista 180 pool which was rude and unhealthy given that some people have smoke allergies. Our room was not cleaned on day 3. When we asked the front desk to arrange it and left the room for 3 hours to accommodate no one cleaned the room. I have stayed at many resorts nationally and worldwide and tried to not judge this resort from that perspective. However based on my experience, I would not recommend this resort. The pictures look much better than the actual reality and the service and food were horrible.

On August 8th 2025 I booked 2 rooms at Crystal springs resort. One had to be a handicapped room because I use a walker and as I took Belinda the booking agent I must have a stall shower and bars in the bathroom. She assured me that the room was available on the dates I wanted Aug 29th to Sept 1st 2025. On August 29th at 2 pm we arrived at the resort where we were shown what was supposed to be our rooms. Neither was handicapped. We were kept standing there until 6 pm with different so called managers and many stories that were different but it was obvious that there was no handicapped room. Standing for that period of time was exhausting and I tripped on my walker. My head arm and we're bleeding profusely. I had to be brought to the Newtown medical center where I had 8 stitches to my forehead and a battery of tests. I contacted the hotel when I went home and after several phone calls I was asked to send the medical bill. I had paid fomy eyeglasses that had to be replaced but I only asked to be reimbursed for the hospital. Michael an employee called and to me to send the bill. I tried faxing it but it didn't go through to the number he gave me. This happened 3 times. Finally I just mailed it to him. He called and said they were sending me a release. I had to sign it to get a reduced payment. It came I signed and haven't seen anything. Now my mails and texts are being ignored. This resort can't be trusted. Realize that this going on from September to February.

I am currently staying at Crystal Springs with my mother for what was supposed to be a peaceful and relaxing getaway. Instead, this trip has been profoundly disappointing and frustrating. We are staying at the Cascade Lodge, which is advertised as a more adult-friendly environment. That claim is completely misleading. Our initial room was a connecting suite next to an extremely loud and disruptive group. We requested a room change specifically because we came here to relax. While we were moved, we were then informed we would need to move yet again — and once again into another connecting suite. In less than 24 hours, we have been forced to move rooms three times, which is unacceptable for a resort of this caliber and price point. The property is overwhelmingly overrun with children. From the hallways and restaurants to activities and the pool area, there is no escape from the noise or chaos. We were told quiet hours begin at 11:00 p.m. and that there was “nothing they could do” about the excessive noise beforehand, which is astonishing for a resort that advertises relaxation and luxury. Although the spa services themselves were pleasant and the staff kind, the relaxation amenities were severely lacking. Time in the Himalayan salt room was limited, and while there was a steam room in the locker area, there was no sauna or dedicated mineral pool separate from the biosphere. They do not enforce the rule of children not being allowed in these areas. We personally experienced serval groups of children coming in and out of the steam room, sauna and hot tubs in the biosphere. Afterward, we asked if there was any adult-only space on the property where we could unwind, only to be told there is no designated adult area and that this was simply a busy week for families. This experience is especially upsetting given the significant amount of money and time we invested in this trip. For couples or adult groups seeking a quiet, restorative experience, I strongly advise against staying here. While the property is visually beautiful, appearances do not compensate for the lack of thoughtful accommodations and misleading marketing. There are absolutely no adult-only areas, despite advertising that promotes bridal parties, couples’ retreats, and romantic getaways. Based on our experience, those claims are difficult to take seriously. We will not be returning to this resort, nor will we recommend it to anyone.

The resort is beautiful and the staff are fantastic. We stayed in one of the queen bed rooms, and the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and hard. The walls are very thin, so we could hear screaming children overnight in the rooms next to us and in the hall at all hours. The front desk staff were lovely and upgraded us to a suite, which made a huge difference in our experience. The king bed was much more comfortable and the suite offered some reprieve from all the screaming, but you could still hear some as the walls were still very thin. The biosphere in concept is cool and the actual structure is beautiful, but it was so crowded and filled with loud kids and their drunk parents not paying attention, that we were constantly being splashed, kicked, run past, and there were never seats for us. Even the hot tub and sauna areas that state they are for 16 years and up are not monitored, so there were small kids in those areas at all times as well. The experience in the pool was about a 1 out of 5. The food was meh at best, but at least the serving staff were friendly and efficient. All in all, if you’re trying to have a nice romantic getaway, probably not your place and I would highly recommend finding somewhere else. If you’re trying to ignore your kids while you get drunk and let them run wild with no respect for those around you, it’s the place for you.

We had an amazing time during presidents President's weekend. Stayed in the 1bedroom suite. It was spacious, full kitchen, andwith a beautiful view. They had no microwave though. The pools and hot tubs were beautiful.

Beautiful resort with an amazing staff, but if you're looking for a couples get away or just don't want to be around a lot of kids, you may want to consider a different destination. Grand Cascades and Crystal Springs draws as many families with children as I'd expect to see in destinations specifically marketed to that demographic. Unfortunately, I booked Valentine's weekend here as a romantic surprise for my husband, having no idea that there was absolutely no where in the lodge besides our room that we wouldn't be dodging screaming children that seemed to be sugared-up and set loose to do whatever they pleased. We love kids and enjoy visiting destinations that draw families, but we had no idea this lodge was one of those places. Otherwise I would not have booked here for a romantic get away. We spent more time either avoiding kids running up and down the halls or making polite conversation with parents as their little darlings threw temper tantrums while mashing every button in the elevator. Kids will be kids, but parents still need to parent. A bit of screaming and running? Totally expected. But this whole experience was a bit over the top. Another very minor hiccup was the lodge originally put us in room 126. After being in that room only a couple hours, we went to the front desk to ask what we did to make them hate us so much. That room is directly over a car garage that has two heavy metal accordion doors that grind open and closed every few minutes. Loud and vibrated the whole room. Thankfully the awesome front desk attendant, Mike, switched us to room 303. Surprisingly quiet despite being next to the lobby. Not a great view, but at least we could sleep. We ended up leaving a day early and just losing the cost of the room because we felt we couldn't really enjoy the property. For the cost of the stay and lack of ANY adult only areas, we just cannot justify ever going back. But if you have a young family, this would be a great place for a long weekend! Clean, a lot of activities, and wonderful staff.

We just stayed at Crystal Springs Resort and were really disappointed. When we booked, there was no indication on the website that so much of the property and onsite activities would be closed. Once we arrived, we learned that most weren’t operating, and even some of the limited offerings that were supposed to be open were closed due to staffing shortages. There was consistent construction noise throughout our stay, along with intermittent burnt rubber–type smells, which completely took away from any sense of relaxation. Our room had several issues: the bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom door didn’t close properly, and the towel rack was falling off the wall. Small things individually, but together they made the experience feel poorly maintained. Service was also lacking. Staff seemed stretched thin, which I understand, but there was little communication or acknowledgment of how much of the experience was unavailable. Honestly, the only real plus was sitting by the fireplace, which was lovely, but not nearly enough to make up for everything else. Had we known how limited everything would be, we would have made a different choice. Beautiful property, but it fell far short of expectations.

First, props where they're due, the people are really nice and helpful. However. Really overpriced. The massage was simultaneously the most expensive and the worst I've ever had. Who soaks freshly washed hair in massage oil? I was just as tense after as when I went in. The shower wouldn't switch from rainfall to the handheld jet (broken) The biosphere pool's landscaping was clearly in need of a new maintenance company, and there was water EVERYWHERE on the flooring, indicating inadequate construction/drainage. Sorry, but no one should be standing in a puddle at a bar located half a story above the pool area. The bartender did not know how to make a Cosmo. The food was mediocre, at best. I can't believe I drove an hour and a half for this.

Our visit was overall disappointing. Aside from the pool and the genuinely lovely staff, it didn’t feel worth the price. Our waiter, Dan, was wonderful — he gave great dessert recommendations and was very knowledgeable about the wine, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food fell short. My fiancé’s steak was dry, and my short rib was very disappointing. For what we paid, the quality simply wasn’t there. The room was another letdown; the mattress was extremely uncomfortable — easily the hardest bed I’ve ever slept on. To add to the frustration, the coffee machine in our room didn’t work, and we were told at the desk that cash wasn’t accepted despite signs stating otherwise. These issues combined made the stay far from what we expected.

Spa service was amazing, the pool and hot tubs were the highlight of the trip! The outdoor hot tubl area during the snow storm was a core memory just wonderful, would 100% visit again in the winter time just for the pool area alone. Topical vibes fully covered and temperature controlled. The room itself needed some upgrading, bathroom was out of date and tub was dirty with hair. The phone in our room was out of order and the matienece took forever, when they did arrive they were unable to fix the issue, a few minutes later my mom noticed that it was simply plugged in wrong. The dinning options are somewhat limited, decent. The buffet is not worth the price at all. Didn't get to try any of the activities but the schedule looked well varied.

We stayed at Grand Cascade. The spa was beautiful and the services were exceptional. We used the grotto afterwards and were promised a serene experience, unfortunately there were small children running around the pool and in the hot tub. Dinner at Latour was amazing and the sommelier was very knowledgeable. Breakfast was in the emerald ballroom at the country club and was again filled with children running around and sub par food. Grand cascade should have its own breakfast area for those who are looking for a quiet experience.

I stayed here on a business trip, and this place is absolutely beautiful. While it is a higher-end resort, it is truly worth every penny. The rooms are set up like mini apartments, complete with a kitchen, stove, dishwasher, washer, and dryer. The amenities and service are top-notch. I especially enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace while watching TV in the comfort of my room. The outdoor grounds are stunning and very well maintained. The food was excellent, and overall I had a wonderful experience. If you're looking for a quick getaway, I highly recommend booking at Crystal Springs.

My family traveled to NJ for a wedding. We've been to NJ before, but not this area. We were EXHAUSTED after airports and could feel the "people" germs from the flight. Our room was so clean and I've never been so happy to shower. The entire resort was so beautiful and responsive. Outside of warm cookies and cold milk after dinner, it could not have been better. As a small town girl, I think people from bigger cities are hilarious. We had this woman, Angela, as our bartender and she matched my wit. Her positivity was great so we were so excited to see her again at a mixology class that I originally didn't want to go to but my husband dragged me to it. Angela made it SO fun and I highly recommend doing it if you have doubts. The fact that she remembered our faces AND names was remarkable. We were exhausted but she had huge energy. There were so many other great people there that helped us. I wish I remembered everyone's names. The whole weekend was great and I'm sure it'll be worth the "people germs" flying home. 10 outta 10, highly recommend.

False advertisement they promote 20 percent off on rooms if you book 2 nights. But when you go to check out the price is actually more than the package without the discount. Im reporting this to the better buisness bureau. Crazy part is the supervisor doubled down on these prices saying they are correct even after i mentioned 20 percent off is about 100 dollars off the price for 1 night. So please be aware of total check out price and what you are paying for before you book

I wanted to share what a wonderful experience we had while booking activities and reservations. We have not been to this resort previously and were a little concerned with booking reservations given we had a larger group including a mix of adults and children ranging in all ages. We called and spoke with Bryana B. Who could not have been more pleasant and helpful. She took the time to not only answer all of our questions but also shared the available activities, times and how to reserve them.

Room was super expensive for the quality of the room itself and be amenities at the resort. The pool was completely overcrowded and the small inside-to-outside pool was cold. The glice skating was hard to do and I’m good at ice skating… definitely not comparable. The room was outdated for that high of a price, the beds were super hard and uncomfortable, the walls were super thin so we had a hard time sleeping with all of the noise too. I shared my feedback after the stay and was told I should have said something while I was there to see what they could have offered compensation wise but that they couldn’t do anything since it was a few days after the trip.

Let me start off by saying that I love this resort and have been coming here with my family since It first opened. And I have visited during all seasons. My biggest complaints revolve around the winter months. During the summer there are multiple pools available with ample seating. In the winter though, the only swimming is in the biosphere and the adjacent pool but the only seating is in the biosphere. Typically, unless you get up soon after the pool opens, it is nearly impossible to find seats. During the afternoon you will typically see families standing around for a while searching for seats to put their belongings down and to rest. Considering how much it costs to stay at this beautiful resort it seams inappropriate that you can't enjoy the pool in the winter without having to stand around for a while for someone to give up their seat or to sit in a seat while seeing other families hovering over you waiting for your seat to open. It seems to me that It would be worth it to try to expand the biosphere in order to make more room for additional seating so that the patrons can relax and enjoy themselves. On a lesser note, in the summer there is a section off of the back deck with a pool table, pingpong tables and a foosball table. It would be nice to set aside a recreation room inside the hotel with similar entertainment for people to enjoy inside during the colder months. I also heard a rumor that a fourth restaurant might be opening besides, La Tour, Crystal Tavern and Springs Bistro to offset the restaurant crowds and offer additional options. That would be icing on the cake.

First time guest here, and this was definitely not a “December to remember.” I reserved a one-bedroom room for two guests that included a $40 breakfast credit told to me at check in is “dine-in only.” On the morning of 12/26/25, I asked the front desk where I could dine in for an à la carte breakfast, as I do not eat buffets. I was then informed that the breakfast credit only applies to the buffet and cannot be used for à la carte dining. This is disappointing and poor service. Not only does the credit fail to fully cover breakfast for two guests, but it is also restricted to one specific dining option. Won’t apply to room service either, no flexibility, and once seated, you cannot even order from a menu. If the resort is going to limit how and where a guest may use a breakfast credit, it defeats the purpose of offering one at all. A more reasonable option would be a package that covers breakfast for two guests in whichever format they prefer, something I am accustomed to when selecting similar packages elsewhere. Unfortunately, this resort does not offer such an option. Honestly, I would rather not receive a breakfast credit at all than be given one that feels this restrictive and, frankly, a bit insulting. I will mention my concern to the general manager Gemmy Dimitri as well as warn future guests online.

Art Walton and the entire team—Golf, Hospitality, Kitchen, Accounting, everyone! at Crystal Springs Resort are simply amazing! Planning an event here isn’t just an experience—it’s fun, relaxing, and truly joyful. They go above and beyond in every way, making you feel like so much more than just a customer. We starting working with them in 2014, and from the very first moment, it feels like you’re working with friends who are just as excited about your event as you are. A special shoutout to Chuck Webster—what a gentleman! His care, professionalism, and positive energy make all the difference. One more time, we left Crystal Springs with a huge smile, already wishing we could come back and do it all again. Thank you for everything, Crystal Springs team!

I surprised my Wife and took her here for our 2nd anniversary. My goal was to relax and for Wife to enjoy the water, even when there's snow on the ground....mission accomplished. From the time I made the reservation; the representative took it from there, even offered a military discount. All the staff we encountered were smiling, pleasant, helpful including a fellow veteran I met, who works there as an engineer. It reminds me of an upscale lodge but not so luxurious that it was bougie but clean and beautiful with stunning views. The star was the spa treatment and the pools, where we spent 75% of our time and I was really tempted to call out sick and extend a day. My only complaint was that the food and beverages are really overpriced. $7 for a bottle of Dsani water, so the option to bring your own food is t hr best route, understanding t hey have removed or do t have Microwaves in the rooms, even with full kitchens I will be back and see if it is even better In warmer weather

MOLD!!! I stayed here for one night for a wedding and it was terrible. The wedding itself was beautiful and the servers were amazing and treated us like family, but the hotel itself was awful. My boyfriend and I were “blessed” with the first room in the hallway right across from the elevator… which was very noisy to say the least. While I understand this is still a room they have to fill it was an awful location. Part of me thinks we were given this room, because we look young and they assume someone young would not care about quality. Which is where they’re wrong. When we first walked in, I was hit in the face with an old musty smell that over powered the room. After inspecting the room, I noticed the bathroom was full of black mold… disgusting. I was only staying one night and running late to the wedding. So I did not bother asking for a new room, due to the lack of time. When I checked out the following morning, the woman at the front desk offered to waive one of the room fees for me, which at the time I was happy with… until I looked at my credit card statement and they took off only about $7 and change … my health is only worth $7 to these people. I find this to be outrageous for such an “upscale” spa. Do not waste your money here!!

I just stayed at Crystal Springs Resort in NJ and unfortunately had one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. For the very high price I paid, I expected comfort, flexibility, and real value. Instead, I was shocked by how restrictive everything was: 1- Breakfast only starts at 8 AM, which makes no sense for guests who want an early start. 2- Pools open at 11 AM, but checkout is also at 11 AM, meaning I couldn’t use the pool at all on the day of checkout. When I showed frustration, the receptionist offered me just 2 hrs extension of my room to change cloths and not to use the lockers and bathrooms of the public’s at the pool!! 3- On the day of check-in, the pool closes at 8 PM, but check-in is only at 4 PM, so again, very limited time to enjoy the facilities I paid for. 4- The resort offered a “credit” to compensate, but it’s practically useless unless you book activities that cost 3× more than normal prices. So in reality, it’s not a meaningful compensation. Overall, I paid a premium price and received almost no value in return. I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I would not recommend Crystal Springs Resort unless they fix their scheduling issues and start offering guests fair access to the services they’re paying for.

Loved this place, great old fashioned vibe and service. Only there for a few nights, but at the end was relaxed like we were there a month. The suite was nice with a large private patio. The spa was fantastic and the biodome was perfect. The restaurants were good, the food was good, but not the best I have had. We were still satisfied and would go again.

Five stars all around, this resort is family friendly with great amenities and an amazing breakfast that really deserves 10 stars... me and my wife were celebrating our anniversary here and the staff is not only well trained, but friendly and super accommodating, especially the front office director Nicole Sisco who is amazing! Highly recommended!

I am so beyond disappointed in this hotel. My husband took us for my 40th birthday. I had been wanting to stay here for years. The day finally came and he booked a beautiful one bedroom suite. However the bed was rock hard and I ended up with a migraine the entire weekend. The other big complaint I had was the treatment of the guests like we did not matter because it wasn't "busy" season as I was told by the front desk. Restaurants were closed. The only place to buy water closed 40 minutes early. Archery is not in walking distance you have to drive. The beautiful outdoor pool that I had seen on photos was so tiny and a little bigger then an outdoor hot tub. The front desk woman literally told me that I needed to come back in December if I expected to have access to everything because that was when they would be busiest again. I looked at her absolutely floored. Pricing does not reflect this. It is still beyond expensive and I am just so disappointed to have wasted so much money. I would much rather have gone away. This place is such a joke and when I reached out to management they shrugged me off as well. I would absolutely stay away.

I recently visited Reflection Spa for facial, and I couldn't be more impressed. The spa itself is very clean, with a calming and relaxing atmosphere that immediately set the tone for a rejuvenating experience. My esthetician Liz M. was incredibly knowledgeable about skincare and took the time to explain each step of the facial process. She really took care of my skin using high quality products that felt gentle and nourishing. The entire treatment was incredibly relaxing and after my skin felt fully rejuvenated, refreshed and glowing. The feet soaking with champagne and chocolate after the facial is a great bonus that spa offers after each service. I highly recommend Liz M. at Reflection Spa for anyone looking a professional, relaxing and effective facial experience. I can't wait to return.

I stayed for 3 days at the Cascade Lodge with my sister for a girls trip. We spent 2 of those days at the spa and that part was AMAZING. The staff and services at the spa were wonderful. The resort property and hotel was well maintained as anticipated. The staff in the restaurant and hotel were polite and friendly. The really disappointing part was the food and noise level. There was a large wedding there on the day we arrived, on our first night we had to listen to music thumping in our room until 10:30pm. The reception was in the big white tent outside. That happened after a terrible dinner experience in the Tavern. Then we proceeded to have multiple bad experiences in the restaurant. We left the hotel for lunch on our 2nd day but the point of staying in an upscale resort is so you don’t have to leave. I really thought hard before leaving this review but we spent a lot of money and left feeling disappointed. I also left a restaurant review because that was the catalyst to a disappointing experience.
