I traded my Cadillac in to CarMax back in October and was pleased with the results. I wasn’t forced into a vehicle. Most dealers force you into a vehicle that you really don’t want and can’t afford just to make a sale. Good by to dealers for me. I would recommend CarMax before a dealer.

One of the worst services ever at Carmax Wayne. Bought a car and they provided a 3 month Carmax warranty, bought the car in and they weren’t able to locate the issue. Showed them pics and they just sent me home and said give us a call back if it keeps happening. Car shuts off while driving and I have to pull over ever 10 mins because of the issue. Was told manager is on lunch and I will get a call back and that never happened. I don’t know what’s the point of Carmax care. Here’s 10 times it happened after I visited them for the issue. Wish it was only 10 times but happened way more than that.

I sold my car to this CarMax location and unfortunately left two pairs of glasses inside the vehicle. Two days later, I called and was told by a representative that both pairs were found and would be placed in Lost & Found labeled with my name for pickup. When I came back three weeks later, only one pair was available — the cheaper of the two. The more expensive pair, 500 dollar Saint Laurent sunglasses were missing, and no one could explain what happened to it. This is extremely disappointing, especially after I was explicitly told the items were secured.

Extremely disappointed and frustrated with CarMax. I repurchased my vehicle at the Clermont location on December 30, 2025. As of January 21, 2026, Navy Federal Credit Union still has not received the payoff funds. Over three weeks later, and nothing. I have spoken to multiple managers and keep getting runarounds instead of results. I am now days away from a required payment, and CarMax’s failure to release these funds is putting me at financial risk and threatening my credit. This is unacceptable, unprofessional, and should never happen at a company this size. I am demanding corporate-level intervention and immediate proof that payment has been issued. CarMax has completely dropped the ball.

I wanted to sell my old car and went to carmax website and enter all information and got an offer from carmax instantly. Then I went ahead to book an appointment to drop off my car at the closest carmax location. At the location, I was directed through all the steps and everything took about 15-20 mins to complete. They also offer a free lyft ride home if needed. The process was pretty straightfoward and smooth both online and in person.

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COST !!!!!! If I can leave a zero or negative stars I would. The sales reps seem cool but the place is a total disaster. They DO NOT live up to the customer service they promise. I bought an Audi A6 from them and 2 weeks into driving it the car overheated. In a span of almost 1 month that they hadwith my car(which was longer then I had driving it), they put me in “loaners”, 4 to be exact. 1 loaner, a pretty new Jetta, the check engine light came on. Another Nissan Sentra same issue finally they put me in a Lexus which seemed to be like a 2008 with a terrible wheel alignment issue but I refused to drive back to get a different loaner. All the while they gave me back my Audi in this process and said they them selves “test drove it” and the car overheated seconds driving it. In good faith they wanted to return the 1st payment I made on the car and I still haven’t recieved it that was well over 2 weeks ago, Matthew responses to emailswhen he wants to regarding the check as do the rest of the staff.this dealership is awful and a headache waiting to happen. It’s all lies and smiles to get you out the door sort of happy and confused. One of the managers, who I won’t mention by name cuz he’s cool, even told me when I showed frustration, “it’s an Audi what did you expect?” It has been single handily the worse car experience I have had ever THEY ruined my experience all together. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP

It's nice knowing you will receive competitive prices compared to trade-ins at local dealerships. I went there because of this rumor by word of mouth, and It was proven it is true. 5 Stars. Ty 👍 Just check for your EZ pass because they must have thrown mine away when I went back to retrieve it

I had a wonderful experience purchasing my used car through CarMax. From start to finish, the Wayne location was efficient, supportive, and incredibly hospitable. The team was great at answering my calls, following up promptly, and making sure every question I had was clarified. The online process was smooth, and picking up the car in person was just as easy. Even with my busy schedule, they consistently kept me informed with reminders, updates, and anything else I needed. Everyone I interacted with treated me with respect and showed patience throughout the entire process. I truly appreciate their professionalism and excellent customer service.

Matthew is an awesome salesman and i also had help from Josh and Dave through text. 100% pain free experience. I paid to have the explorer shipped to wayne from Maryland, came in a few days early. Fell in love with the car immediately while test driving it. It'll be delivered to my house tomorrow. Not much more you can ask for, i literally feel like royalty. Keep up the good work guys.. Update: the car was delivered on time and with a full tank. Job we'll done. Thank you guys

I went to this place to initially enquire about selling off my 2021 VW Jetta. Tariq, one of the employees there was kind enough to explain me about the steps. I went there a couple of days later with the documents ready and Osman really helped me with the same! I got a pretty good offer and was given a check. The process was super smooth and easy. I was even given a free Uber ride to home. I would definitely recommend selling off your car, but before that, would apply for it online and see the price before deciding.

I went into Carmax thinking I was going to be dealing with a bunch of used car salesman. Boy was I wrong. I was given exactly what the online quote was. I was treated with respect. They were honest and upfront on how the process worked. To say I was impressed is an understatement. And to make things even better, when I agreed to sell the car, I asked how long the paperwork would take so I could arrange a ride home. I live 50 mins from your Wayne office. They said no worries we will pay for a Lyft to get you home. I think I may have fell on the floor....lol. All I know is the next time I go to sell a car, I'll be coming to Carmax. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Visited Carmax to sell my vehicle where I received a quote and prepared the paperwork ahead of time. I had a Saturday morning appointment and had a wonderful experience with Mac. Mac was so kind, easy to work with, and detailed. CarMax also has a Lyft partnership so you can easily get to your next destination. Highly recommend.

Hi, I usually don’t write reviews, but I had to take a moment to recognize the amazing service I received today. Adam was the representative who helped me, and he was truly outstanding—professional, patient, and understanding. I came in feeling stressed and overwhelmed after a long drive to sell my vehicle, but Adam turned the whole experience around. He made the process smooth, straightforward, and fast—everything was wrapped up in less than an hour. I specifically chose this CarMax location because of the great reviews, even though it was the furthest one for me, and I’m so glad I did. Adam’s customer service and genuine care made the trip more than worth it. Thank you again for making what could’ve been a stressful day so much easier!

The first time I purchased a car from here. It was an amazing experience, fast friendly. Fast forward a few months. I got a car shipped, it came damaged, they said we are going to repair it and let you know when it’s ready. I get a text saying it’s ready two weeks later and my trade expired, they won’t honor the original trade, also I kept asking for pictures to see the repairs before I take off from work and take the commute. No communication from text, I call and get the run around. Don’t come here.

I purchased a 2022 Honda Accord from CarMax Wayne on June 14, 2025. Sales department was very good; painless buying experience. Just outside of the 90-day warranty period, the car’s battery died on September 9,2025. For a relatively new car at this price point ($32,000), this was very disappointing. When I reached out to their service department, I was told that since the warranty had expired, they couldn’t do anything. While I understand that’s fair and within policy, it still raises questions about how thoroughly they inspect their cars before selling them. I expected better quality control and assurance when buying from CarMax, especially with such a significant purchase. I hope others don’t face the same issue and this is the only thing they didn't check.

Sold a 2012 Toyota Corolla for 6,600. Kelly blue book listing was 8 to 10 grand. Took cut. Had an appointment at 1 pm . Started appointment at 1230. No wait. Which was good. Had a guy training.i was fine with it, until four hours later. The check cut to us need 2 to 5 days to clear, which in a bind does the buyer no good. Last part of this experience l, the " ride offered within 60 miles" is a their party called swift. Should be called turtle. It was an hour late and had to request a different driver twice. I'll let the readers decide how it went .

An excellent experience. As soon as I entered the lobby, a staff member came over to greet me and guide me through the process. Everything went smoothly throughout, and even when manager approval was needed, the wait wasn't long. After completing all the formalities, the staff even called a Lyft to take me home.

My experience hasn’t been very great at this CarMax location. I feel like i didn’t even get the bare minimum in terms of transparency, respect, and support. I was sold a 2016 Honda Civic EX-T. (Car runs and drives fine but I later discovered it had a loose front bumper and a few other issues) The sales rep that had sold me the car was Alex Reyes. I have nothing against him but I felt like his main motive was less about making sure I was taken care of and more about selling me the car. The day before I went to the dealership for express pickup , he told me about max care. I told him I’ll think about it (I’m very aware that this helps their commission and makes the metrics look good) the day I purchased the car I had told him I’ll pass on the Max care and he added it to my down payment anyways so I felt obligated to go with it. The car had stains on the seats in the vehicle (residue that I had to clean that was on the infotainment screen and buttons) , missing cup holder, wrong factory floor mats, and a misaligned front bumper. (The part for the cup holder was ordered so I will update when I pick it up) I made a service appointment at the same location . As I was waiting, I noticed Alex was near me and he didn’t say anything to me until I said something to him. I told him my issues and he came off like it wasn’t his problem . He asked me how I was and how the car was, and once I told him the issues he didn’t offer to help me in anyway, or try to figure out what could be done. It bothered me because he only cared about the sale and not about making sure I was genuinely ok. This shouldn’t be me only this should be every customer. We all should be treated like we matter. Don’t put on your best performance and than once you get your sale .

CarMax in Wayne is great! If you upload all of the documents before arriving, the process is seamless. I was impressed with the organization of the store and their speedy system for processing our purchase and trade. We traded our old car and purchased a new one. The entire process took about 2 hours. It would have been faster, but some documents needed to be rescanned. Overall, I would certainly buy a vehicle here before setting foot in a traditional dealership ever again. They are fully transparent about the prices and fees on the website. It was less stressful and far less time consuming than our last vehicle purchase.

I wish I could have offer a negative star rating. I drove there with all the papers for my appointment, but I was told that I would have to wait 1.5 hours longer due to other walk-in. They obviously don't value their clients' time. Booking an appointment is a joke. Waist of time - get my advice - go somewhere else - or ready to wait for hours.
