I called this place Friday (5/27/17). A woman answered in a polite, but uncommon manner for a business. I wasn't sure if I called a business or a home. I explained what I was looking for. She said they had what I needed, it's $100, but they had to have someone get the part and was told I'd get a call back. After 30min I called again as I hadn't heard anything and knew they closed a half hour later. Again an unprofessional phone answering, followed by my inquiring about the status of the parts I need. Again I was told I would get a call. No call came. Here I am the day after, patiently waiting for this supposed call. Half the day goes by, I call yet again. The man who answered the phone at least identified I had called SAR'S and was over all very pleasant. The man in the background, however was vulgar and rude. He yelled to the guy I was speaking to, that he didn't care how close I live and didn't care i called yesterday for the part or what I was told yesterday, that he was leaving and closing up shop and to just hang up on me. All said with much more colorful language. When I asked if I could speak with him, the man yelled more of what he already said only more colorfully and insisted the man I was on the phone with hang up. I asked this man if HE could sell me the part since the other was leaving. His reply was no and only the yelling man could. While I was talking to him, the man in the background continued to scream and become more agitated. After my exchange, the line went dead. They were suppose to be open until 3pm, it was 1pm.
*** New Review ***
I submit this addendum in order to give a full view of the scope of this experience.
It is now Thursday June 1, 2017.
After my previous experience, against my better judgment and out of convenience, I decided to give these people a THIRD chance. I was running errands today and my travels brought me into the vicinity of SAR's, so I decided to swing in. I have to admit, the encounter lived up to my expectations 100% and will say I'd be surprised if the individuals at SAR's didn't see this review coming. It really and truly is unfortunate, one bad apple CAN spoil the whole bunch. I say that because while I didn't feel answering a business phone with a simple "Hello" is very professional, the woman I spoke with on the phone was very pleasant and reassuring. I don't blame her for not getting a call back, nor do I blame her for the other people there saying they have no information about my initial inquiry. Somehow, in my gut I feel she did her job to its fullest. The man I spoke with on the phone the following day, he was very polite, cordial and respectful. Well done sir. The man that came out and greeted me at the actually yard today was very nice, polite and respectful as well. I greatly appreciate that. He asked me to wait where I was as he went to go and look into the part I needed. NOW the man in the background of my second phone call, who is also the individual who approached me after the polite man at the yard departed, this man is a different story. He is a short man with a beach ball of a belly, and a big white bushy Santa-esk mustache (no beard). This person approaches and asks if I am the person who called on Saturday and who wrote ... well, this review. I admitted I was. Now here is where everything can be fixed. Rather than saying, "hey I'm sorry about that," or "It was a holiday weekend and we close early on holiday weekends and the hours online don't reflect that," or even "hey i had a rough day. My Bad. What can we do to make this right and maybe you can see it in your heart to remove or change your review?" Instead of any one of those things or anything resembling an attempt to repair the relationship between business and patron, I got, "you won't be getting that part here. Not after that review. Now get out!" to which I respond, "You know, I can take down the review." Subtly hinting, minds can be changed. "I don't care," retorts the round little man, "now get out of here."
Sadly, negative star ratings aren't an option.
